Sorry if this has been covered. Will there be a spoiler free thread for those of us stuck at work and not able to watch it? Or at least spoiler free links in the OT to the archived conference on YouTube/Twitch?

Game is probably fun, but yikes - marketing has a nightmare of a job with VR.

I think the best way to advertise VR is to start off by showing someone playing with a controller (and having fun), but then he puts the controller down and puts on the VR headset. Once he's wearing it he steps through the TV screen and into the world. A few shots of him looking around should give people an idea of what VR is like. If they can give it that Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe or Alice Through the Looking Glass vibe, it should get people interested even if they don't understand it.

Gamescom 2013 announced 4 new IPs.
Gamescom 2014 announced 3 new IPs (+1 more if you count Until Dawn)
So, yeah. At least 2 new IPs is my expectation.
Can't wait for Sony to show their entertainingly weird Japanese ads for the PSVR
They could still be working on Killzone, Rigs is a 3v3 arena shooter, I can't imagine it takes a lot of resources to make that game.

Yep. I would be great if you could just put your old PS2 CD games in the PS4, but that won't happen. The only hope is classics digital.
IMO guerrilla are the best.at world building, say.what you want about the rest of the game but the setting and atmosphere was brilliant
But weren't ps2 discs.basically dvds, I thought PS4 could play dvds

Oh God I hope they are making a Killzone game a la Killzone 1/2.... I miss that style so much. With all of Killzone 1's problems I loved it so much for all the things it did right with the camera perspective and weapons and dual-fire modes and audio... mmmmm.... the Killzone HD remaster on PS3 is ace too at 720p30, so gud.
Loved Killzone SF, but I want that grounded and gritty military sci-fi shooter back. That hard, rough and iron feeling of Killzone 1 and 2 I miss a lot. No shooter game series has given me the gritty and grounded impression of Killzone 1 except maybe Red Faction 1 that released before Killzone 1.

after Horizon maybe they can reboot KZ seeing as they have new writers on their team.... plus there is a bunch of stuff they could do to keep it fresh
like in the fleshed out KZ timeline they provided there was that first interstellar war... if they want to start again they could start with that
heck if they want to just make a new Sci-Fi series by all means they could do that too

The problem is not the DVD reading capability, but the emulation capability. Do they have an emulator, that is the problem.
As far as I am aware the PS2 classics for PS3 were actually rebuilt to work specifically with the PS3, so the PS3 wasn't really running the PS2 version of the game per se, but a modified version of it.
If that is brought to PS4 it would have to be adapted again, or an emulator is needed for the adaptation on PS3...

I see this sentiment a lot. I'm curious why you're certain Sony won't support discs only a few months after MS announced they're supporting more difficult to emulate games on the XBox One. Is it because Sony didn't support PS2 discs on newer PS3s? Just pessimistic in general?
It's not like Sony sells a system that plays PS2 discs any more. It's a used PS2, out of production and delicate PS3, or nothing.
Some were CDs, most were DVDs. The PS4 can read CDs (check the specs in the paper manual that came with your system), it just doesn't.

I see this so much. No, PS2 classics weren't modified. Hackers on CFW can run unmodified PS2 ISOs on any PS3 just fine using the emulator Sony uses for PS2 Classics. The compatibility isn't great, but many games that don't push the system too hard work fine, including (surprise) all the PSN classics. The modification story was early speculation from people pessimistic about the PS3 being able to emulate PS2 games and apparently it spread like wildfire.

It can play DVDs and if Sony uses an emulator for PS1 and PS2 games on the PS4, then it would support discs unless they opted to lock out that functionality a la Wii U and Gamecube games or current PS3's and PS2 games.

Didn't one of the Driveclub devs after the season pass was finished say they wanted to keep the content coming? I feel like we will see something along the lines of season 2 or even a teaser for Driveclub 2.

You are wrong. PS2 games can be played on new PS3 models using custom firmware. The PS2 classics are emulated, but the emulator is far from perfect and the catalog is huge, which is probably why Sony locks out disc support.

Why? Paris Games Week is a good opportunity to do that. Gran Turismo 6 was announced at Silverstone UK, released 6 months later. GT has historically been stronger in the European markets and my conjecture is that Gran Turismo 7 will launch alongside PlayStation VR with support (not exclusive to VR), so announcing it now gives sufficient time in releasing in a similar time-frame to GT6.

Most likely Driveclub DLC, so maybe something like Season Pass 2. Sony's flagship IP having a major reveal is another matter. I don't think there is any conflict for attention for brand new Season Pass information for release either immediately after the conference or the following month, and announcement for Sony's biggest racer for release the next year.
