Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I am really loving this game. The campaign, arena and warzone, but I have a complain about Warzone.
I don't like the single use cards. The last match I played we were losing horrible, the other had a Wraith killing us, so I use a Fuel Rod Cannon but when I was going to the place where the wraith I was kill with a sniper before arriving. I know that weapon is easy to get but I imagine to lose a legendary weapon in something like that.
I would prefer that cards will last at least all the match, paying the req point every time of course

How broken is the ranking system?

I struggled my way through the first 10 arena games hoping I would end up in Iron or something and play against like minded broken thumbs....

Yeah.. Rankings seem weird, haha.
I got put in Platinum 1 also. With a 3.6 KDA & 1.3 actual KDR, 50% win ratio. Not exactly great.. But.. Better than that, no offense intended!

Strange but on the Xbox store the Digital a Deluxe Edition still shows the price and not purchased even though that's what I bought and on my installed list, Halo Reach animated series says pre-order and not available yet but I can watch in on the halo waypoint app.
I really do think the Xbox One OS is a bit of a cluster fuck.

I really like the no-shooting missions. I love exploring and talking to all of the NPCs and also hearing Osiris banter that plays over time. Makes the wish for a Halo RPG only grow stronger.

The way these REQ packs are going, ultra rares will be kept as mementos rather than being used. Shame they removed Prophet's Bane on Truth, cause you're not going to see it in Warzone.

Cross mapping is still a funny thing though, either they left default's advantage from the beta or I am constantly versing people that have the longshot BR.

Man, listening to some reviewers talk about this game makes me think they didn't try to explore at all. Probably because it seems like most of them played on normal.

If I tell a teammate to pick up a rocket launcher, will they have infinite ammo? I'm at a party right now and can't check myself. Just curious as I'm bored to tears here.

The game is good fun, but I don't think setting 1080p as maximum resolution was a good decision. Especially for the campaign. It hardly ever reaches it, so it just means textures suffer from a limited bandwidth budget set to match a target that's rarely hit.

I would have preferred something a little higher than what H2A runs at (basically 900p) with better texture resolution and filtering.

There's clearly more polygons than Halo 4, and better lighting and shading. But a lot of textures look decidedly last-gen.

Hopped into arena alone, came out the victor.
Aww yis. Feels like a faster version of halo 3. Very happy with the way it plays.

I'm quite bad and I ended up ranking Gold in arena, I'll take it I guess. First time I play arena in any Halo, I gotta say it's quite addictive. Now if only I could git gud.

Got an unscoped sniper kill in colleseum, it was cool.

The ranking placement system needs some fixing up, or needs a layer of transparency so the player understands why they ended up so far from their expectations.

My friend played like garbage during his placement, ended up in Platinum. I played extremely well during my placement, and I ended up in Platinum. Does not compute.

It never drops frames though, at least not visible to the eye which is fantastic. I'm almost done with the campaign and I was so wrong about the visuals. They're freaking gorgeous, especially the second half of the game. The only thing that's really distracting is the super low res shadows for some of the trees.

Loving the campaign, btw.

A friend and I ran through the entire story today, start to finish, on heroic and finished in right at 8 hours (started 7:45am and finished at 3:44pm). Neither of us are Halo gods and I was even hesitant in doing heroic because I'm not that good, but alas, we made it through.

Overall, I didn't actually start to get bored/frustrated until the last couple of missions, which is when the encounters became increasingly repetitive. The pacing and story was pretty good for me to keep me engaged. I'm not sure I've ever sat and played through a game anywhere near that long before.

As for the story itself, I didn't think it was necessarily bad but I completely understand all the criticisms of it. Overall, it was MUCH easier to follow than in previous Halo games, something I've always had a problem with. This was even with playing co-op, where we were often making fun and laughing at just about everything, especially the "black balls" that a certain enemy kept throwing at us. :)

Qualified solo in SWAT and got Diamond :D

I don't think it will last, as I'm generally terrible at Halo MP.

Apparently you can never go down a tier? But can someone explain how this works if you're really bad? Do you just keep getting matched with people who are way better than you?

Yes. Ifyou are for exemple Diamond 2 you can rank down to Diamond 1 but you CANNOT go to the tier under diamond. Ladder reset monthly'ish I think that's what they said.

What's the hierarchy in terms of high-to-low when it comes to REQ items?

I get stuff that's "Rare", "Uncommon", "Super Rare", and even "Legendary" but have no idea what the chain is.

Anyone interested in a Legendary co op attempt? I beat it already on normal just for the story and I've never beat a Halo on Legendary. And if you're into the collectables or want to chase trophies that's cool too, but I'm just in it for bragging rights. I'm down to run with a squad in slayer too.

I just played 6 matches without leaving matchmaking. Two of them on Pegasus, four on Orion. 343i, your map rotation is fucked.

Since I'm playing myself I'm playing SWAT because it's usually a game I can carry and I'm mostly doing that, but I keep getting matched with people in Onyx, while the majority of my team is still qualifying like myself. Is nobody playing SWAT or is it putting me against people in Onyx because I'm decent? I'm having a difficult time understanding this ranking system.

Yeah I gave up even paying attention to rank. Aside for the onyx and champion ranks seems to mean nothing at all. I've seen the most pathetic diamonds and the meanest golds and silvers. It's really a broken system. Just go back to the Halo 2 system 343.

Yeah, the ranking system is fucking weird. My friend and I both just got through our first 10 matches in Slayer to get ranked. We only played about half of them together. Here are our stats and ranks compared to each other:

I am the one who got ranked in Platinum, which I have absolutely NO business being in.

I'm wondering this too. I'm seeing a TON of diamond/onyx players in my qualifying SWAT matches.
