Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Scrub could you check my post above please :X

yeah I did a search for the illust files and only came up with a test file in the develop folder... so the pc demo doesn't seem to contain any assets from story mode. There are folders to indicate modes we'd expect though like story mode, tutorial, and survival.

You do know his HK and EX fireball is already cancelable right? With MK and LK too, he would not gain much except for mobility, as they are already 0 and -4 on block, and the roll doesn't change that much.
Doesn't the HK fireball have a considerable startup? EX is whatever, it costs meter

Yeah, fireball wars would be near impossible against him (his anti-fireball roll gets boosted near fullscreen).

I do agree that his V-Skill flip should have less recovery if you don't divekick. As of right now, you have to be super careful every time you use it.

The anti fireball roll is not great against fireballs, and is very punishable if whiffed (But noone punish it yet ofc, they don't know/are not ready). I seriously don't see that much changing since he can already boost himself with HK fireball, but I might be very wrong:P

It's not that great normally, but with the wind boost? It's incredible! It goes nearly fullscreen, like Abel's SF4 U1 distance on it, and goes way faster too (by observation, frame data may prove otherwise).

One gimmick I did with V-trigger out was to condition them to block with 1-2 grounded dive kicks (watch out for supers on reaction), then followup with a fullscreen roll into throw.

mean to ask in here:

so there will be a DLC pack near release for sure, but after that, what do you guys think? do the second pack before or after EVO? both?

Yes, will seem great in the beginning, but imagine Abel could only roll after a wheel kick (I know it's not nearly comparable, but I mean: you KNEW when he could roll), then you would be ready to punish that every time. Rashid has way more recovery on his roll and is vulnerable during the whole thing. I just think it would be fun for him to have even more mobility as he is a parkour character!

2 characters at launch would sound about right

My guess is at least one or two characters right out of the gate, but going through story mode and everything the first time will give you a good chunk of fight money to easily cover one before the real grind sets in. Gets people rolling with DLC without being too off-putting early on.

has single player fight money been confirmed?

So kind of a bummer that UE Viewer won't load actual stage geometry... but here's some fun texture maps for whoever wants

EDIT-hmmm actually can view/extract stage geometry that is rigged like the sheep, etc... but not static meshes like the Egyptian statues behind the waterfall
Regarding the folder with the "character select" screen assets:
Content\MenuAsset\CharaSelectGFx

Can you extract them? Seems it has the icons for 16 characters.

Yes.

Yeah those files were the first ones I extracted... they're just frames of the animated vs logo and various UI stuff from the select screen. Everyone's select portraits are actually in their character folders, same goes for stage icons.

People talking about seasons and packs etc. I don't like the idea. I would prefer Capcom just release a new character one at a time. Keeps the game interesting with a constant flow of new content. In fact I think Capcom has stated they want people to use their Fight money or real money for a character they want and not all characters will appeal to someone so you don't have to get a character if you don't want them. So making packs doesn't make sense as you are forced to buy characters you don't want. And people suggesting themed packs such as Shoto and Alpha. This is awful. I prefer variety and not characters from one series or fighting style. I'd prefer if Capcom randomly release Guile, then Urien, then Eagle, then Hagger. I prefer the most random order to keep things surprising and keep every fan base happy.

Anyways my prediction
Urien and Alex will be Day 1 DLC that can be bought with Fight money. Story Mode will give enough Fight money to unlock both characters right away.

Then a month down the line we will get
Guile

Following month
Juri

Following month
Balrog

Following month
Ibuki

I'd put my bet on this over seasons too. Plus seasons make even less sense in the context of people's ability to unlock them via IGC.

It's going to be a lot of DLC. Why don't to make packs and save some money?

True that perhaps have a yearly season pass as an option but i would still prefer Capcom release a character one at a time in ther own pace without time limits and release schedules. But please no season themes. I don't just want to see Street Fighter 3 characters for a year to have a Season called SF3. Or have a year of Shotokan to have a season called Shotokan. Please just release characters at random, I wanna see Sean then I wanna see Maki.

I think it's obvious these character are going to get bunched up and sold as packs or seasons. So yea, what Yurinka said. I don't think we'll see themes to a pack, like a FF pack or whatever. Maybe we all characters are out, but I think 'season' would aim to please everyone.

Can you please link me to a article or a tweet or hint thay Capcom mentions this as I don't see it as obvious. In fact I see the opposite happening and characters released 1 buy 1 based on the panel where one of the guys mentions we want people to buy characters they want and not forced to buy characters they don't use. I clearly remember one of the Capcom developers has said this on the panel. I cannot ever remember Capcom stating they plan to release in packs.

