This postseason is what I love about baseball. If you had told me even 2 years ago we'd have a NLCS of Cubs/Mets and ALCS of Royals/Jays I'd have laughed in your face. Teams get hot with or without big stars and make history out of nowhere and it's amazing to watch.

I'm a Tigers fan and we had our shot, going from worst record in baseball history to basically a dominant force in the AL that never could quite get over the hump. Now we're back to cellar-dwelling. Enjoy it while you can, KC/Toronto/Chicago/NY!

It seems odd looking out it from the outside, but when you get invested in a team you feel a sense of ownership. That's why you cheer when they do well and feel like garbage when they lose.

When you're emotionally invested in a team, like say the Detroit Lions, and you follow every move the team makes through the offseason and season, root for them through thick and thin, it feels like you're a part of the team for better or worse. When the Lions have a heartbreaking loss I feel it in Los Angeles.

On topic, I don't follow baseball till the playoffs but if I have a team it's Los Doyers and it sucks to see us lose to a New York team.
