Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I hear Bumper Jumper is the best for halo. I tried it out, but it felt so weird, I had to switch back.

I'm playing with Recon button layout, and am finiding it best way to play. The only issue is that Ground Pound recquires pressing B, what makes it hard to aim with the right stick. However, since when youre ground pounding you cant move in any form I just use my left hand and it has been working fine!

Well, I should have prefaced that with literally all of the autos are useless for me. I can dump an entire AR clip into someone and they won't die, meanwhile I get shredded cross map by one. I don't understand.
Reset your modem, but seriously I was tearing a new one with the Storm Rifle yesterday, so many were not prepared.

I thought I was pretty good at SWAT before but in this game in just getting wrecked. I don't know what it is. I'm terrible at SWATnums too. It's werid. I'm having a blast though. I'm Onyx rank.

edit: wrong quote

This has happened to me 4 times in a row. I'll be very interested to see how it places me. I got Platinum in arena and did not have this issue. Now that true skill has caught up its matching me with teams of four even though I'm alone I guess. I'm pretty irritated.

Really enjoying the multiplayer. BUT what the hell, it barely cycles maps (not that there are many to begin with) or modes (again). I'm glad the core game is there, but it's feeling light on content.

Or rather, stretched too thin amongst multiple concepts.

Having a lot of fun though, so that's what counts. Just hope there's enough in here to keep me going.

Onyx is the 2nd highest rank, you're fine.

Warzone could really use a map to see where your teammates are spawning so you can split resources better. As it stands, a team will cap the far base, and everyone will spawn in there and we will lose the one close to our base instantly.

Im not a fan of that center base on the snow map. Seems way too easy to defend once its capped. Would be nice to have another entry point from the arc.

why can i not mute everyone after my first game? im in matches with people who just blast music and this one guy who just bitched about how shit the game mode was for an entire match, i open up the scoreboard and press x and nothing happens

oh fucking hell. My whole team was laying fire into the fucking legendary boss and a blue happens to come in, throw a random nade and he gets credited for kill

Man, could rank up/commendation REQ packs be any more shitty? I'm really not a fan of the drip-feed way of getting armor/visors and other customization items in this game. I love customization in Halo and it feels like everything is completely random chance here, something I'm not a big fan of.

Super tempted to drop money on REQ packs.

It's gotten to the point where I don't even care. 6 times I've used Wraiths, spartan lasers, all sorts of REQ's getting the Legendary bosses down to health and dingleberry on the other team gets a random BR shot off that credits him or his grenade gets the final kill lol. The last was me just pounding tankmaster Rok with a fuel rod gun, and yet some guys random grenade gets the final kill for enemy team.

Let's just say... I put the web in cam.

Hrrmm, just got home from work. I can click on 'arena' but can't choose any game type when i get to the next screen. All you can do is back out to the main menu again.

edit- Reboot fixed it.

I don't generally go out of my way to pick 'em up, but I probably should. Used them in a few Empire matches, was nuts. Point, shoot, laugh while they melt.

So I was just going to make a post after completing Mission 3 on how the hell people are beating the game at 6 1/2 hours and then
I played Mission 4. I'm actually really liking the story so far and how Mission 3 was crash landing on a human planet/colony not liking UNSC presence but Mission 4 was literally 5 minutes of running around and getting information from townspeople then boarding a Pelican and it's over. Still some ways to go though

So I'm going to this guy's apartment tomorrow off campus to download this patch. Never met him in real life lol, I just found him on reddit. Wish me luck!

It hasn't happened enough to me yet that I don't just laugh it of as emergent hilarity, but I can see it getting annoying if it happens enough.

You think there could be some kind of 'ownership' meter, not unlike the circles that fill up when capturing a boss, that would increase or decrease with how much damage each team is putting into the boss currently.

So like, if you had 3 red dudes and 1 blue firing BRs at the thing, then the game shows the circle filling at x rate toward red, signifying if the boss dies, they get the kill. If another blue shows up with a rocket launcher or something, and starts hitting the boss, the meter starts reversing towards blue.

Based on the meter, you could decide whether to pump in damage to the boss, call for reinforcements (or other players could see the meter and decide to go help out), or start trying to take out the players taking out the boss, etc.

Seriously though Buck has more personality than everyone in Team Osiris combined.

I honestly think they should have just made the whole ODST crew be Team Osiris. Locke, Vale and Tanaka all had the personalities of cardboard. If the game seemingly didn't have time for characterisation, then at least using existing characters we were familiar with would have helped make Osiris a bit more relatable.

The rest of the ODST team from Halo 3 ODST are either dead, retired, or still a part of ONI. They did all that in the book Halo: New Blood.

Yeah I know, but presumably had they decided on using them in this game then that book wouldn't have gone the way it did.

Man, New Blood pissed me off so much.

It just bugs me that they basically tried to make Locke the Master Chief 2.0. Just your stoic soldier dutifully following orders.

Like, how about somebody with passion? Somebody who gets angry and shows it? Or a smartass like Buck? Or hell, make him a straight up sociopath who seems to enjoy killing Covenant a little toooo much. Anything. Literally any personality apart from the stoic soldier.
