Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

If anyone wants to play arena sometime add me! gamertag is zhaitz!

I'm so sick of the quitters I'll stoop so low to play with you gaffers :)

I've been trying to get plat in slayer but so many quitters. Currently Gold 6, at least the rank icon for that is cool though.

Maps are generic as fuck. Come on, H4 launch maps were better.

no. Halo 4 had, arguably the worst maps of any halo. 5s seem incredibly solid despite not being all that visually attractive. Really, the only stinkervis Orion. Opinions and all, but halo 5s maps are loads better then 4s.

Had a fun Warzone match. Were losing by like 300 points early on but then we ended up winning 1000 - 998.

I thought if your team killed the Warden you win immediately?

warden is worth 150 points, and he usually spawns near the end of the game which is why palmer says they will win the game if the enemy kills it.

^ It's a fuckin run n gun AR dash ground pound fest now.

Sorry but we seem to be playing different games so I won't reply to you again. Apologize for any inconvenience caused, if any.

The movement spotted can benefit from raising a little in warzone, but I think it's perfect in arena.

Not necessarily. Like the other Legendary bosses, I believe he is worth 150 points for the team score. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

He's worth 150 points, so not an instant win but pretty good boost. Only way to insta-win is to destroy the opponent's core.

You're right. If your team is at 850 points or higher, someone (team director?) will say over the comms that defeating the warden will win the game. I think that's what's confusing people.

Guys what's the difference between warzone and warzone assault?

I only played one match of the latter, but I think it only requires two bases before unlocking the core and no AI bosses or a set point for winning. Gotta blow up the core.

What game are you playing?, because seldom do I get shot by an AR. maybe your rank?

Diamond in FFA and SWAT. Platinum Team Slayer.

Population is not a good indicator, this is not the 2007 when Halo didnt had any rival in MP, now they have to compete with CoD, Batlefront and Destiny, this game is already been played more than GTA and Destiny, but using as evidence that this game is bad because more people are playing CoD is illogical.

Haha, of course more people will be playing COD. No, I'm predicting the online population to be ABYSMAL, is what I said. If it were so good, it'd have a healthy online pop. You know, maybe not 1-3 numbers, but like Halo Reach not-mainstream-but-keep-fans-around numbers.

But the armor abilities didn't have an impact in the game as it did in other Halo, if you think sprint have a real impact in the game, like it did with Halo Reach, then you didnt play Halo Reach that much or Halo 5, Halo 4 had a Sonar that showed you where the player was hiding, it had no descoping, and a 5 shot BR.

What? Is this supposed to make any sense?

Alright time for some vent

You have game with great collectables and customization and pretty solid ranking system. But dat lobby. mother fucking lobby. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea. I can't show my Spartan, see others Spartan, see their ranks. jesus fuck.

They must be working to make it better right? all you get is that emblem stickers. Not even fucking gamertag. Man makes me even more angry.

And on the side note, you can't always quit after the match ended, sometimes it puts me in the deployment screen and I have to sit through the entire match again.

How does the boss scoring actually work in Warzone? Is it entirely dependent on who gets the final shot in, or do you still get some points if you drain a significant amount of the HP?

I mean I can get his idea. I know it isn't exactly the best way to show it (i agree) but

n halo 3 I had about 60 people that I had added just for playing Halo 3, when that went to reach that got cut in half and when that went to halo 4 and now 5 it may be around 5 or 6 of those guys that use to play halo every day and now they just don't play any shooters or they play something on pc or a few of them still try to stick to MCC or halo 3 on 360 when they do want to play which isn't very much

These guys would come back if halo came back, i do think a halo that is more like halo would have that long lasting appeal like 2 and 3 if they would just try it.

POINT blank- it has been a long time since halo was halo wthout some random idea thrown it. I am just saying, TRY to make a halo like halo and see how it goes. Won't hurt.

I promise you, people would be freaking out and rejoicing.

Out of those 60 people, do they all have an Xbox one? all of my Friends from Halo 3 Halo days 24 are playing Halo 5 and like 6 more of them are planing to get an Xbox One because of it., I just think people should not use anecdotal evidence to conclude if the game is not good or not.

No, just shooting their core does. He does however give a bunch of points.

Ah gotcha, thanks guys! After we got the Warden I was just hanging out for like 2 minutes wondering why the game wasnt done yet haha.

I swear perma weapon unlocks for warzone are scripted, everyone seems to be unlocking the scoped AR first or at the beginning, the game is probably set to require months of gold packs to get the better perma gear :(

I get the variable zoom BR with bayonet from the first gold pack I opened lol.

There is like 4 or 5 "city" random ramp, walled maps that ddon't even make one good map. Then there are these overly wide huge walled maps for the rest.

I can't see where they are fun or have any feeling of distance or depth in their set ups for spawn killing or cover.

