This looks fucking SICK!

Yep. There's no inherent problem with that, it's just the way they're going about it is the lamest thing ever:

My worry is that they don't get full comic book or full realism and get tangled up in-between where nothing fits. Marvel did a good job fully embracing the comic in the MCU and choosing low key Daredevil for more realism (relative, I am aware that Daredevil still has comic book logic at times). I have serious doubts about this and the whole DCCU.If the Flash/Arrow shows are any indication, they're going full retard on the DCU.
I don't see any problem with that image. They are going for a more "serious" look for the characters. In my opinion, they succeded. Deadshot especially, looks perfect in the trailer, like Harley Quinn.

There's a point where you stop trusting someone's design decisions and see it for the mess it is
What I got from that was "Jared Leto sends thematically appropriate gifts to fellow cast members", "Jared Leto is excited to show off his Joker character in live concert by doing a 3 second voice," and "cast member doesn't want to break other actor out of character, partially due to it being disrespectful, but also due to the performance being impressively intimidating."
...Like... am I supposed to be cringing while reading these or something?
The costume design in this movie is the worst in recent memory and this pretty much confirms it along Deadshot's hockey pads.
Why do you think he's older? Movie Batman is supposed to be like Miller Batman, old, grouchy, really long in the business and Leto's Joker looks rather young. I could see it. And I rather see it than this terrible Joker.

Nope.Box office bomb right here
Since when are characters are always the age of the actor. Many american school based movies would be very weird.Jared leto is nearly a year older than Ben Affleck. Also sure, ruin a character other people like just because one that you like looks different. That makes perfect sense.
I know it means nothing, but the first trailer, if you can even call it that, has more views on YouTube than any of the BvS trailers.Box office bomb right here

Suicide Squad producer Charles Roven also chimed in by revealing that the villain's dress sense has been inspired by Mexican cartels, while he's now, "More social...a very successful and smart businessman besides being a sociopath.
I don't see it as "serious", but just them trying to make them look grimy. I mean hey, these guys are criminals, scumbags, etc. I doubt the movie will be all that serious.
No it's the media that adds their spin and ridiculousness to the stories to get hits. Jared's been having a lot of fun. He was telling some fans in a meet and greet how excited he was for us to see the movie and just tongue in cheek said they were going to lock him away once the movie comes out but then media picked up it like he was serious.I read this as Shaanyboi tries really hard to justify an actor taking his job way too seriously, and/or a studio trying way too hard to make up stories about Jared Leto so their movie has a snowball's chance in hell of outdoing a post-mortem performance by Heath Ledger.

I fully expect him to be wearing this shirt at some point in the film:

I like the one from Arkham Origins and Arrow.

Also the theory has points. It's not a fact, it could very well not be that way, but it still could be and that's beyound me just feeling better. Look it up, there are some interesting arguments to be made.
It was Christmas Eve. Christmas time can be cold. Did people really fail to grasp that?I like both as well but both had those complaints I quoted, especially the Origins costumes people wouldn't shut up about just a puffy coat..
Yup, same with his costume in city being a modification of his inmate uniform. It was Christmas Eve. Christmas time can be cold. Did people really fail to grasp that?
Honestly the design makes me think if Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia got the idea to dress up as Joker.

Yes, how dare I not deride a movie that is still the better half of a year away based on an Empire cover and a vague trailer. I'm such a tool.
If I was going to get pissy about a new creative team reinterpreting a pop-culture icon that has existed for decades before I was even born, I wouldn't be reading comics.
