Thanks for that! That is a killer strat. I wound up doing it the hard way and downed them all. And, of course, only to find out that there was one more mission. Haha!

I need time to process the story. As it stands, amazing gameplay. Oh, and the game should have been called Halo: Locke. Why did 343 think that was a good idea to have the player be Locke so much? It's Halo 2 all over again!

Except Halo 2 had almost equal time for Arbiter and Chief and you started the game off as Chief. The story interwove well. This is pretty much, here is Osiris Team, you don't know a single thing about them, we'll only give you a few lines of squad banter every few missions to find out a few details, #HunttheTruth, this is Chief's story. It's basically saying, eventually we want to leave Chief behind, here play as our new guys and get used to them because we're going to make them prominent in everything from now on.

It isn't particularly well directed but I think it is mostly due to budget constraints. Though I can imagine it still cost a lot to produce. I would have loved to have worked on that project. I'm pretty impressed with what they did but that story deserves a bigger and better treatment.

C'mon for a simple animated three part show, it works well enough. You're not going to get something ridiculously expensive and well made. I mean it's supplementary to the games, just exploring Chief and Blue Team, their origins, and giving more familiarity to the universe. Between the book, the game, and now this, you pretty much have the major gist of the Spartan-II program, and how Reach fell. I will say fall of reach did get a little cheesy at times, but I think it's also aimed for a younger crowd too. The 8-13ish crowd who would probably want to know more before they play the game.
 
I still think matchmaking is pretty much broken. I don't understand why in Slayer free for all I get paired against diamond and platinum ninjas. I hadn't even completed one go around the icon and I'm getting destroyed every match. This can't be that hard of a problem to solve.
 
There is some server slowness as well, try and uninstall REQ packs that aren't working, turn off your Xbox, and reinstall that same pack from the store and see if it's there to open up. Or are you guys saying you got it, but it disappeared from the collection?

we were able to download the pre-order req pack but it does not show in the game.
it is a widespread problem it seems.
 
Are you fucking kidding me Microsoft? I just finished Mission 13 and in the middle of the cut-scene it boots me out of the game to fucking update the console? What the hell is that bullshit?!?

I had the same issue for the advanced promotional REQ pack.

Here's what I did.

Went to my games and apps, manage game, highlight the pack not showing, uninstalled, and then saw it move to the side to be installed again later. I turned off my Xbox, turned it back on, went to the same place, went to my games, manage game, went to the pack I uninstalled, and clicked view details or view in store and installed again and then clicked launch. Went into requisitions and it was there. Maybe it was server slowness or maybe it just happened that time. Try it and see if it works for you.

They really should not boot you out of a game to update, that is some ridiculous shit. On launch night it nearly kicked me out of a MP match to update (the match was nearly finished loading).

Edit: I seriously hope I can see that cut-scene again, because I don't know if it was finished or not.

dude, it is nice that you want to help, but all of that has been tried by a lot of people, me included and nooooothing..that's why there is a threat on halowaypoint with over 150 postings of missing stuff from the pre-order :)

Edit: just for fun I tried what helped you again. nothing.

Hmm I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it without anything happening. Perhaps I should try to turn my console off before I reinstall it.

However this still don't solve the issue of the armor not being granted.

Edit: I found a support forum for H5 so I made a new topic there with a poll.

Of course. Just wanted to share what anecdotally worked for me. I had even contacted my local retailer, Xbox Support who said there were no issues with the installation itself, he did say that it was something that might be fixed in a patch soon (but that could have been just saying that to try and placate me). I did exactly what I wrote above, in those exact steps, and magically my REQ pack showed up.

Appreciated, I will try this later once I have access to my Xbox, however I doubt it's gonna unlock. Who knows, it might work... This time...

I just want my special space armor aka 7th Armor as I call it :|

Fair enough, they didn't really bother me, than again, they weren't spectacular either.

Got my pre-order REQ's, no armor though.

