Star Wars Episode 7 New Trailer Teaser

Ok so Empire was defeated. I'm assuming the various systems began to govern themselves without imperial rule. Why does the rebellion still seemingly exist? I realize all this will likely be addressed to some extent in the film's opening crawl but I'm curious if some star wars material outside the films has addressed what is happening after Jedi.
I'm under the impression that the New Republic and First Order have sort of settled into their own regions of space and the Resistance are a group fighting from within that First Order controlled territory. But that's just what I've gleaned from the names and what little information we have about how the New Republic exists in current canon.

I like your version. I hope that's what it really is.

I will be missing the MNF game but will have internet access. Anyone know if the trailer is going up online right after it airs on MNF or will it take a day?

I may record MNF if that's the case.

When is Monday Night Football exactly? Does it mean that us Europeans first get to see it Tuesday morn?

Yes, Tuesday for us. The game starts 8:30 EDT, which is 2:30 am CEST. Now I'm assuming the trailer will be during halftime, so that means it'll be even later.

Does anyone have a link explaining where this new evil empire popped up from ?

Well like most cases when one evil dies, another is born in it's place. The empire was never completely destroyed it just lacked the leadership it once had. I imagine The First Order is just the Empire under new leadership....Or is it?

dun dun dunn...

do you think the opening crawl will look cooler?

i don't want to read

At the beginning the crawl will read really intriguing and full of mystery,
it will also run faster with viewers getting out of breath just reading it and the starfield pan down will end on a big sun flare.

More like the old Empire never really went away, but rather its centalized leadership was taken out. But there's still plenty of Imperial bases, generals, etc. all throughout the galaxy. Sure they killed the Emperor, but there are plenty of planets that liked his regime just fine.

This is honestly my favorite shot from the teasers. I don't know if it's the color grading, or what, but it looks straight out of 70s films in general or the OT.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I love this shot. I want the whole movie to give me vibes like this.

From http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/First_Order

During the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic struck a major blow against the Galactic Empire during the Battle of Endor. With the deaths of Emperor Palpatine and his apprentice, Darth Vader, the battle severely shattered the now-leaderless Empire.[9][10]

In the years that followed, the First Order emerged, inspired by the principles of the fallen government and led by former officers of the Empire. The First Order was active approximately thirty years after the Battle of Endor, and fought against the Resistance

You can read Star Wars: Afternath. It's a new (canon) book, set right after RotJ. Its about some empire personel (admiral, general, palpatine advisor) to find common grounds to continue and not split apart....
They still have a Super Star Destroyer and a strong fleet......

OK guys, with the new trailer expected during Monday Night American Football, I need the details.

What is the game, what is the channel. Will be the only game I watch bar the SUPER(slam)BOWL

I wonder how the light saber fight between Bodega and the new bad guy is going to turn out. I mean Bodega has no chance to win this right?

If rumours(?) are to be believed
Kylo Ren isn't a sith just a guy who can use a lightsaber, if the same can be said of Finn - not a jedi - then they are on a level playing field in that regard.

My expectations are getting ridiculously out of hand right now. Need to reign it in a bit.

And this is before the new trailer, lawd.

It's Oscar Isaac channeling his inner Han Solo.

Already got his Funko Pop. Interesting fact: Poe Dameron has a scar/cut under his right eyes.

Not sure if it has been discussed, but in these teasers, the colors look weird in the daylight shot especially.

Like when the girl looks up at the sky, the greens look weirdly saturated.

MUAHAHAHAH I've got tickets for the 16th of December. Together with these small vids my enthusiasm can not be contained :D

Just because he is not a Sith doesn't mean he can't use the Force. He could be an untrained wannabe fanboy but still have talent and potential. Even Vader was a "dark Jedi" before all the bad guys were Sith named Darth.

i didn't notice that but one thing i really liked about the scene was the melding of the old star wars ships we've seen like 30 years ago with contemporary cinematography. the x-wing and storm trooper scenes especially give off this modern retro vibe that I'm loving.

I came in expecting to bitch about trailers for trailers for trailers but, damn it, that scene with the TIEs flying overhead got me. Then the shot of Boyega and other rebels scrambling on the ground got me again.

Damm, this is a hard decision. Watch the Monday night stream like I usually do on sky and miss the trailer or watch a shitty American stream so I can catch the trailer.

Or just wait a couple of minutes and watch Apple's encode or the official Youtube page? :)

As soon as the trailer airs they'll throw it up online right after. Apple already accidentally revealed the placeholder over the weekend.

Also anyone catching GMA this morning for their sneak peek?
