Well, that's what I'm saying really.
If a retailer like Gamestop, Walmart or BB (wih "help" from MS) suddenly has the Halo 5 bundle at $399 or even $349 around the Halo 5 launch and for a few days, it could change the dynamic entirely, certainly.

No extra controller. It's 1TB custom designed console and controller + Halo 5 Limited Edition.
should have just bundled it with the standard game honestly and throw in an extra controller....then drop it to 500GB and have it $50 less.

they are not....however the standard rate seems to jack the price $50 for 500GB more.....its more of how much profit do they want on the sku

Yeah, but look at trends in the industry... e.g. phones charge much more for the 32gb version or whatever. It seems to be a standard practice now.

Yes, will chart. Assassin's Creed is on free fall, but still is a strong franchise.

Depends on your definition of "charting".
I think it was in the Top10 last November (#7 IIRC). This October there is barely any competition. I would be surprised if it does not end up at #2 in the October charts.
Assassin's Creed will be third in October NPD, under Halo 5 and NBA.

I would think that reason MS bundled Halo 5 with the 1TB model is that they actually want to make a profit on whats gonna be their biggest game this generation. Makes me think back to the Titanfall bundle and how quickly it had its price slashed. Did MS lose money on that or was it the retailers that ate up the price cuts?
Good point totally forgot about how well NBA 2K16 has sold so far this year.

This might be a beaten to death question but how reliable is the Amazon ranking towards the NPD results?

A delay to the 19th.
Its too early for it to be reliable (for October that is), but as for past results, 22/23 correct, and the one missed was actually correct if you read between the lines (2 SKUs close by vs 1).
Amazon serves less than 10% console buyers but their rankings between PS4 and XB1 have been near perfect in predicting the better selling console.

In terms of aligning with the leading console for the month, very reliable. In terms of predicting specific numbers, don't do it.

I doubt we are going to find any retailers doing "crazy stuff" in the next 2 weeks, especially almost a month away from Black Friday. I think we may see some "Free Game" or a $30-$50 Gift Card, maybe. But there isn't going to be anything really crazy in October.
Plus, for the Xbox One and Retailers, they aren't really going to have to do "crazy stuff" with Halo coming very soon. It will sell great. They are going to start getting crazy around Black Friday to try and get more people in THEIR stores.

Its fun to watch. The Halo Bundle gets a lot of focus in these threads, but that UC Bundle is just being a bit sneaky right now and making some moves as well.

Certainly. I can't remember specific movement for each bundle (I know most/all of them saw massive percentage increases for their chart position though) but I do remember the UC bundle being nowhere near the top 100 and skyrocketing to top 20 or so after the price drop.
If ps4 wins October Now that will be a interesting Npd Thread.
Well, if the hourly charts are anything to go by, the Halo 5 bundle will extend its lead over the Uncharted bundle. It hasn't caught up with the TLOU bundle, though.

or VR turns PS4 into PS2.0. That was still my favorite gen, didn't care for much on Wii after the motion novelty wore off.Hope NX will become the real new Wii, and will sell more than PS4 and XB1 combined all months, like the Wii was selling more than 360+PS3, those were good timesand the NPD threads will back amazing.
But that's already happened.
The PS4 WAS the PS2.0 at launch and for the firsts half of last year... Now, the thing are very change.
PS4 is not even close with the PS2 domination.
TLOU got incredible legs, word of mouth is probably the reason for this, more people hear from others how amazing it is and they join in late.

There is a Disney Infinity Bundle but I think it's only at Walmart. Could be wrong about that last part though. Not sure.

Not in the US. Gap between the PS2 and PS4 at this point (August 02 V August 15) is just slightly below 2 million.
