Just Luck 5.

SPECIAL [7 lines] and each have 10 perks in them, and all perks have multiple ranks. So.. 70 screenshots?

Oh shit lol, I will when I get it, shit, would y'all be happy if I uploaded a few and just wrote down the descriptions on here?

If not, I'll have 7Gb worth of PNG's ready and waiting :)

If you write them down its cool as long as you have a hand drawn picture for each perk! /jk

Anything is cool honestly. Beggars shouldn't be choosers. I just need the info so I can decide on character build.

Well to be fair it's probably just time until the massive amounts of bugs are reported. Bethesda has a rep for a reason.

Sure, I mean obviously there are going to be bugs, that's just the nature of that kind of game. I get why they bother people, but honestly I find them pretty easy to to ignore in general. Unless we're talking about frequent crashes or progression blocking stuff.

I have a pretty long history with Bethesda games, and the Elder Scrolls series in particular, and the console versions of the Elder Scrolls games in particular, so I may have just built up a kind of immunity.

Writing down descriptions for 70 perks with multiple ranks [1-3 ranks / perk, depending on perk]... well.. whatever floats your boat I guess :D I will be very grateful if I get to see even some/most of them pre-release.

Fine by me, y'all can have 700Mb worth of MS Paint pics instead lmao.

lol I know, I'll write them down and post them here. Afterwards I'll do 10 a time and upload them to Imgur, it'll be easier that way.

It'll help me decide on a build as well so we all win!

We shall see. I got a game ending bug on PS3 for FO3 after 25 hours. I'll be giving this a shot though.

Never played a Fallout game, but have had fun in Oblivion/Skyrim.

I have a decent computer at the moment and feeling it might be a nice time to dive in.

Would I really behind anything that I couldn't learn being totally fresh into the series?

Not really, while Fallout has a deep lore, the games stories are very stand alone in nature.

No you should be good. There will probably be some callbacks to previous games but nothing major.

Why hasn't there been a thread for the PC discussion build for Fallout 4?

Not to single out all the Gaffer's playing this on PC, it just seems in every thread someone has questions about their own PC build for this game. It just seems smart.

If you want a series retrospective to give you a good background,

If anyone is interested in a rather thorough (almost 1 hour) retrospective/analysis of Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, 3, New Vegas, and their DLCs to get ready for this very exciting upcoming release, I highly recommend this one from Noah Caldwell-Gervais.

It's the first video he ever did, so the production values are hit or miss, but he knows what he's talking about and I love his style.

I just went and tried to play New Vegas to tide me over until release (only 1 or two visual mods, max everything else) and I just can't bring myself to play it. Tried to play 3 or Skyrim, same thing. I just want to play 4. I NEED IT.

There will probably be a fallout 4 p performance thread. There usually is for every major game that's cross released

I need a full skill list SO HARD. I think I will die of hype without it. D:

With so many copies floating around already, I hope we get that soon.
Also wondering when I get my GMG key. When do they usually deliver pre-order keys? I'll be damned if they ship on the start shipping ON the 10th or even later. :X

I believe GMG said they'll be getting them out as soon as Bethesda gives the okay, probably in time for pre-load.

Honestly, full list of perks would be awesome, but off-hand, the ones we know barely anything on are Strength 7, 8,9,10, Endurance 9, and luck 5/9.

But anything you can get at all would be appreciated! :p

Looking at screenshots, I keep thinking "Ok, what can I jump on to escape a goddamn deathclaw?" Those things are terrifying.

I just want to exploooooore.

Only possible negative that matches general concerns appears to be
the dialogue
. Not gonna be a fan if it's as described.

But no, not too spoilery at all.
Yeah. I wonder what the charisma of his/her character is. Might have a big impact on how it plays out.

Can't wait. Finished up the Witcher 3 recently (minus the expansion pack) and I feel I'm ready to embark on another big RPG. Really interested in seeing how their version of Boston turns out to be, and whether the lore's "The Institute" plays a big role in the story. I'm also someone who's really excited that they've switched to a voiced protagonist so I look forward to seeing how that turns out as well.

Also, I kind of wish it was more standard for RPG's like this to release a standalone character creator before the game releases. I know that's a good hour or two of the game right there for me, and it would be great to have sorted that all out beforehand and just start playing on launch day.

Does anyone know if those settlements you build are a required part of the game? I'm never a fan of those micromanaging aspects in games.

Optional.

It all sounds very interesting, but the fact that settlements can
be attacked while you're away and you'll receive warnings to go defend them
seems very counter intuitive to the Bethesda school of open world design, where one's whims reign supreme and there are no long-term obligations.

Do settlements serve a purpose? Do they have a benefit? Otherwise, why should I bother with them? I would just build a nice fortress for myself.
Can you build anywhere or only in designated areas?

Designated areas only, though there are supposedly a good # of them.

In terms of benefits to the player, I imagine its mostly scrap and/or crafting resources. From the E3 video, Local Leader Rank 2 can also get you random vendors, which apparently sell top tier weapons.

Regarding the difficulty levels: Anybody know if there are any trophies tied to difficulty?

The list didn't show any, no.

In the E3 promo, Howard said good settlements bring in merchants which have unique stuff to buy. They probably also make you money and resources. There are designated areas to build I'm pretty sure, noted by special crafting benches.

I liked what I read about
Legendary enemies and them being able to drop special loot! I wanna know more about Survival difficulty.

There's definitely some new and interesting stuff Bethesda's trying out here.

And we'll all be able to try it out soon, because guess what, it's November now.

Some impressions have appeared from one of the screenshot leakers. They're very general things and nothing I would consider a spoiler.

http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1541918-spoilers-new-information/

Overall seems very positive. I like what I read about difficulty levels.
The dialogue stuff sounds about in line with everything they've been implying and that's a damn shame. Otherwise, sounds fabulous. The combat impressions in particular seem very promising.

Completely optional.

Thanks for the info guys. Glad it's not totally necessary. Never liked game modes that felt like work, and that's how this mode sounds to me.

I wonder what survival is. If it's hardcore I'm in, if it's ironman I'm out. I'll just stick to very hard then. Anyway, the impressions have zero mention of rpg mechanics or anything fallout related. So.... I'll just disregard them completely until I play it my self.

There will probably be a mod for Hardcore mode, which makes me want to wait on playing the game...

I'm sitting here rocking back and forth in my chair like I am on jet. It is November now guys.

It's been a long time coming... Almost there.
