Ugh...I'm so torn on doing physical or digital. I want to play it ASAP. I cancelled a Best Buy that came with socks and the season pass because I was paranoid about not going it day of. Digital would be available on the dot but it would be cheaper getting it at Best Buy and it's so far unknown if they're opening at 9PM to sell it since I live on the West Coast. I want it cheaper so I can have plenty to buy a second copy for a friend and surprise them with it since they're as big of a fan of Fallout as I am and they can't afford it yet.

This game is tearing me apart!

I'm buying the disc version of this and actually now I'm regretting it(was much cheaper though)
Amazon don't deliver till about 5pm here :(

I'm with you man. It will be about the same time here, Pacific. By the time I get the game there will probably be 25 pages of posts with people playing the game. Guess I'll have something to do with reading material and spoiler dodging.

That Fallout 4 Gold Edition is pretty sweet if you have a GCU membership. You basically pay the retail $60 for the game but get the socks and season pass for free. And you get a $10 certificate on top of that for pre-ordering. Nice deal.

You could always buy the regular edition and the socks edition. . .if the Gold edition comes at a reasonable time, just give your friend the regular edition. I'm sure they won't mind.

Also they've got the Midnight Openings up already - if you're not one of the many locations open that definitely sucks (seriously it's like most of them will be open).

Definitely a good deal, but right now there is a lot of confusion as to whether it will be available for Midnight Openings. You can Ship-To-Store the XB1 version, but there is no such luck so far for the PS4 one.

Ahhh so RB ( R1 ) is now a grenade button. Okay i might use these occasionally now, but will probably end up accidently throw one and make the whole town hate me. Darn.

I wonder if the game will make use of the PS4 touchpad at all. If they were smart, they'd at least let you use it as a second favorites wheel (similar to the Owl commands wheel in KZ Shadow Fall)

I guess we will see in coming days. I have no doubt that the game will leak in some middle-eastern country like always days ahead of its release.

I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't put PipBoy open/close on the touchpad

Its basically become a de facto character menu button :P

Use O to immediately exit conversations when there's no consequence to it or something

i'm thinking about getting the physical PC version. usually i just download on steam but i kinda miss having something to unwrap and stare at especially if there are manuals/maps included!

will the physical version be a steam copy? or will it just be a standalone copy of the game?

Its Steamworks. After installing the game, the disc is as usable as a coaster.

It's really refreshing that apart from the announcement trailer and the E3 blowout they haven't shown anything of the game for ages, wish more game companies would do this really.

Yeah, revealing your game very close to the release date is what every company should do.
You don't spoil too much and the hype is still pretty alive by the time it comes out.

Somehow managed to snag a Pip Boy edition order here in Taiwan. My local shop arranged for me to get one, since I've been a faithful customer of theirs for the past 3 years.

I hope this is a result of them realizing past mistakes (shipping bug-riddled games) and not wanting to raise expectations and letting the work speak for itself once it's out.

That would be a very pleasant surprise for a change.

I couldn't agree more. I love the fact I'm going into this game fresh and I feel like their work has always spoken for itself

ugh, can't decide between ps4 or buy like a 960 gtx and buy it on steam, have a 4790 and 16 gb of ram but can't afford much more than a 960 right now

super hyped for this game, been playing 3 again and still love it

I still can't believe how little they've shown. This is one of the biggest AAA releases in years and everyone's going in almost blind.

The German translation of the SPECIAL videos series is really bad:

I hope the translation in the game itself is better as they have a pretty good German voice lineup.

Didnt know they dubbed this trailers, so just went to look for the spanish ones.
Spanish ones are pretty great!
Is funny because the dub actor did a cartoon mascot on a childrens program that was aired in the public channel of my city, called Babalá.
More famous in all Spain is that he also did Jeff Goldblum's voice on Jurassic Park.
I really hope he does some characters or PSA system on the game.

Skyrim had some good voices in spanish, the problem was the repetition was horrible and some old characters spoke with young voices and viceversa. More the voice director's fault than the voice actors, really hope they fix that. At least they tried to make the old funny voice on the trailers for Fallout 4, so thats a good start.

After playing hundreds (thousands?) of hours on Fallout 3 / New Vegas on a controller, moving the pipboy key somewhere else might break my brain! I'd do hope they do something smart with it though. The Witcher 3 had some nice control options on the touchpad like - IIRC - long press to jump straight to the map.

I'm sure they'll be a few control configurations if not a more configurable interface. For anything else the PS4's accessibility options will lete you swap things around.

Generally I like as few gameplay and story spoilers as possible and I was hoping for some console footage to help me decide between PC or PS4 but I've now put £50 in my PSN wallet and it pre-ordered for PS4. My giant beanbag swung it. I will spend hundreds of hours in this game and I want to be as comfortable as possible.
