XSEED Holding Event This Week - New Exclusive Announcements at the Event

Tokyo Xanadu's most likely a given, but I'd love to see Net High, Exist Archive or Ray Gigant. (If not all three of them)

Also desperately want Bakumatsu Rock but it's never going to happen.

;_;

Hmm, I wonder whether Tokyo Xanadu will fall in the "Falcom doesn't care about west" bag (in XSEED PR "Falcom is busy with new Ys and Kiseki and they don't have many resources available for localization work") or the "Falcom preassuring XSEED for quick western release" bag (in XSEED PR "Falcom came to us about jumping series order with Trails of Cold Steel and everything is awesome"). Could change "I wonder" with "I'm afraid" too.

I would expect Tokyo Xandau would fall into the latter because it's a new Falcom game and they can see the financial benefits of localisation programming Tokyo Xandau versus loc progging the Ys Celceta PSTV patch (which Sony resolved for them anyway).

I do expect Nitro+ Blasterz to be a special exception to the general rule that Xseed doesn't pick up anything not already out in Japan, and I'd imagine most of the announcements will be ballpark release dates and maybe a PC port or two. I would be surprised if they announce that they've got Tokyo Xandau or Valkyrie Drive, and stuff like Net High is definite no-hopers. Honestly, I would say that Bakumatsu Rock would be the most likely Marvelous game to be announced if there's going to be pickup announcements, just for the sheer fact that it's out in Japan.

I doubt they are going to announce Bakumatsu Rock since they already said no, but I can see them announcing Net High to take the plunge on VNs. Sure, it's not out on Japan yet but that Popo game got licensed before it came out in Japan so it could happen with Net High. Anyway, doesn't really make a difference to me if it gets announced tomorrow or next year.

The obsession with this title here seems to be solely focused on the novelty of the premise and the fact that it's a console game.

I guess the killing parts made people believe this could be a good survival/solve the murder type of VN. If the story is bland, then there is really no reason to even remember this game.

Heh, I remember a time when I was legitimately excited for this game. And then it came out and the impressions started rolling in.

I wouldn't know what to think if it actually ended up being localised. It'd get absolutely demolished by critics, but I guess a small part of me would still want to check it out.

How were the impressions?

:(

All I remember is RyougaSaotome suffering on twitter while he was playing it.

This is gonna be one of those games that follows me around, huh?

The best way to describe Natsuiro is as a bad, poorly written, and uneventful dating sim that they knew wasn't gonna work on its own, so they wrapped it in an "open world" shell. Except the open world is basically one road that loops around the island (you can't go further inland), a small town area with two or three buildings you can enter but do nothing in, and the school.

It's also glitchy as fuck and full of bugs.

That's like, the general look. Inside of all that the game is fucked in dozens of ways.

Ukyo no Roshi/Shishi would be certainly nice but did ANYONE ever wrote anything about it? I never read a single impression of the game(s).

it's finally time for bullet girls

What a horrible game.

Somebody on GAF said it actually was a good game, so when it came for the hour free trial for Japan's PS+ this month I tried it out.

It is absolutely horrible mechanically and has severe gameplay issues like enemies not spawning in correctly and having to run around an entire one-way loop of a map.

Should've gone with my intuition.

There is some chance, I just don't know any PS4 game they can bring aside from the Spike Chunsoft JRPGs.

Damn thats a bummer, since like I said earlier in the thread I really could care less about the Vita but that seems to be XSEEDs big focus right now

Well to be fair, Vita is "the" niche machine currently. PS4 has still yet to see that many niche developers switching over to it, and then those that have, already have confirmed localizations of their games by other companies (for the most part). I'd assume that we won't be getting any "bigger name" games (from Xseed, other than EDF) on PS4 until Ys, which it will still possibly be several months until Japan even gets a date for it (they haven't exactly gotten any real info either).

Hey, D3 has some very nice otome titles.

There are some games D3 publishes that are not in their shitpile, such as Earth Defense Force. I am looking forward to XSEED's upcoming localizations of those games. But I was mainly referring to Bullet Girls, Natsuiro High School, Omega Labyrinth, and whatever other games RyougaSaotome chooses to inflict upon himself.

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
I never played the PS3 one, but the Vita one was suuuuper disappointing within the first hour. ='(

I have not heard anything about the game from folks I know. You literally are the first actual live person Ive heard from who played the game lol.

I totally forgot about the PS3 one honestly.

Grand Kingdom or Exist Archive would be awesome!

Also why are some people asking for Zodiac?
That game is already announced for worldwide release.

There's another great Xanadu already on PC though. :)

A Steam release for Xanadu Next would definitely get my attention faster than pretty much anything else that could be on deck here. (I'm kind of assuming TX is inevitable, which might not be accurate but nonetheless.)

I'm really curios how this is going to turn out. Almost all of possible XSEED localizations are on Vita. Will XSEED be the true saviour of Vita in 2016?

Possible: Tokyo Xanadu, Valkyrie Drive, Xanadu Next (PC)

Optimistic: Tokyo Xanadu, Valkyrie Drive, Xanadu next, Metropolis Defenders, Net High

Dream: Tokyo Xanadu, Valkyrie Drive, Xanadu next, Metropolis Defenders, Net High, Luminous Arc Infinity, Trails in the Sky 1&2 Evolution, IA/VT, Omega Labyrinth, Uppers (recent announced Takaki game)

Your dream list is very conservative. I would add Zwei II, Trails 3rd, Zero and Azure, Dinosaur Resurrection.

Just so you know, Trails Evolution titles aren't coming because of voice actor licensing issues and the second company, Pyramid, that was in charge of putting the games to Vita. There is a good reason that Cold Steel is not getting Japanese voices - because Chara-Ani is involved.

Hm? Do people really want to play this Valkyrie Drive game? Is it any good? What exactly makes it worthy to be localized?
