Batman Arkham Knight PC re-release Oct. 28th

Yeah, this.

I was not mad and didn't expect them to give us anything but then they do this and now i am mad.

What the fuck WB.

Yeah, I wasn't really expecting anything either, but giving us games we already own? That's kind of a fuck you to people who they've already screwed over.

So months later they didn't improve anything that sure is scummy see it will go away on steam again in no time and people will ask refunds.

If people got the season pass already how would that be fair to them if people who didn't buy it get it for free. It would just make more problems and piss a lot of people off again unless they refunded people who purchased in full. But then there are those that didn't buy directly from STEAM.

Do it the same way Ubi did with Unity? They gave season pass owners free copies of their other games, and not this paltry stuff you'd likely already own, people could pick brand new things like Far Cry 4.

Oh come on, its a nice gesture I own only Arkham Asylum already but how are they supposed to know what you own and what you don't.

I think it would be easy to assume that most people have played the previous games in a series. This is literally a trilogy. Plus Origins.

So there's no performance update in the release vs the last patch? They thought it was in an acceptable state to re-release?

Really?? Just the DLC stuff then? Will give it a play this weekend as want to try out the Season pass stuff I picked up.

Just about everyone I know owns the games already including myself, guessing the trade value will plummet as well. If they're going to give away games they published they could have at least given away MKX or Witcher 3 or allow us to choose.

So it's 49.99 at re-release, is that the same price as it was at launch? Or was it 59.99?

It was $60/50€, now it's $50/46€

SteamSpy tells different and surprising story:

Thought they could own non-steam PC version and didn't upgrade it to Steam or console version.

There's a gain on my end but people are hung up on one post where a guy posted a bunch of images of the worthless in-game benchmark with a "its fucking nothing" gif, so now everyone believes the update doesn't do anything.

Has this been posted?

With the game now available for sale, I wanted to provide a status update since the release of the September patch.

As we confirmed earlier today, the PC version of the game now supports all add-on content that has been released thus far for console. The configurations for this content are being updated now and we expect everything to be available in the next few hours. We’ll confirm when this process is completed.

We are still working with our GPU partners to add full support for SLI and Crossfire. In addition, we are working with these partners to address stability issues on certain cards related to the latest drivers.

After extensive testing, a hard drive paging issue with some GPUs on Windows 7 may occur after extended gameplay sessions. If you encounter this, simply re-launching the game will resolve the issue.

For Windows 10 users, we’ve found that having at least 12GB of system RAM on a PC allows the game to operate without paging and provides a smoother gameplay experience.

Hi everyone! I’m going to jump in and help out Yorick as a second pair of eyes and ears for you all.

So apparently you can now buy the DLC. Also, if you have a season pass you may have to wait a couple of days till it activates. But hey, we're used to waiting by now, I guess?

Just tried this for ten minutes on a 4670K+280X.

Eventually, it started stuttering again, the action stopping for full seconds at a time. This patch has done nothing but enable DLC.

Yeah.

Fuck WB.

Fuck Rocksteady.

And fuck their apologists.

welp

im downloading, but that was always my issue too.

guess i'll try since 3 minutes left but yeaaaah...

people sayin VRAM usage is alright are insane. Prettier games have come out since that use it way more efficiently. Congrats on your double Titan Xs or whatever but I should be able to run this shit without turning into a slideshow with a 680. Port just sucks.

How nice, I'll restart my game every 10 minutes.

As expected just adding DLC and leave it there..

I'm strongly debating finally getting my refund and buying the game later when it drops in price. I really want to play now, but for fuck's sake... this doesn't seem worth even the $45 deal I got on GMG, and that standard price is just $5 more than that now.

I came to comment on this:

I demand a Batman vs Google Chrome fight to death. Winner takes all that sweet sweet RAM.

i'll just relaunch the game every 10 minutes when it turns into a complete 1 frame per second slideshow

problem solved. thanks WB for the handy solution

edit: I like how jett and I are posting the same damn thing so you know its a real fucking issue that isnt hardware related

Interesting tidbit.

I have Windows 10 x64, 12GB of Ram, and a 970. I get -terrible- stutter when driving and gliding, which started after the interim patch. Re-downloaded the game to see, and yep, still the same thing.

Not moving this thing to my SSD to see if that fixes the stutter, as I'm saving that space for Fallout. Really though, the game at launch in it's broken state performed better for me. I could get 1440p with everything on/max except smoke & debris and it would stay locked at 30.

Same settings cause frequent dips into the low 20s, and then single digits when it stutters.

Ha, got a steam code with my graphics card. It played rather poorly but it didn't bother me much. A month later Metal Gear V showed up in my steam library for free as compensation.

Now batman is going to be fixed and hopefully will run well in UHD now.

Win fucking win.

or we tested it ourselves and determined it didnt do anything

No real performance improvement.

Added DLC works though!

If it starts stuttering, just restart.

12GB Ram!

Seriously fuck WB, shit publisher.

Oh fuck off WB, I'm glad I got a refund when I did. I would be furious if my compensation was 3 games I already own and a re-release that barely made a difference. I guess I'll be playing this used on console next year

The steam forums are literally full of people complaining of even worse performance than before so you must be extremely lucky then...

WORSE performance is something else entirely - I was responding to the question of whether there were any improvements, since most people were taking the benchmark post as gospel in the performance thread (and again, the benchmark is worthless).
I would have never expected reports of genuinely worse performance... maybe they edited the engine files a few months back? Just trying to think of what I would do to troubleshoot in that situation.
