Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Break out is fucking awesome actually. But I find it too long, I play that a lot but when I am in a breakout mood. If I want to play objective type game mode, I play team Arena and its sucks when I get put into a breakout game.

yo frankie, no hard feelings right, you know how much I love this game :P its FUCKINGGGGGGGGG awesome.

You need more "NNNN"s to balance out the "NG" sound.

WTF

I only just found out you can press A in a warthog to hotswap to the gun without getting out.

GAME CHANGER, I can use warthogs while solo now without sweat.

So, after several Req packs, I finally get a DMR. "Great!" I think. Start a game of Warzone, reach Req level 3, go to use it as I would the BR and it's a Req level 6 item!

What?!?
Good, it should be a high ranking item.

The DMR and it's super effective long range pretty much killed Halo 4 BTB, don't want Warzone to suffer the same fate.

how does the champion rank work?

Top 200 players are ranked champion

Champion 1 is highest rank player in the world for that playlist. Champion 200 is is the #200 player in the world.

So Champion is the highest tier of rank you can be but the lower the Champion rank the better.

At least you have a DMR. Level 27 all Warzone countless silver packs with some gold and still don't have it. Plenty of armor, visors and helmets that I don't care about though.

How does everyone feel about the maps? Overall I think they are good and stuff like Fathom, the rig really stand out. But Orion and regret I feel like are cruddy.

Also Does anybody know what the deal with the map rotation is? There are some cool maps that could be in the slayer playlist, like truth and Eden?

Anyone seen the artwork for the 'My Rules' achievement?

Chief's wearing the cloak from the original teaser. Content cut?

Didn't really play much BTB in Halo 4 tbh, so wasn't aware it was an issue.

Still, would be interested to see the ttk differences between BR and DMR.

:(

I'm really frustrated. I can't... I just can't work out why I don't like the MP. I seem to get slapped down every freaking duel I get into, and I would consider myself fairly decent at halo. What am I doing wrong.

Maybe I'm just getting old.

Warzone is giving me flashbacks to my old final fantasy item hoarding days. in saving all my needlers for when I REALLY need them :/

That's better. Especially since you'd have to pronounce "sakeeeeeee" like it rhymes with "take meeeee"
Stinkles, when you have some free time, can you pop by the "aiming issues" thread? There's been some new developments.
Thanks,

Probably less cut content and more a direction explored but ultimately not pursued. A direction I would like to see however.

wanna join me and run a few customs and work on it? send me your tag if you want

warzone assault really needs overtime / contested time for final pushes, it takes X seconds to capture a point but when the game goes below that it's pointless trying due to no overtime if someone is trying to cap it.

Rather big oversight.

If the DMR is req rank 6 then bah, i'll just have to find a scoped BR and use that instead.

Last night I was dominating in Slayer. Wake up this morning and I'm doing absolutely horrible. Maybe its cause I just woke up, I don't know but I'm taking a break. My soul hearts.

Actually, I probably just need coffee. Yessss.

Man these loading times, i love them. They were rather long in Halo 4 for the campaign, and now it's a world of difference. There is very little so far that i don't like about the game.

I'm old, and I was also having issues with getting stomped.

Just keep playing and make use of the new movement system. Once I started embracing the shoulder charge, ground pound, clambering, and duck slide, I started doing a lot better.

Also the matchmaking is finally matching me with similar skill levels.

Did my placement matches for Team SWAT today, got Onyx :D... Team Frankie represent! After that, I played Warzone and proceeded to win everyone of them! And I finally played March on Stormbreak as my last Warzone game... it was good.

Have completed my Heroic run. What's with the refusal to bring back a daring warthog run for the finale in more recent Halos?!

Aside from that, I'm going to go ahead and say it was my favourite Halo campaign. Not necessarily my favourite story, but I did really enjoy that part of it as well. But the gameplay and maps were exceptional. Certainly wasn't twice as long as 4, though...lol. I do wish Buck had been more chatty, and had given us a bit more attitude.

Anyways, when can we expect Halo 5: Part Two?

I'd say it has a lot to do with the fact that every weapon now is essentially just as strong as the next (So weapon choice almost becomes unimportant), it makes it much harder to hold down power weapons or zones as effectively anymore. This leads to closer games, smaller skill gaps, basically no learning curve (the game literally calls out power weapons for you instead of using KNOWLEDGE to time them) and a friendlier game for casuals.

Its not that you are getting worse its that the game is casualized so everyone can do well. (This makes great business sense - LCD for everyone equals $$$)

No longer can you just easily 4-5 shot a SMG rusher with BR, that SMG actually has a chance to take you down.

Its not Halo like it used to be. Sometimes it feels like Halo though.

I feel like Warzone Assault needs tweaking in general, its just horrible to play as attackers against a competent team.

I'd say something like instead of having to clear out the base and just exist there while the timer does its thing which is nigh on impossible since they spawn right by it and have the advantage of being holed up, make it so there is an objective you can also destroy to take over as an alternate means. So maybe there are some exposed cores dotted about and if you manage to sneak in and destroy them you achieve the same thing. Would make the defending require more than just aiming at the entrances and it would make attacking more than just throwing bodies in to a stronghold. It'd need balancing obviously but imagine you're down to the wire and you drop a camp Req at the last second and get behind enemy lines to destroy the last objective within and boom, you manage to stay in the game.

Everyone on my team quit and I was holding down pretty good and may have won if my team wasn't at a deficit before they all left.

And then a dude on the other team has the nerve to teabag. Seriously?

I think I need to work on my headshot accuracy. My average in full health Halo modes is a decent 40%. In SWAT it's 26% and in Breakout it's 33%.

Tough to say what Warzone Assault needs, my #1 wish is for varying objectives. Maybe make the first two bases Assault and 1 sided CTF rather than Capture.

Honestly though, there's this whole layer of strategy to Warzone that I don't think people have quite tipped on to yet, in terms of coordinating team loadouts. I don't know that I'd propose any real changes until a meta coalesces.

I'm just getting to mission 11, but the game didn't feel like a Halo game until mission 7 to me and I'm hoping this keeps up for the rest of the game. Missions 1-6 were "meh" or worse IMO.

Edit: just realized still having sprint boost and clamber is great during the "guns down" sections. It's so annoying when you're forced to walk slow in those types of sections.

They should just take the mechanics from Invasion and use those as the base defense stages in Warzone assault. Two small areas where you only have to stand for 30 seconds to disable the base defenses, and if the attackers get pushed out of them then the timer goes back up to 15 seconds.

Alternatively have a place you have to bring a bomb to or arm a bomb like the MCOM stations in Battlefield Rush.

6 out of my last 7 games I had at least one guy quit from my team, can't remember the last time I played a 4 v 3 the other way. Its incredibly frustrating.

Is there no way to play something similar to Blood glutch CTF?

Does the plasma caster have a legitimate reason for existing, or am I just using it wrong?

I was using it wrong at first so you probably are too.

I'd say don't charge it. Just spray that clip. Bounce the nades toward enemies or shoot them off walls. It's good for killing people in small spaces or blocking off pathways from enemies.