Guardian, pit, narrows, construct, midship, beaver creek, coag, avalanche

you take almost any good or decent map from any halo and it just blows these h5 maps completely away.

Even the bad maps people didn't vote for in halo 3 that much like snowbound had a simple round battlefield area and 1 layer areas with simple bases that provided great gameplay along with the top tier gameplay the game was designed with.

This halo 5 stuff just isn't like this at alll, not even close. They over complex somethings and make it random and unskillful imo

Their remakes of these maps were also much worse when they brought in the H3 maps to H4. I just feel they don't know what they are doing.

Competitive arena shooters are all about the depth in their lines, and sight lines.

I can't shoot you across map on most of these maps in any of the "lines of view" an its just terrible, and I mean this in a sincere mature way, garbage map design for halo. I just don't like it at all.

These are not halo maps. These are cod style maps, run around until you meet up with a guy in random corner or walkway number 4 of 50.

From my experience which ever team gets the last shot gets all point. So its all or nothing. Now, speaking of individual, I think more than 1 Spartan gets the boss takedown medal. I don't know how that is decided.

The reason you can't see gamertags and ranks in the lobbies is to prevent people from dodging. I would like to show my Spartan armor off before games. Oh and seeing your medals in the post-game stats would nice. How do they forget that?

Yep, this too. It's apparent that it's how they want it to be. For god knows what reason. There is no fucking lobby. Let's say the game played perfect (which imo, that couldn't be further from the truth). It's still a frustrating, dated online experience which discourages social interaction. Can't even tell who's talking half the time, no information whatsoever pre-game, no map voting and you end up playing the same fucking map several times in a row sometimes, non-persistent lobbies, and so on. yes, best experience since halo 2 for sure.

Ok, it make sense now. I havent played FFA or Swat, dont like that.

What is with your mocking to other poster? this "haha" just seems uncalled for to have a serious debate.

Anyway, if the population bleed enough in Halo 4 proportion, then yes, it will mean that this formula didnt click with the fans, but, is it going to be possible to do so? there is no player counter right now, how can you tell the population?

What? Is this supposed to make any sense?

If it didnt make sense to you then I dont know what else to say, to simplify "Armor abilities in Halo 5 have a passive effect on the game" including sprint, I play games here and there with high skilled players, and the first advise they give "Dont sprint" that how much sprint impact have been reduced from previous Halo, is is not needed, and you will only see it used by the same people that will spray you with AR and try to dash you or ground pound you.

These are Halo maps. They require map and power weapon control.

I'm sorry, but you just don't know what you're talking about. Comparing Snowbound to Fathom? Empire? Truth? Snowbound was garbage! Is garbage!

If you're going to be so catastrophically wrong, you might want to at least qualify it as an opinion.

Needed to quote this because it was pure facts

Having a lot less fun with Warzone today after I open pack after pack of Needler and Mongoose. I haven't spawned a good vehicle in 4-5 hours of play.
Edit: I'm an idiot. You can buy Req packs with points. Too funny.

I think you are confusing the stabilizers that activate when aiming midair and the ground pound which removes any ability to shoot while it's charging both have you in the air with the thrusting going.. Or maybe I'm confused.

Learn something new everyday. I thought they both were the same thing. so RB is pound, which button is the stabilizer?

Either sprint or zoom, but the latter only if you've got autostabilizers on. Still trying to decide if I want that or not, hover can be crazy useful but also kinda disruptive, and on bumper jumper it's all or nothing.

Warzone needs a higher player count.

THIS.
The maps are IMO waaaay too big. Sometimes im running around for 5 minutes to find an enemy. I dont get who thought "lets design big ass maps and have such a low player count". 24 players is nothing. This maps at least need 40 if not 60 players.

Radius needs to be reduced.

H5 grenades are like H1 levels of nuclear grenades.

See, the thing is, smaller grenade radius + thruster = useless grenades. The problem, imo, is spam, not lethality. Better to adjust the quantity than the quality.

Warzone needs a higher player count.

I think I'd prefer more AI on the field. The problem is the big empty stretches, the firefights are already ridiculously intense. Spawn some mobs in those hallways.

3 Breakout games in a row now I've been team killed by 3 different teammates for taking the DMR even though I'd had 7 kills with it and they were at 0... glad to see 11 year olds still play Halo.

Ok, it make sense now. I havent played FFA or Swat, dont like that.

I've always enjoyed FFA, and anyone who claims that it isn't a chaotic mess now due to unlimited sprint, a fuckton of armor abilities (yes, they're armor abilities), and crappy maps, is in denial.

That's one of my points. They've removed the pop counters. It's almost as if they don't even have faith in themselves anymore and want to save themselves the embarrassment of a disgustingly population count. And if i can't see the count, especially during say, late night hours, then i won't even bother with the game. Am I not allowed to choose the playlist which i think i'll have the best chance of finding a good lag-free match?
