Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Yeah. Put me in the "Warzone sucks" camp. Don't find the mode enjoyable at all.

It sounds totally awesome in theory but in practice the player flow totally sucks and its just a bunch of people throwing themselves at each other in the middle. I feel like I'm accomplishing nothing in that mode.

I think it would be improved by having vehicles on the map but then their microtransaction scheme wouldnt work anymore so that's not happening. Gotta convince people to more freely use their reqs.

I'd feel better about the whole REQ thing if the "automatic" packs you get for leveling and commendations weren't filled to a tee with garbage you already have 12 of. But no, to get anything good you have to go look at the screen that is like heeeeey spend some real money.
Sell the items and buy yourself a silver pack

I know BTB is coming later - I know, I know. But is anyone else feel like this game is missing something severe without maps supporting vehicles (outside of Warzone)? Not trying to whine... it just makes the whole game feel incomplete to me.

Yeah, playlists could be more fleshed out.

Missing Forge since that is usually my go to tool to get a hang of and try new weapons.

I see a lot of people are having problems with the 3 wardens section and it's really not that bad. I played it on heroic and even though I didn't beat it my first try it only took me about 20 minutes. All your really have to do it have the scatter shot and just bait them one at a time. Then just go ham on the orb in the back and I can kill one in about 5 shots if u connect all them. I enjoyed the campaign a hell of a lot and it is propley my favorite halo campaign besides the story but I honestly never cared for the story in halos.

Yea - There was a solid post on Reddit I linked earlier. Talks about lack of map variety, forge not being out effectively means no custom game modes, its basically slayer for days with flag.

@Silly, I sell all my reqs really so I don't usually have any to use. Warzone is mostly my decompress mode, but the maps being effectively the same in terms of base variety and objectives makes it pretty boring. Didn't realize they were exact copy and pastes til I climbed the stairs on top but yea ;\

On mission 8 on legendary and already at 8 hours. I know mine might be sort of inflated because of the difficulty and getting the intel (although I admittedly using a guide so I don't have to look for them) but honestly? Considering I got what, 7 missions left (or 6 missions?), I think for me, the time it takes to complete solo legendary is nice.

11 arena games played so far, 10 losses. What the fuck is wrong with this matchmaking. Just once I'd like to be on a team that isn't getting steamrolled 4 vs 2.

Jen Taylor
She's superb in the game. I mean she does Halsey and then Cortana. I haven't gotten there yet, but that JumPeRJumPzZ skip video where she's like dammit Warden, she's such a talented voice actress. Whatever the end game is, death of Halsey and Cortana, I hope they can reuse Jen for other roles. I'm sure she's got the range and capacity to do so.

Yes, she is a fantastic voice actress, and while it's clearly the same voice between Halsey and Cortana (it's supposed to be), the way she voices each of them just gives out their very different personalities.

Cranked some Warzone with friends today. Damn is that mode a lot of fun. Great to just kick back and enjoy the chaos of it all. A great compliment to Arena, I'll definitely be playing more of this mode than I expected.

Still frustrated with how the armor unlocking works in this game, and I think the rank up/commendation packs need to give significantly better rewards than they do currently.

Beat the campaign tonight. Didn't rush through it at all and still finished in under 6 hours. Enjoyed it a lot though, despite its brevity.

Warzone and Arena are supposed to satisfy different sections of the fanbase, so it's funny to see people who say they love Arena but hate Warzone or that they love Warzone but hate Arena as that's how it's supposed to work. There is a mode for everyone. I love both for the record, but certain days I'm feeling Warzone or certain days I'm feeling Arena, so I'm really glad there are drastic difference in terms of the two main multiplayer modes.

I seriously can't catch a fucking break in team Slayer. Carrying teams and all I have to show for it is 4 losses in a row and getting dropped down from Gold 2 to 1.

Dude don't even try to play Team Arena solo if you're seriously trying to rank up. It's a lost cause.

The only thing I hate about Warzone is it's impossible to carry. You could be doing the best in your life, but it's not enough if the other team is even half decent at working as a team. Meanwhile, my team is trying to capture their armory.

The level-up packs turn into silvers when you get high enough (rank 40). And presumably gold at an even higher level.

I think commendations do as well, but I'm not certain.

The game could definitely use a couple 4v4 sized vehicle levels. Another remake of Zanzibar would be good.

Hopefully 4v4 Assault will be coming along with BTB as that game type really gels well with maps that have mongoose/ warthog spawns.

Curious to know what people's thoughts would be on making Assault more like Flag and letting the carrier shoot the pistol too. Mentioned it to a friend and he hated the idea but it seems like a natural fit with what 343 did with the flag in Breakout (which essentially acts like a neutral bomb).

A user on Reddit suggested for Halloween on Saturday, an Infection playlist drop would be an amazing way to kick off Halo 5's Weekend Playlists.

Yep, just because there is no BTB doesn't mean there should be no vehicle-centric objective games.

4v4 assault and 4v4 single flag CTF worked beautiful in Halo 2 with maps like Zanzibar, Headlong, Burial Mounds, and Turf. Honestly - those were some of my favorite games.

... which, also reminds me that H5 is severely lacking in map "atmosphere." Everything is just a sterile factory or warehouse... where are the organic structures and nature? Furthermore, why do so many maps in H5 feel like they're floating in the air, with lots of possibilities to "fall off" and suicide? Too many corridors, too... can't remember constantly "running into dead ends" or turning into walls back in the H2 days.

Don't get me wrong - I'm actually having a lot of fun; but the more I think about, the more incomplete and kind of "off" things feel.

Jesus, wtf is up with this map rotation. All i get is orion over, and over, and over, one after the other. The shittiest map in the game on top of that. At least repeat a good map. Getting sick of this.

Personally don't like any of the heavily scripted portions of the Campaign. A cinematic vignette to transition from a cutscene to gameplay is fine, but telling me to play a cutscene
like the last mission when Cortana keeps knocking Osiris down
or making the level
otherwise force me to move a certain way
ensures i'll probably never play that mission again. Halo 4's Longsword mission is an exception, but overall I think the spectacle of Reach's saber fight had more staying power to me. Sandbox gameplay > linear script on rails. The novelty of these kind of sections is lost on me when it comes to replaying them.

I don't like giving up control to the game. I never cared for the Warthog runs for a similar reason, and it's also why I don't play Call of Duty Campaigns more than once. The freedom that comes with unpredictable and spontaneous gameplay in a "playground" is what has made the Halo Campaigns worth revisiting for years.

I fucking loathe Breakout man, really ruins Team Arena for me. It's nothing like classic Halo, it shouldn't be in there.

Agreed. It doesn't even kind of feel like Halo.
