Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I'm still sitting here wondering what the hell 343 was thinking with these 8 second respawn timers.
Who the hell places a respawn timer in deathmatch

Nah, i like it a lot, it calms my nerves down a bit and it actually makes a death mean something and also realize what you did wrong and to not repeat the mistake

He is criticizing the facts, the fact is that cosmetics could have been unlocked by a progression system like all other Halo's, instead they are lumped into REQ cards. Instead of having people play to get a certain thing you give people the option to buy packs in order to possibly unlock certain thing or play to possibly unlock certain thing. I mean if you don't see that they did that to make more money then I don't know what to tell you. In one scenario there's more of a chance for you to spend money then not.

Cosmetics are only in REQs? Yea that's a dumb system, but 343's progression system in Halo 4 was trash so I can see why they moved away from it.

I was referring to the notion that microtransactions will get worse though because big bad corporation or something.

I keep being in situations where fuck all from the other team is around yet somehow THEY get the kill for Legendaries. It's like people can just sit across the map and only shoot once or twice when the thing is down to 10HP

Yeah, kill stealing is totally a thing. You have to be careful.

If you're not playing with a group of friends of your own, this is probably one of the most frustrating multiplayer shooters out there. The awful spawning and size of the maps just makes things incredibly imbalanced, and that much more difficult to overcome. If it's one vs two or three, unlike other shooters, there's basically very little chance to defeat the odds. It's a game of numbers. Seems like a lot of people are partied up too. Is there not an option to play arena where no parties are involved?

Thats Halo, you need to be very good and the opposing players very bad to win in a 1 v 2 situation, that actually balance, 2 > 1, so 2 players should most of the time defeat 1, and 3? I see more than 2 dots on my radar Im out of there.

it's a really fucking stupid oversight. don't want to play Warzone anymore until it's changed.

They can do Warzone REQ's to their hearts desires since it now means the multiplayer community won't be splintered to hell and back when new maps get released. (and it's not exactly a small number a new maps)

I agree that it's a good thing we get free maps, if the majority of those maps end up being forge maps then I will be way less pleased and so far that's what it looks like we're getting for BTB. I wish at least a certain amount of helmets and armor were unlockable through a progression system.

Well yeah of course he's going to pinpoint the worse case scenario. As far as microtransactions go this is the least egregious one I've seen because of the free maps.

It should be given to the group that does the most damage.

It's true, although I play solo the majority of the time, and I'm definitely winning more than I'm losing. It hasn't been all that frustrating, really.

Thank god it has that respawn timer as it does. Let's not COD it up even more please.

I think Slayer in past titles had 5-7 second respawn timers. 8 seconds definitely feels longer, but with Sprint letting you get back to the action so fast on these small maps i think it's necessary.

Guys any help I keep getting this error

Pretty sure I got placed in a higher rank than I belong, and I can't de-rank so I'm stuck being outplayed and hoping to be carried :p

I will say that half of my games have been by myself, and when I play with my friends I think I have around a win percentage of 90, and by myself is like 55 or 60. so far I only have not liked on of my MP games, and it was in Oasis

I think the kill should be given to the killer. However there should be a secondary split of damage percentage. Otherwise people would just stop shooting it after you do 50% damage.
That would actually be better though, they will have lost that boss battle and focus on something else. Then again, the winning party will become sitting ducks.

:\

Sitting here at work and thinking about getting back to Halo 5 on legendary and MP.

I need more certs but the REQ gods are not delivering.

That feel when your team are 0.3KD at best

How do they even get put in the same division?

EDIT: Just won a strongholds 100 - 7, (4v4 until right at end)....some games are crazy unbalanced

The only time I've seen this is when I tried saving manually during a set piece. Saving later on worked for me since the game checkpoints often enough.

It hasn't successfully saved at all though :/

If I die I get back to a checkpoint but if I quit I'm back to the start of the first mission! >_<

There's no point in me continuing until I can fix this D:

Yikes. I'd delete all saved data and try again.

Press start on the game through the dash and choose "manage game." You likely will have a save created when first starting the campaign.

So I got ranked gold 1 in slayer. And ever since I finished placement matches I've been top of my team every game. The ranking is really weird. If 343 want me to keep donging on scrubs, well, so be it I guess.

Who stole Halsey's arm? They obviously emphasized the whole hand scan part in the beginning of the game. I just wonder why they didn't just take her hand. Taking an arm is very bad assed, but that's getting into psychotic territory.

Can someone from europe tell me if this is playable?
Are you matched very often with USA players or is matchmaking actualy searching for europe players?
I have average connection and I am rally far from USA and it's almost unplayable for me when matched with usa. It was really annoying in the beta.
And once again, why there is no data center selection as they promised? :/

She was shot I believe, and they had to amputate. It's in the Spartan Oops cutscenes for Halo 4.

dual health bars is the best idea - one for each team.

If the other team's health bar is lower than yours, kill the other team around it.

That way everyone has to do the same amount of damage to the boss

For what it's worth, I think this is one of the harder Halo's for Legendary. Even with the revive mechanic, there are just so many, many, guys and they all have good aim. Plus, most of the times your A.I (they left the 'I' out of that part btw) guys just go down in seconds.

Still fun though, for me anyways.

Heroic seems to be the sweet spot.

All of this. So many bullet sponge enemies with pixel perfect aim. Even Halo 2 didn't seem this bad most of the time. The revive mechanic almost makes it worse, because you have to wait until all your teammates die (because they will, usually on their way to revive you) instead of just respawning. I would really love to be able to play an actual solo campaign.

I might wind up dropping to Heroic, even though I want that achievement and that extra ending scene.

I'm actually sad they removed the bro-like high fives and celebration from the victory screen-now they just stand there after a match and it's strange.

Well that was ...frustrating. Finally do decent 2 games in a row in warzone but get disconnected near the end of both games, so no req points either.

But then aiming skill is then devalued imo. The balance should be such that you can still win a 1 vs 2 if you're talented enough and have exceptional aim, and I'd say most popular online fps get this balance down pretty well. Here a combination of spawn points, ttk, shoulder barge and nade spamming make that very difficult.

Sub-battles.

That sounds.. neat actually.

let's say in theory it takes 100,000 hit points to kill the Warden.

With dual health bars, Blue Team does 75k damage and then Red Team swoops in and annihilates Blue Team. Red Team then has to do 100k damage to kill the Warden. If Blue Team manages to come back, they'll only have to do 25k, so Red Team has to "control the boss" to keep them off of it.

In the current system, Red Team would only have to do 25k, which means they can hide until the boss is low and then steal it. Blue Team could do 99k and still lose the boss if Red Team scores the killing blow. That's just stupid.

She took a bullet to her arm and Sangheili medics aren't experts in human anatomy so they amputated it in Halo 4 Spartan Ops.

I actually like the fact that the enemy team can come steal the kill. Makes clearing out the enemies in the area just as important.

What I would change is make it so people in the area on the same team get the credit for the boss kill instead of just the guy that gets the last hit. That way people are willing to kill enemies instead of just trying to focus the boss down.

That isn't really what happens. You don't even need to be near the boss - you can just snipe Baron or Warden from across the map and get the kill.

edit: sounds like you're referring to something else.

What's strange is people complaining that the celebrations were bro. Maybe it's because I played sports but I didn't get the complaint about them.

Is it normal for the Xbox One to crash and restart every other time I turn it on and try to play a game? Happened with every one of my Xbone games but especially with Halo 5