Don't fight on/for the objective itself. Especially in warzone assault. Find a nice position and try to stop their reinforcements. For example, on ARC (at least i think it's ARC) you have to attack the garage. When you spawn, move to the right, there is a REQ-station and a tunnel straight ahead where the enemy reinforcements are coming from. Just stand there and shoot every defender trying to run towards the garage (REQ-station means you can refill ammo easily). It will stop their flow of reinforcements and your team will be able to capture the base.
 
I am still wondering where the "better than Halo 3's scarab fights" went. Playing through it again and pretty much every vehicle section is on a linear path.

Also, every time I get something good in Warzone, I get a bullshit spawn. Use ultra rare mantis, die in 3 sec, rage.

Yup. Whenever I call in a high tier weapon, it seems like i'll die almost immediately before i even get to use it (called in a Sniper on Stormbreak and spawned outside of the base in direct line of fire of another snpier SMH). Or i'll spawn in a Tank and some asshole is waiting outside of our base with a plasma pistol to board it.

Their larger encounters still feel very stiff and unoriginal.

They have upped their game on mid range encounters though. The balance is just right.

I get that, especially in hindsight. But in the grand scheme of things the scene just feels very inconsequential. We get Roland getting pissed, cut to a scene with Osiris, and next time we see Roland everything's all peachy. When you want to freak people out, it doesn't hurt to go back to that moment later and address it.

I loved the story and the presentation, but that scene as a whole just fell terribly flat for me. Especially as someone with a knowledge of video editing techniques, that slow fade to black was just painful to watch. :p

it just feels like there should've been something else to that scene, even if it was just Halsey getting on eye level with Roland and telling him exactly what was the problem here.

It's quite possibly my only real issue with the game's storytelling. So much gets addressed during in-game dialog, but then this scene (
with eventual crucial implications
) just gets thrown to the wayside later on. So take this as some - hopefully - constructive criticism.
 
Up to Mission 10.easily the best campaign in the series so far. I can't get over how gorgeous mission 8 looked.

I'm not sure why people complained about the campaign, it's really drawing me in.
 
I wasn't freaked out by the outburst - he had a pretty good point, and he'd been getting ignored repeatedly by everyone in the room. Seemed like quite a normal reaction to me.

I wouldn't mind strongholds 4 straight games considering I just got breakout 5/8 games which sent me over the edge - done with that playlist for now. Keep that crap contained to it's own space and give us Oddball and/or moar CTF. Objective playlist would be cool, good and active as well.

By the way, people who like toying around with the Theater mode, you can activate your coordinates in games by doing the same button combination as in Halo 4.

Reload + jump + B + Dpad Up.

Haven't figured out how to switch it into pan-cam yet. Wanna see if I can't break out of Fathom and get a closer look at that monster.
 
I really feel REQ packa need to give more/better cards or be cheaper to buy with points. I still have a ton of weapons and vehicles I have never had access to after getting to level 15 and buying 3 gold packs with real money. It really sours the otherwise great mode that is Warzone.

That's how I beat him on heroic. It felt like blood borne a little. You had to stay close so he didn't shoot you, and thrust right at the last second to avoid his sword. It takes about a minute to kill him this way.

Sell what you don't want. It speeds things up. Mongoose, ghost, needler. After I buy a Gold pack, I usually get 1000 points back from selling things off. Those little packs you get through the course of leveling up/boosts can be sold too for an additional 1000


Does anyone else notice that after a game you click requisitions (when you have them) in the carnage report and it takes you to the store, when you rb over it says you have nothing.... It's only after you close, return to your carnage report that the you can click requisition again and get to those packs? Kinda weird.
 
I'm now ranked in every Arena playlist. Feels good to see these little icons in the arena menu. Now, I'll be able to focus on the weekend playlist, for these sweet RP points.
 
Just finished the campaign, solo Legendary. I liked it a lot
but jeeeeez I cant believe how many times I had to fight Warden Eternal. Seriously, mission 14 tripple Warden battle was ridiculous.
