Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I'm a part time xbox user. Haven't touched it since last year. Bought halo 5 after work and popped it in. 20 mins later. Still installing. Wtf. Ps4 barely takes a minute before I can start playing. Is this normal?

I just want to play halo lol

Edit: great now it's updating. U can't even play single player while this is happening? This is just ridiculous.

The 60fps makes a huge difference as well. The only thing I miss from Destiny while I'm playing this is double jump.

I hear that, played five rounds of Warzone and lost them all, mainly tried to focus on killing the npcs as I'm not that good of a shot. Wish it had just a feeeeew more npcs but other than that, really am having a blast. The movement in particular feels awesome and I did manage to ground pound someone. Certainly my highlight of the night!

Pretty sure the big update hasn't gone live yet. It was scheduled for yesterday but the Google Play Store has the 20th down for last update. It'll get sorted I hope.
 
Still stuck at 52%. What a great release night watching everyone else play while this fails to download. Fucking rage inducing. Might just go to bed. GG Halo.
 
Gonna feel really weird jumping back and forth between this and Destiny, with the 60 and 30 fps difference. These might be the only two games I'll stick with this winter. Maybe Fallout 4.
 
Got Venator Thraex legendary helmet. I guess I can stop playing now. My favorite helmet. I guess I'll play for the armor now. I like these req packs.I feel like I'll lose a lot of money though.
 
Ok... The 60fps is glorious and the campaign looks mighty fine. I only played the first mission.

Played 3 games of slayer. Feels a bit slower than the beta. Wtf Orion. That spawn trap near the sniper spawn.
 
Hey guys, is this worth getting a console for? Obviously there are other Xbone games I want to play, but Halo 5 (and likely future Halos) is the main reason I'm considering one.

Specifically, is this game worth it for the multiplayer alone? I have nothing but complete apathy for the story of Halo and don't really like one player fps games anyway.

Best Multiplayer since Halo 2. And campaign should be a lot of fun with friends to do CO-OP.
 
I'm reading online that best buys sold the game at 9pm on the west coast?

Is this true? Are best buys still open now...?

Having to double tap a button and then pressing another button is nowhere near as convenient as taking screenshots in previous games, then there's the fact that any screenshots taken won't be in the game for fileshares (which don't even exist at this time). I think it's really dumb.
Oh and on top of that taking screen shots in previous games pushed the draw distance way out and cleaned up the IQ, xbox system screenshots can't do that.

I played an insane amount of Halo 3 multiplayer and loved it. Barely played Halo 4.

This game is definitely of the Halo 3 variety. I will be playing a heck of a lot of this for a long while.

If you have the money and have a bunch of games you want to play, I'd say go for it. Personally I'd get an X1 for this if I didn't already own one. But ymmv.
 
Took me 1 hour 17 minutes to complete the first two levels on heroic. I sense a conspiracy!


The game sure makes a killer first impression. The game just feels so spectacularly good. Can't wait to play so, so much more.

Picked up an Xbox One for this - and other multiplayer shooters to play with my friends. Not too many of them have a PS4.

The pumpkin ale is quite good.

That's fantastic to know. No friends to co op with unfortunately, literally all my gaming friends are on PS4. Xbones just aren't selling in Australia.

One followup question though, I know its really early, but is there any potential of the community evaporating ala Halo 4?
 
Jesus, was so frustrated at myself, kept pressing right thumb stick for zoom and B for melee, fucked up so many kills and got myself killed myself nonstop. Changed it to a better layout and now it's how I like.

1-2 Mbps downloading.
Ran the detailed network stats and my console was 21 Mbps down and 6 up.

Oh well it's installed already and updating. Bed time for me have fun GAF!
 
Just played mission 1. I had started on heroic, but restarted on Legendary since Heroic is too easy with revives. Legendary feels great, since your performance and your squad orders become more meaningful. Took me a while to get used to the controls, but I think I've settled on helljumper. Knights are really fun to fight now, popping them in the face right after an armpit blowout is so satisfying.

Graphics, sound, presentation, etc. all look marvelous. Though animations running at 30 is by far the most noticeable flaw IMO. If they can patch that, I'd appreciate it a bunch.

Looking forward to the rest of the campaign tomorrow as I have roommates who want to sleep.
