Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

The HUD is the worst part of Warzone. Where are the mobs? Where are all the bases? Are they being captured?

e.g. Standing at West Armory looking at Garage and East Armory, there's no HUD element for East... so I can't tell what's happening over there, even though I can see the building?

Or spawning at Garage and trying to get to East Armory; good luck getting your bearings if the game refuses to show you that waypoint.

And I never know where mobs are and what they're up to unless I'm practically on top of them. Warzone is a mode I typically play without a headset and I have never heard anyone talk during, so I'm not quite sure the expectation here. "I think the AI said they're at the crane... I don't know where that is."

Make HUD like this and flash if being captured or something

Yeah, lack of updates on stuff like bases being captured and stuff. Definite oversight

He said it's one of the shortest Halo games. That's got to be factually wrong right? Halo 5 sits at about the middle in terms of Halo playtime length for me.

Mission lengths and campaign lengths in Halo have always been bizarre to me as topics of debate, because I can't think of a campaign I've ever said "that was too short". (I was fine with H2's cliffhanger ending.) If anything I've been more annoyed by the missions which felt like they were padding out the lengths of things (Halo CE's excessively long AOTCR or Two Betrayals, in general defense missions or areas where I have to clear out absolutely everybody.) Then again, I really have two modes for campaign enjoyment—play it slow, exploring nooks and crannies, hearing rare dialogue, or fast and cheese as much as I can. I've probably only played the end of Nightfall legit maybe once, haven't taken the final elevator and assaulted the control room on foot in more than a decade, and merrily skip the first two-thirds of Shutdown by default.

On the subject of campaign length, I've always been a bit surprised at how lengthy Halo 2 turned out to be after all the troubles they had in development. They infamously cobbled the whole thing together in barely any time at all, and cut loads out, but it still turned out to be the longest game in the series.

Aiming, shooting, weapon-balance?

I can see why people are enjoying the game, don't get me wrong -- I'm happy that many of you are -- it was just personally a disappointment to me, which makes me sad. Maybe I'm just getting old. ;)

I understand what you are comming from, like I said before, every Halo is different than the other, and not every one that liked Halo before is going to like this Halo.

But how I see it, the input the Pro gave about the game had more to do with Balance in matchmaking, and even so, their input didn't made the game ultra hardcore, as someone with an AR can shred up close someone with a BR , and their input didn't traveled to the SP, as something like the Auto in SP and MP have noticeable differences.

Playing through this on Legendary is the least fun I have had with a Halo game so far. I feel like I'm missing something, like there's some really obvious strategy I'm overlooking. And I continue to dislike the Prometheans as far as enemy types go. Just a slog so far. The part at
Meridian, where it's just wave after wave of them
is torturous and I haven't even gotten to a boss fight of any kind.

Is it your first play through? I think Heroic is the way to go to have the most fun on the first play through.

Wow, i was assassinating a guy and friendly ran up to him with a shotgun and shot him so he got the kill...

wtf is wrong with people, the enemy was laying ON the ground as i was about to punch him

Lol when I am on with my mates, we always do that to each other. It's always a good laugh hearing the expletives...

Doing it with friends is one thing, but random people actively going out of their way to kill someone you more or less got the kill on is just stupid.

all of this. Plus nerfing the radar just to add it back in at better strength as a power up.

I love how when you spawn you're not facing the direction of at least the middle base if you're at one of the outside ones.

Is empire and truth not part of the slayer rotation. Those were my two favorite maps inn the beta and I haven't come across them once.

Empire is only team arena for slayer for some reason and Truth is in the rotation for slayer but I haven't seen it once. Friend at the studio said they are aware of such things

Stinkles,

So in Warzone (regular Warzone, not Assault) there are crucial moments when not all three capture bases show up on the HUD. For example, whenever the enemy has captured all three bases. It never shows the furthest armory. Which would help A LOT because it appears I am the only person on my team that remembers that that is an option. Everyone else is busy just trying to recapture the nearest armory because that's all that shows up on their HUD. I go all the way around and capture the furthest armory and that one is way easier to take back. But, the rest of my team just wont help. Again, because they just don't see it and/or forget.
Signed. I also miss boss fights cause there's no HUD icon/nav marker until getting really close.

Is this the right place (or could someone direct me to the right place) to find some folks to play warzone with? I love playing it, but I feel a bit stupid trying to call for help with a base or NPC when nobody answers since they're all partied up. One match I was in people actually talked, and it was glorious.

I'm usually around evenings EST, GT is Mzoga.

(And if there's a thread for this, my apologies, I'll head that way :)

Exactly my point.

Yeah I really don't see why you would think pros had too much influence. This is the first Halo where I don't feel disadvantaged at spawn, and still am inclined to pick up non-power weapons when given the chance. Sure this means it's a lot harder to take on e.g. 4 people armed with ARs with a BR even if you're much better than them like you sometimes could in Halo 3, but that's because of better balance which prevents you from taking advantage of poor sods that just spawned. It's still easy to win fights where you are outnumbered against weaker opponents if you position yourself correctly and use grenades well but that requires actual skill as opposed to abusing a weapon advantage. If this is the kind of gameplay we get when pros have influence I could do with a lot more of it.

Give your AI friends orders and power weapons, esp if you're trying to concentrate on bringing a mob down.

At higher difficulties I feel like they do nothing without orders.

Definitely agree with this. I played solo Heroic first, then solo legendary. I had a blast

Yeah, it is. Which is usually how I do it. And, honestly, I don't say that because I think I'm a master at Halo. I just don't have the time to play it twice and I always manage to complete them. This one is just frustrating though.

The worst part is they don't really do anything with orders. I get deja vu every time I watch one of my teammates do a 2 minute dance with enemies I can take down in less than half the time.

But where is my pre-order bonus at?

I'm so glad that works. Allows players the opportunity to be gentlemen or dicks. Without the sour, the sweet ain't as sweet.

Or choose your own rationalization!

Man, I pretty much get the retrieving data error every other game. I know I still get my xp and req points but it would be nice to actually view postgame stats
