Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

More random AI spawns in warzone would be nice, a few elite elites appearing to ruin the party would be nice to see, even if they are only worth 1 point. In a way titanfall has spoiled what I expect from AI in a multiplayer game as i'm used to seeing tons of AI marines running about among the action.

This worries me, I was hoping warzone would be both AI and player heavy.

Do you get any kind of special armor for multiplayer if you beat the game on legendary?

No, not even for beating it solo legendary which is kinda bullshit. At least you got helioskrill for beating MCC on legendary though.

That said, the achievement picture/background picture for "lone wolf" is bad ass.

The AI serve mostly as early objectives so you can't clear bases uncontested, and from then thereafter secondary objectives you can secure to swing a game back in your favor, or Marine AI who can fuck up the unprepared guy who saunters into your base, basically. It's not heavy on AI because the focus is still on contesting bases with real people.

AI in the campaign is frustrating as hell.
You get downed they all run into a meat grinder or just stand next to you watching as you die.

And if you do stay alive they run in front of me when I'm shooting so I end up hitting them in the back.

Oh and when I went on my warthog to snipe enemies, AI decided it would be a glorious
idea to drive into the enemy and get us blown up in an instant, cause why not.

I see why they tag alongside you, but more often than not on higher settings they're just in the way.

Makes it all the more funny when they highlighted the AI in the sprint episodes, "the musketeers" etc.

I am still surprised there isn't more of a backlash against the frame issues. I mean, the game doesn't look THAT good, and I was perfectly fine with most of the graphical cuts for 60fps. But when that 60fps turns to 15fps after five meters, that's just too insane on top of everything else. Why does it kick in on a single grunt, 5 meters away from me in an otherwise empty room? It's just awkward.

So what's the best strategy when you see a Spartan running at you in close quarters trying to land a shoulder charge?

If you are able to see it coming, couple shots to the body and a melee right as they connect.
The melee magnetism will throw you towards them and will kill [if you landed enough shots] before they have a chance to raise their weapon. Not an ideal scenario, but it'll win you the trade.

Ok because this keeps happening to me on Breakout and that thing has great range.

I'll even thrust back or jump sometimes. Thrusting back... if they start the charge far enough away mind you... will allow you to fire as you do so riddling them with bullets. They usually die right after the charge... esp if you're rocking an smg.

Or, jump, turn 180 and assassinate their linebacker asses ;P

A) It's 30fps, not 60, and I can't think of a time when I've ever noticed it. So clearly they were comfortable with making the decision since not everyone was going to be bothered by it and it brought performance benefits.

Don't see why this is surprising. The game just came out so anyne who would be watching would be playing. Beyond that, Halo has been down in the dumps for a while and many of the top streamers are just good players, not good personalities. Combine that with the fact that (IMO) Halo 5 really isn't interesting to watch right now with its limited gametypes and map pool.

Thanks for the tips! I'll use these to counter it next time.

No way. 50 was a joke in Halo 3. Guaranteed a lot of Platinum players got 50.

I'd say, in Halo 2 terms, that Platinum is 31-33, Diamond is 34-36, Onyx is 37-39, and Champion is 40-42.

No one got higher than 42 in Halo 2 due to skill (you just forced host and slaughtered bad modders or counter standby-ed to victory.

it is true, but I think getting Diamond and Onyx are just as easy as getting something like a 48.

I reckon the boss's should have a separate energy bar for each team.

Each team can only see their energy bar and whoever gets theirs down first gets the kill.

The frame issues are most definitely not 30fps, the jitter is really awkward. It's not even smooth (30fps can still be smooth) it just cuts frames. In campaign it becomes painfully obvious on shield, hit animations etc.

And ignorance is bliss I guess, I am not a graphic enthusiast by any means but I noticed it straight away. As I said, couldn't give a fuck about the other cuts but this one thing just bothers me too much.

My day is shit :/ I just can't find time to play..tomorrow is my birthday so I hope to find some peace to play before dinner with my father and his wife >.<

Just got the game because the beta was the best FPS imo.

Breakout mode is less fun than the "beta breakout". What is the flag thing ? It disturbs the intensity of the original concept. Plus player have more health, or so I think, wich sucks too.

The flag's there so people can't hide and to allow (very sneaky) players comeback opportunities.

Some has anyone found a quick way to strip the armor from a promethian soldier? Not the Knights, hue regular soldiers.

Suppressor.

Console games (except for Destiny) have always done badly on Twitch. They'll be high up for a week or two then they'll drop once all the big streamers go back to their regular games. The Halo section only has one popular streamer and Ninja really doesn't get many viewers while the other games have some of the most popular streamers on twitch.

Wow, I played through the entire game on Legendary solo (18 hours of gameplay time) and I didn't know this existed. Every Spartan was rocking their default weapons the whole time.

It basically makes them either target enemies, go to a spot, board a vehicle or swap out a weapon. The enemy target is useful to draw enemies away from you while you flank.

Halo is a console exclusive, so is expected to have less player either way. But, when I checked on Wednesday night, the game was number one played in XBOX one.

I think the flag was the best addition to retail-breakout. Keeps those "hiders" from simply running away from the other team the entire match. It's also a nice change of pace to sometimes rush right for the flag... pass it off or drop it completely and pull the enemy team out of their "spots" into the open. It brings some interesting tactics to the mode. Really enjoy it.

Now... powerups (invis i'm talking to you!) and power weapons have no place in Breakout IHMO. Theres a fucking Hydra in the one map!?!? I got smoked by it b/c i jumped out and thought id pop the guy with my pistol... BOOM. My entire team went "WTF just happened... theres a Hydra in Breakout!?"

That shit needs to go back to normal Arena. Stat!

There are few feelings as good as managing to score the flag when you're down 3-1. It makes for some really epic Halo.

I still havent done a solo capture... been keeping out of Breakout for the most part until i can find/put together a solid team of guys who actually want to play for more than 3 matches in a row lol.

Agreed! It evokes Doom's cover, to me, but is also so high up on the scale of its own badassery. It got turned into my dashboard wallpaper immediately.

Yeah, I knew about the UP command on every possible item except weapons. I don't know why I never put two-and-two together, as in hindsight it makes so much sense. There were even times I remember wishing my squad had more powerful weapons. Haha!

Dont forget Trials just started for Destiny. So that number is at the moment abit high. Same with last week Hard mode release. When i went over 100.000. Most of the time its sits arround 9.000 depends if Gothalion is online. :P

So..., what was that "holy shit, this is the best Halo [campaign]" moment that those IGN people were talking about?
