Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Yup, it's down. Crazy, because I just picked up my physical copy with what I hope were my pre-order bonuses and yet I can't view and open the REQ pack.

Did anyone else who went to Gamestop/EB Games get separate codes, or was it just one? I'm supposed to have Locke armor, some BR skin etc.

Are there no additional default options that unlock as you go up in rank during a match? Its purely AR and pistols throughout the match unless you have REQ cards?

Or offline bots, which I'd love. That's my preferred way to learn maps before jumping into online team matches.
 
Ahhhhhh yeah, this is the stuff. This... is Halo.

Loving the story so far, but I'm gonnna have to do another run through on my lonesome so I can hear the in-mission dialogue better and listen to the audio tapes. The cutscenes have been amazing, but I do feel that they're a smidge too short; we're only on mission 3, but the end of mission 2 could have used another scene or two, especially the one with Roland.

Internet speed is essential these days, I had it installed in about as long as it took to make breakfast.

This happened to me, I was so confused. I didnt play well enough to be "gold" anything.
 
The campaign gameplay was pretty great. I think it stands up there with the original three.

Story was by far the worst in the series.

Ok so I bought a physical copy and put the disc in my Xbox and it asked if I wanted to do the update and I said sure. Sitting at 96 percent after a few hours. I should be good to go after this right?
 
Wtf. My advanced promotional REQ pack code was redeemed, but it's not showing up in my requisitions right now. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still nothing.

Dont tell me the system was down and so it didn't register it and now I'll never get the Locke armor/EBGames stuff.

What reqs are permanent, like let's say when I hit level 4 I always know I can go grab that gun?

I like that I can trade in all my vehicle cards for money back, I will never use those

3 missions in and the gameplay and set prices are fantastic

But damn if this game doesn't look like ass because of the variable resolution, at certain time the game almost looks like 480p. Everything looks so soft and jaggy. Really wish they would have made it 30fps(or release a win 10 version)
 
I'm fine with a four player focused campaign but revival mechanics are usually the worst. Priority one is unlocking the Iron skull now, wish I had the option from the start.
 
Has anyone been able to redeem advanced promotional REQ packs? I see it installed, but it happened when the system was down and I don't have any REQs to open in game.

Just finished the campaign on heroic.

Gameplay may be the best in the series. Weapons and movement were fantastic. Also found it pretty tough at some stages. Level design was amazing. Verticality and exploration to a huge amount. More than any other halo game. Made encounters great. Some of the levels are up there with the best.
I liked the downtime sections as well, although there could have been more conversations or scripted screens during them. Dangerous thing to do however, some people hate non combat sections and even skip epic cut scenes. 343 wisely made it almost skippable (friend did one mission in like 30 seconds, while mine was 15 mins).

The story is good, yet some of the execution just wasn't. I'm saying this from my perspective as a fan of the lore. 343 needs to solve the problem of telling a complex story with so much universe and history, yet a newcomers and the semi interested can understand. It can still be complex but find a way to distill that info into digestible ideas. They need a fucking codex. Do it. If you give people the option, simply you will grow your lore audience. And don't put it on way point, put it in the game.
Anyone feel like there must be cutscreens missing? There are jumps in character motivations that were odd.

I'll go into more detail in a spoiler thread later, but overall, I really enjoyed the first play through. And the real magic is the framerate and the guns/movement combat. Incredible. They really fucking nailed it.
 
Is Gold 1 in Arena good or bad?

I know Gold is usually means good but I lost like half my qualifying matches. The wins I carried though so who knows.
