I read that tickets will go on sale after this trailer drops. Does that apply to Canada as well?

The republic doesn't encompass the entire galaxy, they can't police it either. Remnants of of the old Empire it sounds rebuilds and creates a new military lead force that it looks is invading planets.

There is no "rebellion", it's a resistance as fighters on these planets being invaded are fighting against this military junta. Most likely like the old republic, planets were left to govern and protect themselves, they didn't have a republic military that encompassed and controlled the galaxy. Resistance is likely part of the new republic allying with these invaded planets to try and fight the First Order. The republic is a demilitarized government, any militaries under the republic belong to the self governing planets, the republic does not actually control planets like the Empire did and held with a military. Like in the prequels, the jedi were the peace keepers, the police in a way of the republic, but the republic had no standing military.

This aren't spoilers from the movie, but nonetheless, from the latest official books, comics and short stories, we can gather that
the Rebellion was indeed able to organize a New Republic, but couldn't eliminate the Empire completely, just fight it to a draw and force it to sign a treaty that basically exiled them to the Outer Rim.

From the looks of it, the First Order is a recuperated Empire taking advantage of a demilitarized Republic(something hinted at in one of the latest canon books, Aftermath[/B) that bet on democracy and not maintaining a grand army like Palpatine's.

And so the Resistance is probably a fledgling attempt at restarting the Republic army and navy as the First Order spreads.

It'll still be digital. Unless I'm mistaken, the only IMAX showings are in 3D so the film will be converted to digital projection no matter where you see it.

There are going to be around 12 theaters that run it in IMAX 70mm, keep an eye out and ask around.

So #boycottsrarwarsvii is trending because some crazies think the film is anti-white. The fuck is wrong with people?

Saw the same thing. FUCK those people. They know damn well they will be there watching the movie. I wouldn't be surprised if most of them are just trolls

We should start the rumor that the movie is anti-american, because most of the actors are British, and it was shot in England.

Let's just see if that sticks.

Ive not seen a SINGLE thing about this. How the hell is this trending? The only result on google is this very thread. Nothing on Twitter or any social media

was there a #boycotcaptainamerica movement also when Sam took over? I guess comics arent as mainstream as star wars

Feels like weird though. The Empire was everybit as hierarchical and cult based around a single figurehead as the Third Reich and that collapsed quite fast after the Fuhrer was dead. And you would think that Palpatine had used some of that "can't see my true nature" Force magic around his own ranks to keep them in line.
Will be interesting to see if they give the First Order any agenda like fear of aliens or something more political. The Empire in the OT pretty much was a club to serve the Emperor.
