Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

You would be able to see your teammates and their ranks and it would look way better than the current shit we have now.

I mean the beta lobby was pretty fucking barebones but it got the job done.

uh, I like that. can we have that please included in the lobby screen? pretty please 343 guys?

This game really needs a way to manually reset your rank. Its amnoying me now. There's no fun in losing all the time, and in a game with such a limited playlist it pretty much means i have to avoid arena now. Which is just dumb.

Have them target closest enemies, if there's too many put them in a safe spot so they can revive you. Most important thing to do for solo legendary is patience, and save heavy weapons for bosses/hunters/wardens. And make sure p you look for those weapons. If there's a boss, there's powerful weapons close.

Also tell them to pick up the power weapons. This helped me a lot in my Legendary playthrough (I actually found my Legendary playthrough easier than heroic because of this...or maybe just more used to game)

I'm surprised you guys aren't running into a lot of people talking. So far I am. Played SWAT yesterday and midway through the match that was tied pretty even. I was like... Uh anyone got a mic? Call out please. Suddenly the whole team was on their mic. Was pretty neat. Guessing a lot of people just keep it muted.

Who knows. I've been getting destroyed in both Warzone and Slayer. I've been playing it super safe now. If I cant get any kills, I might as well try and not get killed myself. But often I just get shot from behind or from far away almost instantly and its just the most frustrating thing.

The gameplay is still a lot of fun so I still want to keep playing. Just gotta keep at it I guess.

Yeah I think I'll stick with team mates more often going forward. Usually I start off that way and then eventually get separated. I gotta make more of an effort to stick with them. Just feels like I'm always a step or two behind my enemies.

I have some tips, I got these tips way back in Halo 3, and are still useful:

-Dont ever challenge, is hard to do, but, if you see yourself engage in 1 v 1 situation dont let the fight last more than 3 or 4 seconds, if you havent kill this person by that moment, try to change position, and see if another person in your team clean that kill.

-Never see yourself in bottom midle in any map, you are vulnerable from any point in that part of the map, avoid it at any cost.

-When you are going to shoot, always do it from a position where you know you can take cover quickly and have a good route to escape (in this case if you are hit, is ok to drop to bottom mid in a map like Truth)

-work on your straffing and general awareness (like paying attention to your teammates sign and X if they get killed), this will come with experience

-Avoid Sprint as much as you can, there is a small window from when you stop sprinting and can start shooting, not sprinting doesnt put you in disadvantage.

-Try not to pay attention to your Kills and Death, the more you keep checking that, the more pressure you will feel to do better, and you will see yourself rushing.

-Dont chase kills, this is hard one not to do, and more i there is no communication, but you could see yourself like Indiana jones, you have someone you are chasing, and when running to catch him you run into the entire enemy team.

-Shoot any enemy that is in your LOS, even if you are not getting that kill, is better to have that person going to hidding for some seconds than to have him shooting around.

-Try to get party up with people that are willing to communicate, call outs are very important in Halo.

Man, there's some really terrible people in FFA. Worse than me, even.

Like a LOT worse. Didn't know that was possible. I saw this dude coming up the stairs to Cinema on Plaza, and he just... kept sprinting. Backed up starting putting shots into this guy, he just kept coming and topped it off without a charge and die.

It was really sad.

mh would manual reset not destroy the whole season system? I mean the whole thing is based on you being ranked for a season..
on the other hand of course they could allow a player to drop into lower ranks.

I believe that this must be a hard decision for 343. If they allow drops people who drop fast because of bad team mates will get angry, if they don't allow them people who were ranked to high get angry.

But what exactly will that provide you with?

If you knew you are about to play against champions, or bronze people, would that change the way you should/likely be playing?

I realize I'm not very positive on the game but I am trying to give reasons for that.

All I get back is "lol cod newb u must be shit at the game"

Some winners in this thread.

The pieces of advice I can give you man is to go into team slayer with almost a full party and once you learn the maps and how to use the traversal system effectively it will be way easier at avoiding getting killed if someone sees you first.

An alt account is your friend, guys.

I play on my alt account when I'm alone, and only play on Vin FTW with a To4.

It makes the game much more enjoyable if you truly care about your rank :P

Currently grinding diamond on my alt, game is a lot of fun.

Can't stop playing Halo, which is something I haven't said since Halo 2.

Kudos 343, just give us more content ASAP. Maps especially.

I don't think Orion is as bad as people think it is. It certainly looks rough but that is due to it being a forge map. The layout is just super unconventional.

