Batman Arkham Knight PC re-release Oct. 28th

Beat AK yesterday. Game has a serious MGS 1 vibe storywise, with many twists. Also pretty emotional. Haven`t played such a thrilling game for years.
Looks gorgeous in 3K@~60FPS or 4K with 45FPS cap. I`m excited to come back after the patch releases. Bats Arkham Knight: my GOTY 2015.

huh...can you explain?

I probably had the exact opposite reaction to the story.

You guys think it will be a part of the steam Halloween sale? It's sort of appropriately themed, and it's a good excuse to give a goodwill discount.

Those plot twists, that atmosphere and those great emotional moments, some shocking, some disturbing. I really felt involved, I cared about the characters (though I`m not a comic nor a Batman fan). The story is told so well and so thrilling.
That`s it I`d say. :)

If it's not in tip-top shape then this is nothing but a symbolic release, a really misguided attempt at saving face, because it could blow on their faces all over again.

This is what I assumed when they first pulled it... if they had just released patches without pulling the game from sale, people would have been very unsure of whether it would ever actually be fully fixed at all. No one would had the faith to stick around to wait for the patches.

By removing it from the store, they were openly inviting intense scrutiny and judgement when the final version went back up. Obviously, people would want to know if it was truly fixed and game journalists would be testing it and reporting on its performance when the game relaunched. By accepting that kind of critical attention, they were tacitly assuring us that the game would be fully fixed and capable of withstanding that kind of test. It was the only gesture they could make that would prevent people from refunding after the launch debacle.

There's a chance that it was all bullshit and that they once again just did what they could to dupe gamers into keeping the game instead of refunding. I doubt they wanted to spend much time and money fixing this... they didn't even want to spend the time and money to finish the game in the first place. But if the game were to still have issues then they've blown their chance at a relaunch, few new customers will buy and any remaining holdouts will get refunds. They'll have wasted whatever work they put into updating.

We'll have to see. I'm hoping they've made good on their promise and fully fixed the texture and stuttering issues, but I can easily see them just saying "fuck it, good enough" again and leaving the performance where it was after the last patch.

For the game back on steam with the updates? I think they said 1pm EST today.

Thx.

This info would be more helpful if you posted your rig as well.

For you.
Nah, it's a Steam key.

Can I already redeem it or do I have to wait for the release?

If it came with a Nvidia card, then it isn't a steam key. It needs to be redeemed through the Nvidia website which will put the game directly on your steam account, you never actually get a steam key out of it.

So chances are that you can't redeem it anymore.

Huh this is interesting:

I guess there's your free shit

GOOD.

Not giving anything would be stupid as shit.

Free older game is not too shabby. I have Asylum and City, but Origins I might get around to playing at some point.

I wonder if they get added automatically or if they add the games to your inventory if you have them already? I wouldn't mind trading / selling the games I already have.

I'm just thankful I never got around to purchasing Origins.

Since I was able to score a key way back when for a decent price, I'll take what I can get. While the last patch did a lot to help out the performance issues, I hope this one stabilizes the framerate so it's not so hitchy and random.

Either way, glad they're at least offering some sort of make good, even if it it's somewhat lackluster.

I have a 2GB card, so if there's any chance they've streamlined some of the texture overhead, that'd be much appreciated too.

Will you be able to gift the games you already own? I guess not. Hell, I bought an Nvidia code for this game, I'm probably screwed on that anyway.

This bums me out they didn't even offer any compensation for people who got this on launch day. I couldn't get a refund so it pisses me off. I'm so done with WB and their shit.

They really should have just bit the bullet and re-released as the GOTY edition with all the DLC included for 60 bucks. Most of the DLC is filler junk anyway.

I don't mind the free games though, but reading this thread the paradox is extremely obvious - most people who are interested in AK already own the other games.

So they've labeled all reviews from when the game released on steam as 'pre-release reviews'.
Can you get any more fucking arrogant?
