Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

There is no way these arena matches are on uk servers, i'm being 5 shot by the damn carbine and 4 shot by the pistol because of the latency, what doesn't help either is one dude on my team ran around killing us before the game booted him, I got sniped in the back by a team mate....

fuck this arena bullshit, needs looking at and sorting out.

Supposedly your CSR is in the background once you qualify and that is what matches you with others not so much your visual rank.
 
I'm so tired of people quitting as soon as we're losing by like 5 kills forcing me to play 1v4 games. It's getting ridiculous at this point when halo is one of those games where you can turn the game around so easily.
 
Bloody hell, played a game of slayer in some shitty map where most of the team quit and the opponents basically just camped all the high ground so you pretty much died either immediately after, or not long after you spawned. Some of these maps are just too small and poorly designed, allowing for awkward spawns and kills. Sort of has the same issue in terms of level design that Advanced Warfare did.
 
Finished the campaign. Best Halo campaign but my God fuck the warden. I feel like 343 just ran out of ideas at the end.

Aside from that sour note, I loved it. Great ending and I cant wait for the next one. Full thoughts later but I have a big smile on my face.

That's my guess as well since I feel there is like a half second delay to everything I do. It's playable but it ain't perfect, probably explains why I'm in the minus when it comes to my KDA across all modes. Not that I care about my score as long as I'm playing and having fun which I am but sometimes there is these BS moments where you have to shoot twice as much than everyone else to get guaranteed kills.

That's what I feel after playing for the past few days.
 
Made diamond in SWAT. I'm guessing a lot leverages off of the people you're matched against since I basically fought nothing but other diamond people.
 
The Suppressor went from a shitty SMG clone to an amazing sounding, feeling and looking weapon in this game. Love that thing, especially the weird animations it has going on
 
Does any one else in the UK or EUW feel that there aren't many dedis over here? I'm always been matched up with Americans and the ping is terrible.

And this, my friends, is why this ranking system sucks.

If you want to check in the pregame, you have to go into the roster and go through the players in the recent tab individually. Recent tab shows players in your game to my knowledge.

Those 3 steps are eliminated in the post game and their names are right there. Don't remember if their ranks are visible beside them.
 
So I'm an Onyx Swat player....ummm... I suck at Swat. This is becoming a theme for me.... I'm Diamond in Team Salyer and Onyx in Swat. I am always on the bottom 2.... Not understanding the ranking system.

Ha, I had that same issue tonight. Took me forever to realize I had to just shoot them down. It's pretty stupid considering every other time you needed to figure out how to get behind it. It wasn't until I gave up and got frustrated that it clicked.
 
The fuck... Finally this thing finishes installing and now it has a 9GB update? I bought this game hours ago and I'm not even gonna be able to play tonight !!

So I downloaded the game and it won't let me play multiplayer.

I get the message "could not find a server that was suitable for all members of your fireteam" for every playlist.

What is this shit?


Edit: when I try a custom game I get " attention - error retrieving data centre connection quality information. Please try again later."

What's going on? Are the servers down or is it something on my end?
 
So I loved the Halo 5 campaign. It was definitely my favorite Halo campaign so far and I love where the story is heading. Halo 6 should be ridiculous.

However, there are some stupid things that really hold it back from being truly great. The Warden is the biggest negative point. If we fought him once then I would be okay but fighting him 6-7 times is just ridiculous. The Prometheans in general were not fun to fight.

I also thought they could have done more to explain the lore better in the games. Thats one thing that pisses me off about Halo games is that a lot of important backstory is left to comics and other stuff. I know a little bit of the lore so I was able to hang in there for the most part but I still need to spend a lot of time in the Lore and Spoiler threads to really understand what I just finished playing. For those that dont know anything besides whats presented in the games, I can understand their frustration and why they would not have a fun time with the campaign at all.

Osiris was a cool team but I really dont care about any of them. I thought it was nice of Locke to
acknowledge the Chief as Sir. Its like hes the next generation but he knows whos top dog. I actually didnt care about anyone besides the Chief unfortunately. Even the rest of Blue Team was meh. Buck was cool but I thought Vale was the best Osiris member. I liked that she had an interest in history and she was genuinely fascinated about the things they uncovered in Sanghelios. The ending with Halsey looking at Chief while Locke is standing next to him definitely gave me chills. It was great.

Exuberant Witness was cute as well. So adorable how much she enjoyed warfare lol

Took me about 14 hours on Heroic. I played chapter 14 on Easy after
running into the Warden for the SECOND time in one level.
The rest was on Heroic. The length was satisfying though I wasnt a fan of how some levels were ridiculously short.

When "The Trials" came on during
mission 14
...fuuuuuuuuuu I was so hyped.

Time to view old terminals and listen / read all the intel from YouTube/Wiki. Great work 343!

Just beat it on Heroic difficulty.

Best Halo campaign, even better than Halo 3. Couldn't believe how much shit was going on at times lol. Had fun the whole way through. Props to 343i. Sorry I was skeptical.

Still need to tackle Legendary, but another time...
 
I can't play Arena. Can't make micro-adjustments to my aim, something feels off.
Aiming in beta was so comfortable, why did they change it :/
Hope they fix it soon.
 
I wish they would let us play the vehicle modes in multiplayer. Warzone is close, but the req system is kind of annoying and it usually just turns into one team camping a spot
 
So nice to play in big Halo parties with friends again, thank you 343 for bringing back long time local XBL friends and Xbox One for having 12 in party chat now. Fired up another 4 player coop legendary mission (up to 6 now), shot through one or two customs while forming the larger party and then went on a winning streak in 11 man party with Warzone. Fucking great times on awesome dedis with very solid in game experiences. Bip Bap Bam.

I recommend playing SWAT to get you aim down. Might get reqt the first few games, but my buddy did that and it helped improve his shot big time.
 
I say with zero hesitation. Halo 5 is the greatest first person shooter I've ever played. The story was flat out amazing. So very well done. This changes the Halo universe forever. And as much as shit hit the fan in this game, 343i still showcased a tremendous amount of restraint in the overall handling of the story. Where in god's name will they go with this!?

I don't know how anyone can say with a straight face that a single Halo title is superior to this one after what I just played.
 
I swear stronghold is unwinnable, always getting stomped on that mode... Well obviously it's winnable because the enemy team does but I don't think I ever won a single game in that mode.
 
For the first time in a really long time, I feel like the wait will be unbearable until the next Halo game. At least Halo Wars 2 is coming!
