Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

So I've played enough FFA and Slayer to be ranked in the lower end tiers of the onyx division for each, and I absolutely do not care for this game. Even objectively looking at this game and not thinking of it as an entry in the Halo series, It's just too similar to the other FPS games coming out/currently out, and doesn't handle the mechanics quite as well. Before I start listing my opinions, let me just say that I absolutely LOVED Halo 3 and 4 equally, so it's not just an, "old man yells at cloud" situation.

I think it's odd that some mechanics in the gameplay discourage being the aggressor in multiple target situations (such as the lackluster radar, the sprint stoppage under fire, and the shield charging mechanic where you have to be completely still for it to charge) while others such as the clambering and the poor man's armor boosting says otherwise. It's such a mixed bag of mechanics and it feels as if 343 just took a look at every game out and sprinkled their gameplay into this game.
That's a strange conclusion to draw, since nearly every ability aside from Ground Pound is a natural evolution and progression of Halo Reach and Halo 4.
Thrust is obviously evolved from the thruster pack
Melee charge is a fantastic addition and solution to the Sprint+melee rush that came from the Reach/4 meta. It can now be balanced and is a lovely addition. Risk/reward
and hover/clamber seem to evolve the verticality from the jetpack as well as inject new movement options into map design (even if a lot of the arena maps aren't too great), When the maps are good, every ability feels great. The only time it feels shoe-horned in is when the map is awful like The Rig.

Part of an issue may as well be the learning curve as well, since for a good chunk of people 10 matches isn't nearly enough time to accommodate yourself to everything.

The HUD in this game is ridiculous. I get it, im wearing a helmet. It can be conveyed without taking up half of an already far too small FOV.

Im enjoying this game a fair bit, but its giving me distracting tunnel vision feelings.

I had a few games but now its acting up again. My connection is fine. It just wont connect to any multiplayer games. Even the playlists wont show. Just says retrieving data.

Lame!

If halo wants to do a helmet cam they need to go all the way or none at all, metroid prime for example.

So right now whenever I try to open Halo 5, I'm getting a message that there's an error with my sync data, and now it's not recognizing the Spartan I already customized earlier or that I played through the first campaign missions. Is this just a potential server issue or possibly something else? I mentioned this earlier, but I noticed that the game would not autosave earlier, it kept saying failed. I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall the fucking thing, since the 9 GB patch is going to take a good full day on my internet connection unfortunately.

I've been trying to play this freaking game for the past two days, but father duties prevented me from doing so.

I finally find a freaking hour to myself and I keep getting dedicated servers errors when trying to join a game. Gaming in 2015 is amazing. This shit is infuriating. Glad I'm able to relax and have some fun while my newborn finaly sleeps.

I ignored the Pistol in campaign because I assumed it was like all other pistols in the series (garbage).

I've played 3 multiplayer matches so far. Maybe I should check the Magnum out

Pistol is actually surprisingly powerful in Warzone. My Level 2 start out is just Assualt Rifle and Pistol. Was getting my ass kicked by people getting BRs quickly, switched over to pistol and had far more success and got to my Level 3 load out much faster than I would've had I stayed with BR.

This fucking game man.

I'm so glad 343 finally understood longevity can be attained by good balanced fundamentals.

Carrot on a stick gameplay will only take you so far before it either runs out or you have to keep updating your game.

So I'm on mission 3. Fighting waves of bullet sponges trying to get a big door open to proceed. I saw a room with a rocket launcher in it, went to the roof, busted through a vent and down into the room... and I can't get back out :lol

No doors open, no windows break, vent in the roof is too high to clamber out of. Am I just real dumb and missing a double jump button or something?

Playing a game of Warzone earlier, a teammate decided to take out a boss in a rather unconventional way.

There's a button on the wall.

Next to the door there's a keypad to press to open it

Done with my exams, but Amazon shipped Halo too late, will only arrive tomorrow.
