Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Yeah so my local Walmart didn't even fucking have the game. At all. Nowhere. Not even in the back. (Well to be fair my roommate did try to warn me, they didn't even get Destiny TTK in on release day)

Had to drive 20 miles through this Patricia leftover mess to the next closest one, they had it in their security room.

(Closest Gamestop was 40 miles away, closest best buy was 60 so my options were limited. Luckily my former hometown Walmart pulled through for me)

Time to install then sleep while the update downloads.

Should've just got it digital at that point.

Just posted this in the Reviews thread as well, but wanted your opinion.

After watching the stream I linked a couple of posts ago, I came to a realization. Do you think that these reviewers played the campaign solo only and then reviewed/rated the campaign? I noticed some don't even bring up co-op play in their reviews or ratings.

I ask because what if these reviewers didn't play the game as intended, *ah-em* co-op *ah-em*, but rather by themselves. Thereby missing out on the crazy shenanegins of what playing with friends would bring. Potentially leading into lower ratings?

stealth dammit 343 please bring back splitscreen so I can share the joys of this game with my friends when I visit post ^_^

Well, about 6 or 7 warzone matches down so far, gotta say I'm loving it. Opening REQ packs is more fun than I thought.

Still looking for a team though, GT is Zeta Ori

Wow my first impression is a disappointment. People are leaving arena left and right, and I don't see that changing much what with all the kids and whiners I'm hearing in chat. Movement feels like a clunky mix between old Halo and modern shooters, that seems like it should be fast but instead feels creepingly slow.

What pisses me off the most is the sensitivity. I've gotten used to always using the highest sensitivty, and Halo 5's is by far the slowest of any recent shooter I have played. In the time it takes to adjust my aim from someone's shoulder to their head they've gotten 1-2 shots through my visor and I'm dead. And you'd better hope Phil will personally descend from the clouds and help you if you miss a melee, because doing a 360 will take you longer than downloading this patch did.

I hope I enjoy Warzone.

Nice! Got 2 Warzone games in before work. (Those hours will feel like glue :/)
Game is GREAT but what really impressed me, from selecting to start to in game 24 player action was like 15-20 seconds. I think i never had a game matchmade that fast ever...

Loving the campaign so far. 5 missions in. Game is tons of fun. Soooo many enemies to blast. Much more dense than previous games in terms of number of enemies.

Finished the story. 7 hours and 36 minutes on Heroic. I have one word: Meh.

I don't even know. Considering Halo 4's campaign was actually pretty damn decent - at least in terms of story - I was expecting a lot with this one. The potential was certainly there. Just feels rushed.

I wish I still had the time to invest in this game like I did the other ones, I felt pretty confident in my Halo skills until getting on tonight after not touching a FPS for a month or two. I'm getting destroyed in the Arena and I don't see myself playing this game too much, because the skill gap seems like it'll be unreasonable.

Ok that metal thing that came with the Guardians console is stupidly complex. Not only are the parts tiny and require baby hands, it's like...

....WHY CAN'T YOU LOOK AT GUNDAM KITS FOR INSPIRATION

Warzone might be more fun if you are feeling overwhelmed.

There were a lot of narrative threads that were underdeveloped. The game didn't need to be any longer, it just did everything too superficially.

And that's just scratching the surface of the story problems.

Wanted to at least get through the Campaign on Heroic in one sitting, but I'm.just too tired. May also be a part of the reason I'm not quite accustomed to the controls just yet; hopefully some rest along with the Elite controller arriving tomorrow will help out in that regard.

Not even gonna touch multiplayer until the controls are no longer an issue. :p

Fuck, I wasted a banshee and a spartan laser to get Baron Sroam health down all by myself and some doofus on the other team uses a sniper and somehow gets the final kill on him from so far away. That's gonna drive me crazy because killing him would've gotten me the achievement.

You're lucky. That was every single kill on mechassault for me.

Edit. Goddamnit the sun is coming up.

Had San amazing experience tonight. Liked Warzone (though teams just ignore objectives) but absolutely loved Breakout. Super fun game mode.

I want to play more but I'm an adult with work in the morning now. Woe is me.

Playing it on heroic and just got to mission 7, definitely seems like the game is really short.

Really enjoying it so far, though. I'm interested in what's going on in the story and the levels are pretty damn good.

Spoilers for mission 3, I believe.

Glad that Cortana survived, her + chief = the best

Any reccomendations for a good headset for the xbox one? What are you guys rocking?

If you have the new headset or an adapter then you can get great deals on Sennheiser and Sony MD series studio cans, I've heard good things about the Xbone branded ones but my main go to now is my Astro A40s. I have A50s too but I like the simplicity of the 40s.

Well just spent $300+ on Xbox stuff, limited edition and the elite controller...the canadian dollar is so brutal right now. Its like 1998 up here. Installing now to sleep or not to sleep that's the question.

I'm not touching Arena till I have the controls down. Still not comfortable enough. I keep switching between recon and default. Recon matches my Halo memory, but then Default is because I've been playing so much Destiny Taken King last month. So many times I've made a mistake like throwing a grenade when I wanted to thrust, spartan charge instead of thrust, etc.

I really like what I've played so far. I think once the general wonkiness of Warzone goes away and people learn the maps, strategies, how to kill enemies, it'll get much tougher and matches will be much closer. Vehicles feel a bit different to me too. Banshee probably controls the best.

Madness thinkin' along the same lines, I see.

It'll be a while, buddy; get some rest. :p

I have no idea what it is, maybe it's just me needing to adjust or having put way too many hours in Destiny, but the controls and movement feel very clunky and slow so far into Halo 5. (First two missions complete)

Also in regards to story:
I really don't like how things are being presented so far. There really isn't much depth to the current cutscenes and is fairly scarce on the important details.
"Oh yeah Cortana is alive by the way" Felt really rushed, especially how everyone except Roland just casually knew
Also feels as if there are literally cutscenes missing (in between the ones already presented after chapter 2).

Just had a tense match on Breakout, won 5-4, had a clutch round too.

One of the best modes in any Halo, ever.

It should also be noted, I'm not really all that competitive focused, but the e-sports competitive mode is the highlight so far. That speaks to 343i's talent.
