Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

lol, I'm climbing my way out of Platinum in Team Arena, no Jansport here.

I still haven't played much. Went like 5-10 and just knew that was the end of any above diamond hopes. Probably will get gold or lower in slayer. I'm still not comfortable with the skill gap, lower aim assist, especially coming off a solid month of Destiny PvP nonstop.

It will click. I felt the same thing at first and then booooop it all clicked.

I don't know. I think some of us just have to accept the best days are behind us for Halo MP. I was watching that episode 4 of the Sprint, when the cartographers were showing their maps, and the guy was like, oh yeah I put this here so you can sprint, thrust, jump and stabilizer across and etc. That's stuff I'll never be able to do. I can barely get my head wrapped around incorporating thrust and sprint and spartan charge effectively. And if you watch the pros they're giving tips like how to crouch jump and crouch clamber to the railgun on fathom as if it's so easy etc.

I'm so shit at this game, it bums me the fuck out. I wouldn't say I'm amazing at Halo or anything but I never had any issues getting 2.0 K/Ds in most matches that I played.

In this game, though, I struggle to even go positive. I keep dying and barely ever knowing who or what is shooting at me, it's really frustrating.

I feel the same. In halo 2, I felt like I could beat most anyone I came across cept for those mlg players (actually got my ass kicked by ogre 1 and 2) but, it's been so long, I just feel out of it. Hoping I get my groove back, I see hints of it. Doesn't help that my destiny muscle memory is kind of screwing me up.

Game just feels so good to play. Not as light as Titanfall, but not too heavy either.

Also, I just got done with mission 5, 6? It's one of the really really short ones. I know you sit enraptured by this thread Stinkles so I'm telling you, I need a Halo RPG.

Yea, me and Erik WK had some special teammates yesterday, I'm not sure I won more than a couple of my placement Arena matches, heh.

This whole paragraph encompasses exactly why this Halo multi is so fucking good.

Yea I am feeling sort of like this too. If I feel like this when Battlefront drops I'll switch over to that . Still having fun don't get me wrong.

Campaign is bomb so far too.

I've been practicing sprint, slide, jump, boost and I'm getting pretty slick at chaining things.

Stinkles, will there be a Weekend Social playlist this weekend, and if so where can we vote for it?

Just had my first "american" hosted match, I was being 3 shot because I was never seeing the 4th or 5th hit in combat,

The lag is hidden well but you can tell when you're playing against people with 200+ ping

It's just Halo zoom with a new look, it's fine.

Speaking of, I got that BR with the old school zoom on it today, and holy fuck it feels so claustrophobic compared to the default one.

Have you got the silenced one?

It has no vibration, really weird feeling.

Also people DO NOT sleep on the needler.

How do people ever get anything done when there's so many photo ops waiting in Theatre mode.

Oh yeah. I mean I'd have loved if this game came out when I was 14 and had the eyes of a hawk and reflexes of a hawk. But now, I just know I won't be able to master this. This is how Halo should be. Easy to pick up and play, which it is, but hard to master. I don't think since CE will the skill gap be evident for players. We're going to see some magical stuff happen by pro players in this game.

How does the rank system work?

I have a buddy in the diamond division that goes super negative in every match. And i'm here going positive stuck in the platinum group.

I think this is part of my problem, by the time I feel a hit I am already dead and can't react to it, yet I can blow an entire clip in the back of someone's head and they can turn around and kill me lol, I'm sticking with it but it's pissing me off knowing I am at a massive disadvantage just because I am not near a data center.

Still can't nail down aiming either, maybe that has something to do with latency too who knows. Aim speed 5 so far, 6 seemed almost worse I think I need like 4.5 lol.

That because the sides are entirely black, whereas in past games, it was clear or at least transparent. I think there is the middle one that works much better for me. I have one that has an ACOG on it. And then there is the Longshot version that gives you the same DMR scope. I use the acog sentinel BR so much, it's so weird using the horned one with the giant power symbol iron sights.

Yay got it all working. Not a fan of war zones. Req system is also confusing as fuck. Seems a bit convoluted but I'll get it after a few.

Main question is how do you leave a match while it's looking for people? It auto joined me to another game after finishing one then said it would punish me for leaving

The Longshot is the one I'm talking about. The horn version gives you the clearest view, and probably even more clear than the old game's zoom, because even those had a black tint on the outer part.

Warzone can be a lot to take In at first, and can be confusing at start. Give it some more trys maybe you'll feel different.

I really love warzone right now, just feels different from the rest. Warzone and breakout have been awesome. Get a group of friends and warzone can be amazing

Getting a 2.0 K/D in most Halo matches would make you pretty damn amazing at Halo, unless we're talking social.

Like I said, I don't think I'm a great player or anything like that but my performance in current/beta Halo 5 really bums me out. I've never had this many issues playing against other players.

Are you saying Halo 5 is gaming's No Country For Old Men?

Just as an aware, if buying the LE the Warzone REQ bundle will not apply to more than one person on your console like for example, map packs. MS considers them microtransactions. Wish I would have understood that before purchase.

Page No. 117 yo
This is history. Pg. 117 of the first OT.

Just finished the campaign. I liked it, but I hope the direction of Halo 6 is more nuanced than it feels right now.

I'm kind of hoping Cortana is actually right and is bringing the Halo universe into a 'Culture'-type utopia. The AI would be very similar to the minds.

Is there a reason why half the maps in this game are just variations of each other

Seems like while 343 went all out with gameplay, they really cheaped out on the maps. They made only a few maps, made remixes of them to save time, then forged the rest because fuck it. Forge maps seriously should not be part of the starting lineup.
The single player has some really nice natural environments with aesthetics that would be wonderful for multiplayer maps. Imagine maps set on
the forerunner planet or sanghelios
. Instead the maps we get are basically 'Grey Boxes and Tubes #5.' Step it up 343!

I assume the "free dlc" maps will be like 90% forge maps as well. The gameplay may be great, but get ready for the ugliest halo multiplayer yet. Hoping to be proven very wrong.

Just finished my fith game of Warzone in a row - quick connects, no dropped frames or screen tearing and pretty much all European players. So happy it's been a successful launch.

And Warzone fucking rocks, it's all I'll play until BTB releases, too scared to go into the Arena.
