My idea was shut down before in the thread, but I really hope for 1 or 2 guest characters from Tekken in this game later down the road.
Paris Game Week taking place on October 28th.

I can't promise that I would keep my words but I personally would focus on Street Fighter V and trying to get good with few characters before I would ever thinking about future dlc characters because we have no idea how long we would have to wait for those characters.
Of course, I would try my best to get every characters for Street Fighter V because I simply do.

Redesigned like the Street Fighter movie. Deal.
I'm afraid Blanka is beyond salvation. Is a gimmicky character, has always been, will always be. Characters that play themselves, regardless of what the opponent does should never happen in a SF again (I'm looking at you Fuerte, too).Hoping never.
Maybe his redesign will be good though.

IGX is nowhere near as big enough to reveal a character like Zen . Its a pretty small event and is the first time its happening. Only reason I brought up Sim as a likely reveal was because Gief got revealed at a relatively small event as well.
Zen is most likely PSX candidate with a story trailer ( Seeing as how he is the Final New character revealed , he must have some big role ). Capcom arent even present at IGX , only Sony ( So there is a chance of playable SF V) . I think Capcom might just release the trailer to co-incide with the date. Not really hold a press event or anything.
Either that or Paris Game show is going to get the Last SF 2 character reveal.

Yes that's Alex, the license plate on that truck also says SSF V which I assume is a Super Street Fighter V joke.

I do wonder if the eventual story mode/trailer will show characters that aren't actually playable in the base game, similar to what MKX did. Like how Tanya was featured even though she was an eventual DLC character. And then you had others like Baraka and Rain.

I'd say that's a very strong chance... we need Guile in the story because of Nash, we also need Sakura because of Karin- but we know at least one or both won't be in the launch roster.
Blanka is a gimmick character, but he doesn't "play himself"...lol
I keep seeing things like this said. Do you know the story to know you need them? What if Sakura is out of the country for the time being and Guile's busy on some covert operation. Boom, now they're out of the picture.

Let me rephrase that then... the story would be extremely disappointing if Guile isn't reunited with Nash and they just throw out Karin and Sakura's rivalry. Maybe Sakura is a retired dental hygienist now and will never be a DLC fighter... sure... fans will just eat that shit up.

I don't think we need Sakura because we got Karin. I'd like them to stand on their own.
Also I don't want her in that school girl outfit that they WILL put Sakura in.

That's her entire gimmick though.
I thought the Tekken characters were well designed in sfxt. I am a big fan of King's, Jin, Steve's and Hwoarang's movelist in that game.

Say I want to play the PC version as well as PS4. Bearing in mind the shared community, will I be able to play on the same capcom account? The people who mark me as rival would still be able to find and play me when I am on the other platform? If I preorder on PS4 would I thus have the preorder costumes on PC as well?

I am almost certain the characters you mentioned along with the likes of Urien,Gill will be in the Story mode. I dont think they need to be in a playable characters to be in Story mode.
I'm just saying that story reasons won't decide whether someone's in the game or not. It's demand and playstyles that will dictate that. Story is irrelevant for a fighting game's roster, it's just something to supplement and give some explanation for why each character is fighting not the other way around.
You can't say that with certainty either until the story is revealed. Could very well be a little of both.
Nah bro, final fight characters first featuring Hugo, Cody, Guy and Haggar. Rolento and Poison can disappear forever tho.

Oh I agree... they definitely make the roster first, and then start writing the story based around that. I wouldn't be surprised if in the story mode Guile's helicopter is blown out of the sky by Nash and he spends the rest of the story in a coma in the hospital. Then we get Guile DLC later, he's out of the coma, has a red robot arm that does rocket punches, and he's now voiced by Kiefer Sutherland who the whole time thought he was recording dialogue for a new Mortal Kombat game.
When it comes to story and Street Fighter... pretty much anything is possible. From a marketing perspective though... having some of your DLC fighters in the story mode with their new design, etc makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if bearded Ryu and some of the cosmetic DLC are also in the story mode.

Abel debuted in the wrong game. SFV's combat system benefits him far more than SFIV's ever did. Pretty much the only thing that doesn't benefit him in this game is that there are no hard knockdowns, but everything else is tailored to his play-style perfectly. Makes me sad as I mained him in IV, but I doubt we'll see him again.
Laura's as close as we'll get.