Either could happen. Or both. Release packs at a discount for the amount of chars you're getting but you can still unlock each individually with MAH FIGHT MONEY

I am not really familiar with that game. How does that IP release new characters?

They hype and then release characters one by one, a couple months apart. I'm thinking this game will go that way, but for the first year, it'll probably be a character every month or every two months to keep things fresh and exciting.

If the rates stay the same, I think it will cost around 10k fight money for a character. Seems pretty fair. Took me like 30 hours to get that much.

That seems like too much given the current rates if they're online ranked only. Especially when you consider Stages, Costumes and maybe Colors might require Fight Money to unlock.

I think the characters are gonna cost a lot though. There needs to be an actual incentive to buy them with real money. Those characters aren't cheap to make.

you should get used to the thought of the characters costing a crazy amount of points. They aren't going to make it easy for you to unlock every character as they come out. They want you to spend real money on the characters and there will certainly be a ton of fight money dumps like palette swaps that can only be obtained with fight money so that you need to eventually spend real money

Yeah makes sense

I expect

February - Game releases

2 DLC characters to get people started day 1 or atleast month 1. With story mode Fight money they can be easily afforded so they will be practically free.

After that we will get a character every 5 to 8 weeks. So we will get about 10 characters a year. Between each characters released we will get other content such as new stages, music, challenges, colors, costumes, taunts etc to keep us busy using our Fight money or real money for other things while we wait for new characters. Before a character is released I expect them to atleast get announced a month before so professionals can get early access and mess around with the character to help balance the new added character into the roster.

The more time and effort it takes players to unlock characters with Fight Money, the less they'll use Fight Money on anything else that can be bought with it. With F2P transactions, you need drip feeding to keep players coming back to give them the illusion of progress. If that progress illusion is too great, people stop. Also, considering this is a gamers type of game, gamers are much more prone to be pissed off about excessive rates.

Considering how many female wrasslers have big ass boobs about the same size as Mika's, it doesn't even make sense to make them smaller nor would it be any more realistic than what they currently are.

Her boobs aren't even bitchin-worthy big anyway, just crazy huge in a nice looking well. Complaint ain't even at all warranted.

Oh I'm not complaining. And I know SF has never been about realism, but Mika looks better with smaller breasts. That YouTube video where the user was adjusting here chest size gives you an idea.

They will either have a Season Pass, release the characters one by one like KI or in packs like MKx.

I really doubt this. Capcom love money too much. I bet they know the fans would buy everything one buy one anyway. Or they are hardcore enough to earn enough Fight money. Basically I reckon Capcom wanna put you in a situation like. "Oh yeah I got Fight money, but have enough for one character. Oh well I'll use Fight money to get Akuma, buy Ibuki, and just unlock Dan later if I earn enough Fight money as I don't care for him too much"

Also a bundle wouldn't make too much sense after releasing all the characters. What if you already got some of the characters in the bundle with your Fight money. I doubt they would give you a discount. Personally I don't see bundles ever happening. To me i think Capcom want the illusion of unlocking and progressing and a bundle defeats the purpose of having a variety of things to use your Fight money or real money for. I also think Capcom wanna move away from having editions/bundles/seasons like they did with Super etc and go the League of Legends route.

Keep one thing in mind guys.

When you buy stuff, you'll buy Bison Dollars, I mean Zenny. You're not buying individual things, but in-game currency to buy things.

I like this.

I think it'd be better for characters to be around 5000-7000 FM, but who knows how much they're gonna make them. Things like completing story mode, clearing character trials or winning tournament mode (if they decide to bring it back) will mostly likely give you a lot more than you get by just playing matches.

Also, I'm assuming they'll do this but if they don't I hope they tell us the amount of FM you need before the character comes out so you can save up instead of buying other things.

I think 5000 is the sweet spot, personally. However, if they were double that, based on the current speed of Fight Money acquisition, I think that would be acceptable, but just barely (and not everyone would see it that way). Anything more than that and they are being ridiculous.

I think we can kind of get an idea from the beta on how much characters will be. The stage was 2000 Fight Money, right? While tags and profile stuff was like 25/50/100 or so? So I'd assume a character will be worth the most out of anything bought with Fight Money, so I think 5000 sounds like a reasonable number.

(Even though I barely made like 300 Fight Money after playing the beta for several hours.)

Three hundred is just six wins. So, once you get more time with your character, you will be picking up that money FAR more frequently.

Lmao if you guys think characters are going to be that cheap then your guys are going to be seriously disappointed. They made it clear that players that are dedicated to the game are.most likely the ones getting rewarded. Not someone that can get it in a day.
