Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

The Halo gods smiled on you in that game dear child.

I feel as though I one-up'd the Halo gods with this one. It's like the once in a lifetime Halo lottery. Just surviving the Assassination like I did is one thing. But to jack that Hog immediately after? I am still shocked it happened.

Except against the players who don't give a shit about REQ points.

That's where the derankings and time bans come into play. If they don't care about REQ points or Warzone, they clearly will care about Arena/Ranks. This is just entrenched bad behavior over the past like 7-8 years. Gonna take a while to root out again.

just got a full party for some games tonight.

so damn good. love this game. super fucking competitive. I'm getting a lot better

good games rev3rb and juices

Unstable H20 and I got a full party together for Warzone and completely wrecked shit tonight!

Twenty One games won in row before I had to go offline.

Add me if you want to join us next time. GT is WRC Evo X.

I miss firefight. It would have been nice to have.
This game could really use some form of a replayable PVE mode. In my opinion, the REQ system would work much better in a co-op environment (more opportunities to show off your gear, your REQs couldn't be used against you and they generally last longer against AI, which surely would make people less hesitant to burn their one use cards).

I won't pretend to know what's going on behind the scenes in Warzone, but it doesn't seem impossible that its base code could support a PVE mode. Cut player count down and replace them with more enemy AI and you have a really basic Firefight right there.

Went 30-9 on my first swat game. Felt good.

Two players quit on my team but it was just more for me to shoot. Got a triple and tons of doubles. That mode is pretty good.

Just wanted to quote you to show my support to that idea. It has to happen in some way.

lmao

what is UP with Mute All? It rarely works for me. Stinkles is this a known bug? I'll hold view, hit X to Mute All and nothing happens. Then I'll mute each individual person and yet I can still hear them all.

I love how there is a mode for everyone. I hate the long battles of Warzone, I love the short bursts of intense action of Breakout. Showdown is great when you're matched with and against a decent team. Same goes for Capture the Flag. Other people love Warzone and despise all Arena modes. 343i did a good job. Same can be said about the campaign. In Coop I felt it was the best Halo period, just missing some large scale vehicle battles with 4 Scorpions against the Covenant. In Singleplayer it feels a lot more tedious with AI babysitting and just too many waves of enemies in a lot of spots. Fighting fifty enemies of four different types is just annoying (that's just one battle).

Frankie,

Every single person involved with the decision that boss kills in Warzone should be decided by the final shot, is a moron.

Every single one. Anybody who had sign off authority. Anybody who QA'ed it for a single day.

I wouldn't trust them to water a plant, let alone balance a multifaceted multiplayer mode.

Given that Warzone draws a lot from MOBAs and last hit is a huge thing for most of those, it makes sense. I like it.

Just got my two premium packs for the week, at least i got spartan laser certification
also I REALLY hate it when the other team is winning in warzone, and brings out a promethean vehicle, mantis, tank, and wraith all at once. Makes me so mad lmao

Was just looking through my friends list, I have a friend who has put 20 hours into FFA.

Got my 2 premium packs, got my Rocket Launcher, Plasma Caster, Scorpion and Oni Scout Hog Certifications along with a few pieces of armor, a new assassination and a new stance.

lol had a sub 10 mins Warzone. We captured all the bases within 4 minutes and were already hitting their core. Too bad it dragged out though.

...it seriously makes no sense. Any other scenario I can think of is better, even if some are not ideal:

- Split points based on damage given, instead of being all-or-nothing
- Team that does the most damage gets all points
- Killing blow is worth X% or so of the "total", but the other remainder accumulates depending on the team's damage.

There is *some* strategy to having a team deal with the boss while a few others keep the other team from reaching it so your team can nab the points, but then REQing a decent long-range weapon and waiting to try to get the final shot in is a ridiculously effective strategy.

Worse -- Some of these are worth a HELL of a lot of points, and holding points barely is! So the game ends up completely turning on this arbitrary decision over who landed the final blow. Crazy, crazy stuff.

Still, c'mon. No need to be that abrasive with the criticism. Play nice :)

The whole game hinges on accumulating 1000 points, and bosses give 150. It's massive, and it makes no sense to have that depend only on the final blow.

Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that cowardice to deviate from sources of inspiration should undermine a 343i product.

*cough*

Seriously though, at a fundamental mechanical level, there's a ton to love about Halo 5. When it comes to what separates great games from the elite - AI, balance, polish - it slips on a banana peel into a woodchipper.

I guess that's what makes companies like Bungie special.

Wow I'm sure he'll take your criticism seriously after your super respectful post.
