Here's hoping they finally announce a release for the two-year-old patch for Ys: Celceta, so those of us with Playstation TV's can actually play it...

If they're announcing new games then I'm expecting Tokyo Xanadu, Net High (since it doesn't have Bakumatsu's bubble dialogues), and LAI; not that interested in LAI but Xanadu and Net High seems fun. And hopefully we get an otome, maybe even English Detective Mysyeria since it's getting a Vita port... probably not but I can dream.

Translating that seems like it'd be a pain in the ass with all of those Niconico-style scrolling text scenes

So he's a dick.

Pretty much. It'd be one (still fairly questionable) thing if he was going after, say, people causing shit online who're hypocritical in person, and so on. Instead it's just... people who commit the terrible crime of having private lives?

It's an interesting enough concept that I'm tempted to check it out if it goes on sale, but I'm sure not looking forward to the kind of person that'll praise it or how it'll be promoted here.

that was a tease on a dead system

the vita has more than enough

That wasn't a tease on a dead system, that was XSEED's first (and maybe only) attempt within the otome genre. The project was well underway when the developers decided not to dedicate any time into programming and adding the localized script. I felt kinda sad for XSEED, because it's not likely they'll do an otome game at this point with so many other games that'd likely bring more money to the table.

To get excited or to prepare for disappointment? :p

Hopefully, along with dates for SC and CS, we get some more Vita game announcements.

true, tbt, I was probably mixing up XSEED with Aksys :p

I do wonder if XSEED even has the option or opportunity to do an otome game
none of their usual companies they work with publish otome games

Tokyo Xanadu is the only thing I really want from these guys, though I don't think we'll get an announcement for that yet.
I'm also really hoping Atlus does Utawarerumono: False Mask.
Beyond that, other than Yakuza, I don't have any games I'm really hoping for localization for that I'm worried won't be but think there is a chance they will. Weird. I thought I'd have more.
So I'm going in there with an open mind for once. Cool.

XSEED started a new relationship with D3 Publisher, a company that has several otome titles in Japan. That said, I don't think it's ever going to happen, unfortunately.

Man, I forgot all about this. Doesn't seem like a quality game, but I'm sure Let's Plays, Quick Looks and overall silliness would make up for it.

Now that we're on the topic of weird games that won't get localized: I Thought It'd be Harem Paradise, but it Turned Out Yandere Hell

Actually 5pb has an otome game, and so does Kadokawa. But 5pb's is about the red light district so I don't see that coming over, and Kadokawa's has a bunch of high profile VAs which would make it too expensive to license, probably.

There are games on D3 Publisher's catalogue that XSEED'd go first before otome, like the EDF games, Bullet Girls, Omega Labyrinth, etcl.

All of their current Vita otome are apparently horrible, although, they're porting one of their good PSP games for Vita but that one has a fan translation already.

Something for PC, i hope

Unlikely. It seems that XSeed is softly withdrawing on their PC announcements. Haven't heard about Corpse Party for long, no new announcements since long... The last remainings are Xanadu Next and Trails in the Sky: Second Chapter.

Xanadu Next is a good bet.

While i really like Xanadu Next i would prefer some more recent stuff instead of 10 year old games.

Iirc they lacking the manpower for newer ports from PS3/Vita etc. On the other hand Falcom said for a while that they are very aware of Steam so there is a little hope for newer releases.

ah, didn't know that

oh well, I'll continue to hope for IFI and Aksys to keep bringing us otome games :]

Its old but still great, and more people would have the chance to play it as it hasnt been officially localized. The more Falcom games in the west, the better.

Xanadu maybe, but Ys 8 has 0% chance of happening. It hasn't even been properly unveiled in Japan outside of that teaser in 2014.

Oh yeah I know fully well it will not be announced (I do think they will do it eventually). One can hope!

Just got word that the event will likely take place on October 14th, two days from now.

Slick. I'm going to assume it's a controlled media blowout then which is par for the course for most players in the game industry... too bad we didn't get a rockin' GET HYPE announcement beforehand ;_;
