Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

It just bugs me that they basically tried to make Locke the Master Chief 2.0. Just your stoic soldier dutifully following orders.

Like, how about somebody with passion? Somebody who gets angry and shows it? Or a smartass like Buck? Or hell, make him a straight up sociopath who seems to enjoy killing Covenant a little toooo much. Anything. Literally any personality apart from the stoic soldier.

he seemed to have an arrogance about him from the way he reacts to people. He's not totally stoic.

Around about the 8th mission, this is proving to be the best gameplay feel, and I'm still really liking the story, though I can see some of the complaints about it not making sense to non eu people.

Orion has to be one of the worst maps in halo history.

The two base structure is actually fine, the bigger problem is the rocky area where all the movement mechanics fuck up. Seriously not being able to clamber up those rocks makes it hard to get around.

Just finished. Holy shot at that ending. Of to the spoiler thread.

Also, that last boss fight was definitely not meant to be soloed on legendary.

Only problem is, what was the point of Nightfall? There was a direct tie-in in Halo 4 with Lasky and Forward Unto Dawn where he meets Chief again and so you feel that connection. It would've been better if Vale was Talitha Mercer who was also made into a Spartan and her and Locke have a greater dynamic than Buck and Tanaka.

I don't know, I watched the round table with Frankie, Nathan Fillion, Brian Reed, and they even said it's about bringing that larger universe to the gamers. But you can't just force it, it has to be natural. This is a 15 year old series, the majority of the fans will skew older and it's harder to develop that same attachment when you're 38 and with kids, than when you're 11 and in elementary school.

I can't play because I can't download the update. I keep getting an error. Any fixes?

I've done basic troubleshooting, router reboot, console disconnect etc.

Not a good feeling after the MCC debacle.

Damn. The thirst is real.

This is incredible.

Enjoy your kidneys while you still have em..

Don't die bro.

Pls don't..........

Download patch and chill?

Dibs on the liver and kidneys....

lmao guys I think I will be alright. We agreed I would pay him 10 bucks lol. Plus I have about 46% of the patch downloaded so I am getting in then getting the hell out.

Story was pretty decent, I was expecting much worse with what the reviewers were saying about it.

Haven't played much of multiplayer but I'm really liking warzone.

I'm getting like no armor unlocks. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I always go for the gold packs.

Nope. They don't guarantee armor locks, only permanent REQ's which can be load out weapons, certifications, stances, emblems etc. Though you should have gotten some armor already.

I never felt that connection in Halo 4.

In FUD Lasky was saved by the young Chief. At the end of the series you see Lasky hear the FUD's distress call and send the Infinity to save the Chief.

In the game itself, The Infinity comes to Requiem because a science team got wiped out and a forerunner symbol led them there. And when the game ends Lasky informs the Chief that he grew up in the Corbullo military academy - something the Chief already knows, and that Lasky would know he knows.

There was a disconnect even with Halo 4.

i kinda hate the way this game feels

jump height feels too low, there's some kind of deadzone issue aiming wise, movement speed feels bad...idk, im enjoying this less than I did halo 4

i found an smg on the ground with a funky holographic design in front of the muzzle. it disintegrated enemies on kill. dang i want that

So I'm going to this guy's apartment tomorrow off campus to download this patch. Never met him in real life lol, I just found him on reddit. Wish me luck!

good luck on not getting murdered ;)

Jump feels the exact same. No problems with movement speed either.

The auto aim is severely toned down so it has a much higher learning curve. Anyone coming from 4 and expecting to completely have all their BR skills transfer over are going to be surprised.

Not having
the Didact
in the game was a bad move. They needed
him
I think.

Halo 2 ending > 5

I thought most of the missions were too straight forward and typical Halo. While that's not bad, I wanted more open areas and vehicle battles. More phaeton areas would've been cool.

Liking things mostly, although the look mechanic feels so much different then the beta. Weird acceleration issues when nearing max turn speed. Apparently 343 said it was intentional because the pros suggested it. IMO, it's not as tight aim wise as the beta.

Report back after you've beat mission 14.

Spoilers for mission 14
It took me 2 hours for the most bullshit Warden(s) fight in the game.

Didn't quite take me that long, but yeah, that fight is extremely demanding on Legendary. You have to use a binary rifle to manage each one so they don't charge and sandwich you while simultaneously dealing tons of damage to one particular target at a time.

Is it me or does the BR feel sorta inconsistent? Sometimes it feels like there is a lot of aim assist and sometimes it feels like it won't hit what I'm aiming at past 5 meters.

I kinda had a bad checkpoint at the start of it where both Fred and Linda were killed in the room previous and hadn't respawned. It made taking just one of them down a really pain in the ass, and then the first time I got one of them, it didn't checkpoint and I got hit by the homing orb of bullshit.
