Wattam (Sony/Funomena - Katamary Damacy creator) trademark abandoned.

I know for a fact that Wattam's still being worked on. Probably just a mistake.
Cab you explain how you know? Or are you mod verified? I believe you but solid confirmation this is nothing would be nice.

Edit: sounds like multiple sources all reporting the game is still in dev. Phew

Didn't the same thing happen with TLG?
Yes, but that was due to one of their paralegals leaving and nobody bothered to check when certain trademark applications would need to be updated. That has been fixed now.

I'd say they will change the name of the game.

Sony letting trademarks expire? This is unheard off!

Somebody poke the Trademark Manager at Sony. I think he fell asleep again. Best do it quick before Konami snatches it and turns it into a Pachinko game.

You don't even need to be an insider to know that Wattam is still in development.

Funomena has been tweeting about some of the marketing they're doing with this game (shirts and everything), and Keita regularly posts some of his designs for this game for his blog.

Weird this happened, but someone from the team/Sony is probably processing the trademark again.

Multiple times. It really doesn't mean anything.

It didn't expire like TLG. The trademark hasn't even been registered for a year.

This is most likely a filed express abandonment.

It is not. It if was an express abandonment, the records would show so. The reason for abandonment is:

The trademark application identified below was abandoned in full because a response to the Office Action mailed on Mar 23, 2015 was not received within the 6-month response period.

If the delay in filing a response was unintentional, you may file a petition to revive the application with a fee. If the abandonment of this application was due to USPTO error, you may file a request for reinstatement. Please note that a petition to revive or request for reinstatement must be received within two months from the mailing date of this notice.
