Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I've bad multiple matches tonight where the post game stats never load, I'm staring at a side view of my spartan holding a gun, and I get no req points. Back end issues? Am I alone?

Glad BR starts aren't a thing in Arena, nothing more tedious than a bunch of cross-map pinging straight out the gate. Most games of H2 multiplayer felt like a drag because of it.

Enter slayer playlist to bust out my 10 games for ranking. First game 3 of my teammates leave after first death. I proceed to go 0-47 since they controlled power weapons and just all around raped me. Followed by a teabag after every death. Felt bad man.

Damn, I feel for you. And yea, people quit pretty much every game. I always stand my ground, but it does get hard.

I asked a few pages ago, but does anybody want to team up for this?

You, uh, do start with the Magnum.

But I need to write an essay.

I really like the BR in Halo 5 but I'd never want BR starts in normal arena game types. The (relatively) low TTK would make it infuriating.

He's saying he doesn't want people to spawn with ARs at all, to which I say: booooooo. Pistol consistently outshoots it, but having ARs on spawn hugely improves the experience for less-skilled players. Precision-only imposes a minimum skill level on enjoyment. As they gain skill, they start running into people who can use the pistol, and as such become forced to use it themselves, but that's a more natural progression.

yeh but those should be flipped.

umm...no

I guess he means it's annoying to fight against. I find most people use it when solo queuing in Platinum Team Slayer which doesn't always lead to fun matches, you really need some teamwork to capitalise on the magnum's range advantage.

Seriously, I don't understand the complaint here at all.

If you can't outshoot an AR with the Magnum, then git gud.

I always carry a weapon for spray and a semi auto. SMG and BR is my traditional loadout in Warzone. In Arena I swap out my AR for a more powerful equivalent. Same with the magnum. Feel like it keeps me flexible.

Ditto. Unless there's a power weapon available, in which case I'll generally drop my AR/SMG/Storm etc.

I have absolutely no business being Onyx in FFA.

The smg is a power weapon
Don't think it's classified as a power weapon. Certainly felt like it was in the beta. Right now it feels somewhere in between the AR and Saw.

Same tier as the BR, I guess.

I find there is way too much stress associated with grabbing the sniper rifle or RL. Feel like it you don't rock with it you are letting your team down. DMR is a happy medium between killing power and not feeing like an asshole if you fuck up and get killed holding it. Hydra the same as a replacement for the RL.

Git gud? Haha. Of course a single enemy with AR is no problem. Can you take on 2, 3, (let's say average skilled) players AR spraying and rushing you though? I'm half decent and sure as hell can't unless I'm in a lucky position. I prefer automatics with lower damage in Halo.

In FFA easy as fuck to get jumped while you're already in a gunfight, in major part due to the maps of course. Even with perfect kills, you're bound to have taken a bit of damage and AR will take u down in virtually no time. As poodlestrike mentioned above "ARs on spawn hugely improves the experience for less-skilled players". And that's coming from someone who approves of it.

Meh, I used to feel the same way, but then I realized nobody is really paying attention to what you're doing anyway.

Haven't played a Halo since 2. Had some extra amazon credit and picked up a xbox one. Then went to Best Buy and picked up the halo 5 limited editon and Master Chief collection. Excited but buying all of this before Fallout 4 is a mistake. lol.

I'm failing to see how this situation would be any different without AR/Magnum starts...

Are Empire, Eden and Truth in Slayer at all? I have yet to play them.

Also, how do you check out the playlists and what's in rotation on Halo Waypoint? There should be a simple section on the header that directs to that kind of info.

Truth was supposed to be in Slayer according to the Launch Playlists article, but instead we got Orion (even though that map was not listed for Slayer). I have never played Truth in Slayer and Empire and Eden are only in Team Arena for Slayer.

Man, getting pretty burned out on Warzone.

- Zero point in playing solo. You get dicked by premades 24/7. Absolutely zero fun to be had in these instances, especially when they all have a shit load of good REQ cards.
- Everyone seems to have the longshot BR, no wonder cross mapping people always seemed to be a losing battle (solely in Warzone).
- Some guy running around with what seems to be a 3 shot BR
- Good luck on taking Spire/Fortress away from a team that isn't downright retarded.

yeah I disagree with all of these. Maybe you just need more practice to get used to it. I play almost always solo on Warzone and do way better that way. I don't even scope with my BR, and no pros do either.

Uh, if you're convinced automatics require the same level of accuracy as BR/pistol/dmr than there's no point trying to tell you otherwise ^_^ and anyone else for that matter, defending it other than on the basis that it's more casual friendly (again, as some admit while still in approval. I respect that)

And as I've mentioned many times in the thread it's not just that, it's the added mobility, speed, and abilities AND chaotic map design that allow teams to regroup and rush faster than ever before and FFA matches often to be about jumping enemies already mid battle, yay cheap kills. Not satisfying whether I'm on the receiving end or not. I win a ton of my FFA matches and I just dont get that sense of accomplishment I had from previous games.

Dunno what goes on in warzone though, might be fine over there

They just started and are playing for the next two hours or so.

so they'll get around 6 matches in if they play normal warzone for 2 hours with balanced teams.

I'd say 10 if lucky.

Which means 120 people (opposing).

Now consider 50/50 win/loss ration thats 60 people that get away with REQ packs.

Im tired so math may be off, but 2 hours of Warzone aint all that much considering most matches seems to last 20 or so minutes.

Edit: That last Legendary cutscene got me hyped.
ITS HALO

But they are most likely not in a party to spread out 343i employees. All you have to do is beat a 343i employee to "earn some sweet REQ's."

I'm not talking about accuracy of the weapons at all. I'm just pointing out that you used a bad example. No matter what gun is being used, most of the time you will not win a 2 or 3 on 1 in Halo, unless you get the jump on them. This can be said for any Halo game.

And I'm not talking about the accuracy of the weapons either. Holy shit man. How do you get accuracy of the weapons from "level of accuracy required for specific weapons". Like I said, I won't bother.

LOL. Angry Joe's review mentions not one BUT TWICE that the game should be reviewed as is, then spends 5 minutes lamenting hypothetical future nefarious microtransaction changes.

What a joke.

Frankie! My number one complaint about the game right now is that shields and text for your troops will sometimes go Red/Green colourblind for me and I can't tell who is who. This is extremely bad for me when team mates are in vehicles in Warzone. I cannot tell if they are good guys or bad guys and I will sometimes fire on my own men.

Please please please change these colours or make them more obvious. Someone at 343 has to be as red green colourblind as I am.

We need to know if you can beat 2 or 3 other players.
