When it comes to the popular vote in Atlantic Canada, it's kind of crazy so far:

I haven't followed the details. Is the Harper government on the way out finally? Are Canadians going more right or to the left based on early results?

Dammit New Brunswick, you do nothing for four years and you might give us a conservative.

We do stuff! Like keep you all somewhat entertained during the few months we aren't a wasteland.

Tobique is running super-close.

Bobby Morrissey is just crushing Gail Shea.

Liberals ahead by 4 votes in Saint John.

Well, this is a surprise.

Come on Saint John-Rothesay

Take out Rodney Weston pls.

I seriously cannot see it happening but I'm fully willing to believe some magic will make it so.

I will say this: If the Liberals are to form a majority, they need at least 25 seats in Atlantic Canada. But again, let's not call it just yet.

I'm still praying for a minority. I guess my only hope is that the Liberals get annihilated in BC.

So it's safe to assume Harper is out? From the UK, well done Canada. Harper has damaged Canada's reputation abriad almost as badly as Bush Jr did for the US.
Not yet, since Atlantic Canada was widely expected to go Liberal anyway.

Quebec is the real test.

I agree that to some extent dental care should be covered (2 cleanings a year, 1-2 fillings a year).

For Vision: Agreed that 1 visit every 2 years should be covered. The issue is glasses. Should only lenses be covered? Should frames be included up to a certain dollar value?

I disagree. Only necessary dental procedures should be covered, and it should require a referral from a GP - like seeing any other specialist, to prevent abuse of the system. If GPs don't have enough expertise, start training them to pick up dental problems.

The problem with dentistry is that there's been no push to have evidence based practice. People don't realize that a lot of dental procedures and investigations have little to no evidence or utility behind them. Routine dental x-rays are completely useless. Dental cleaning is purely cosmetic at best, and probably the dental industry's equivalent to rust proofing a car. These are things the public shouldn't pay for.

Dunno about Ontario but I can just feel Quebec is gonna ruin things. You know it's gonna be all over the place. Speaking to friends, family, etc. that's exactly what it was and that's the sentiment I got everywhere really.

They arguably have too much of a voice. Ridings should be realigned/reset to match census data, just like the Electoral College in the USA.

Cool, so at the same time, we should get slash all those rural Ontario ridings too while we're at it.
