The lip sync definitely looks better there.
That said, the animations are still looking exceedingly rough given that they're putting them under more of a microscope by shifting the presentation of dialogue to a more BioWare style cinematic look.
Something just seems off about Fallout 4 for me. It basically looks like more of the same but then they plop on the voiced PC which is just such a huge turnoff for me in a Bethesda style RPG. I mean, even in that first leaked video, do I really need to hear my PC mindlessly narrating to himself whenever he clicks on anything? "Nuka Cola, ice cold." "Salisbury steak, grade A+"
I was half expecting him to click on the water and mindlessly drone "Water. Its wet." I just can't stand that in games.

yeah but that's as a result of failing a lockpick check and not anywhere near as egregious as the pre-war intro sequence. It makes sense there.

get fallout 3 or NV. They'll be pretty much the same gameplay but with older graphics.
Bethesda games usually look like crap. You don't go into them for the visuals.

Just watched the new vegas quicklook (gb quicklook that is) to pass the time at work and good lord, its as bad as I remember (I mean looks wise). Which makes people saying 4 looks like 3 even more hilarious.
But like you say, im more and more convinced that people so upset at 4s graphics are people that never played 3/NV, which as apparent from a lot of posts here recently, is a lot of people.

I think we might. It looks colorful, which is excellent, but the assets and the character models look very last gen.
I dont know, I never thought Morrowind/Oblivion or Fallout 3 looked good from a graphical standpoint compared to other games released at the time.
I mean Morrowind launched alongside Halo CE and I think there was a massive difference between the quality.
Oblivion launched next to Gears of War.
Fallout 3 next to MGS4.
Honestly each of those look poor by comparison.

I really don't think they look last gen at all, for the most part. I don't think a lot of people have accurate memories as to what last gen assets and character models actually looked like (much less open world assets and character models), and this game is running at 1080p with some decent AA to boot.
I got into a bit of this in the other thread earlier and a lot of last gen games, even the ones with industry leading visuals, don't hold up anywhere near as well under scrutiny as you'd think they would, today.
Everything looks smoother - gunplay, animations, level design, looting. I'm impressed. Graphics look fine too and most of all, the art direction is looking great.

Morrowind looked like mud at release, oblivion looked weird and has tons of issues graphically, fallout 3 looked like fucking shit at release, and skyrim looked fine
But that's the point.
I'd rather take easy to read and nice looking but hey, can't get it all.