Sorry, I'm a time traveler from November 2004. Take me to your leader, the one called "Juices."

Right this way.

All of this "be prepared to take cover" stuff is what I loved about old halo but in this it just doesn't seem to work for some reason. You die a lot faster, it seems like.

Just one of those days when that last kill shot just will....not....land.

Soooo many assists and unnecessary deaths.

Damn you reticule friction! Why do you abandon me in my time of greatest need?!

*shakes fist*

I just want a better looking lobby with some information of my teammates and maybe enemies. That is it. lol

Trying to get damage boost pisses me off so much. The little dumpster thing to the side of it has like a bump that you hit that screws up your sprint jump.

Thats a fair point. I dunno, it's just frustrating when you enjoy the game but get owned :(

Just completed it...

Yeah... This changes everything... Holy shit. That was... In my opinion... Amazing. Granted I did just pissed the fuck off by the stupid AI and some of the encounters... But it was Legendary and I made it through...

I need my Halo 6...

I'm really happy Roland didn't turn. I was afraid he was going to. In fact for a second there, I thought they were going to destroy the UNSC Infinity right there. Happy they didn't.

AlSO THAT LEGENDARY CLIFF HANGER. HE'S BACK!!!!!!! >:D

Final Time...

16 hours and 48 minutes... I got 13/13 skulls and 115/117 Intel.

Still busy with the campaign on solo Legendary and just finished mission 7. I LOVE those flying bits in this game, really fucking cool.

I absolutely don't agree with the negativity from some reviewers about the campaign. Awesome locations with plenty of diversity. Multiple paths in these levels, plenty of vertical gameplay and i love the A.I. on Legendary. Some locations look truly awesome and all that at a locked 60fps, not a sign of a single framedrop. And of course as DF have said, plenty of things graphically have been sacrificed but i am not lying when i say i have not noticed them. Not saying they aren't there, i just never seen it.

I really like the easter eggs to like the singing Grunt and simply the conversations these Grunts have. And last but definitely not least....these incredibly fast loading times when i load a mission, man what a difference with Halo 4. Really liking the addition of boss fights too, but personally i would have brought some variety in those.

Some people told me they finished the campaign in 4 hours in co-op and that sounds short, and that is one of the reasons i decided to play on Legendary by myself. I want a good challenge and i don't want it to be over too soon. Can you actually see how many hours you've spent on SP?

Went into the Team Arena playlist. First game was good. We donged on some scrubs in CTF.

Second game was straight up Slayer on the Rig. We won 50-12.

I went 21-2. With an 17 kill streak in there. I did really well and one of the guys on the other team was bitching after the game saying "Not fair when you guys have a fuckin' pro on your team". Highest compliment I ever received in Halo.

In Orion I prefer the side of the map with the room with the Plasmas and the DMR just on the edge of that one lookout. Avoid going into the rocks in the one corner and everything is ok.

Warzone is so sweaty sometimes. *mops brow*

The other team stole the Warden kill, but we ended up capping all three bases at the end and just rode it out by defending the armory next to their base. Won by basic point accumulation lol. So good.

they still work, is just this time around because of the size of the maps, they will easily rush to your position, so you just need to be ready to nade entry points, or just get out of that room.

Something also I was thought recently is never go to same spot you died in the previous spawn, dont ask me why is that, I just got told not to do it.

My team would be unstoppable in breakout if we had a 4th. Half the time we have to kill the random with us cuz they suck and take the good weapons and do nothing with them lol

Yes, go to your service record.

Yeah, in your service record under campaign.

Cortana is doing the humming though... Even though technically spark is kicking about based on the end of the Forerunner trilogy.

whait whut? that is cortana >>

You sure? The voice during the Legendary ending sounded way more mascluine then Cortana's voice. Also that would be weird that she would start humming, considering a lot of time you were with 343GS, he was humming along. Plus I think the idea that it's 343GS humming has far more implications than Cortana humming at a Halo ring. After all, she's in control of a lot of Forerunner stuff, so that isn't a big shocker. A bigger shocker would be 343GS is at it.

Edit: I'm an idiot. I just rewatched it on Youtube and it is Cortana. Not sure why I thought I heard a far more masculine voice. Damn, that makes the Legendary Ending a lot less exciting, since I don't consider Cortana having a Halo ring to be a big surprise. Had it been 343GS, it would have a been a lot cooler and surprising.

Unconventional is a understatement.

The sight lines on almost half the map are blocked.

Really poorly designed map.
