On the other hand, i know people like Snake aren't feeling SFV gief but...

I it's a more unanimous that Sim is looking kinda weak right now.

To be fair, Ultra David also thought people were sleeping on Dan at one point...

Everything is really shaky when the game is first being played. I get that you feel that people are being extremely dismissive of the Sim players, but there is such a long history of people making claims that characters are strong or weak only to have that be completely undermined a few months later as people start to grasp the game better.

That being said, maybe Dhalsim is a little weak at the moment. That may definitely be the case (it is probably the most likely scenario). At which point, I am sure he will receive adjustments before the game launches.

I think David said something like people need to start playing footsies in the air more often when playing as Sim. He certainly seems much stronger in the air in SFV compared to past games.

idk we'll see

It has already been said by someone that his air control is really strong. I think Arturo Sanchez, possibly?

I just hope Sim doesn't go through "this character is weak --> someone finds out good stuff with them ---> people complain a lot and now the character is nerfed to the point even original character users drop them" cycle.

In that case you can say that about any character, ever. And yes it's good to give feedback now, before the game is released. I'm sure Capcom is looking for that kind of feedback at these stages.
Overall feedback probably, see what people like and what not, Balance feedback? Nope, not from people who played the game for few hours. Hell Combofiend mentioned they're not looking at balance feedback during the beta, and people got to play that for almost a week.

I talked with David a bit about sim, he thinks he's less of a defensive character and more mobility based. People will need to approach him extremely differently.

For the record I beat haunts' Laura which means I get his job now

Saw you on stream and Sandy was super hype for you, lol. She was super happy when you won. It was vs. Some Ryu player pretty early in.

UltraDavid shares my thoughts. I havent seen a lot of good usage of his VSkill, even though it seems central to his play.

Dhalsim less of a defensive character and more mobility based with range score of 5 and mobility score of 1?! Doesn't add up:p

And I think the reason why you don't see good use of his v-skill is because of how limited it is. You can not cancel in to the grounded version, you do not have projectile/throw invuln on groundes v-skill activstion, you can not controll the height of grounded v-skill and there is a gief head high hight restriction on air v-skill and also you can not cancel out of v-skill instantly. All of these are limitations that, if gone, would make the v-skill much more interesting and viable!

Haha cool. I honestly played really badly. I was getting bored mid match and just started doing things. I knew I'd win but honestly sf4 just isn't fun for me anymore. Waiting on that sfv hotness now.
Tell her I say hello though!

Capcom is probably using mobility to mean speed. Dhalsim undoubtedly is the most mobile character in SFV.

Arturo put in a lot of time with Sim this past weekend. Dude could probably play any iteration of Sim at a high level. He's not some random scrub, who's just going to try and play Sim like 4. He's going to think outside the box. Same with Champ. Kinda ridiculous how dismissive people are, as if Capcom is perfect or that they totally nailed Sim in SF4 even or like SFV is overly complex and no way they can possibly have grasp the character over a few days!

That doesn't really change my feelings on it. No matter how good or how much time a guy has over a weekend, it's still nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands of hours a community collectively has over a year.

Not to mention that pros don't necessarily figure it all out. They're good at piecing together what they've developed with what they've seen other people use. He might figure out links, all the moves and their properties, but it takes match up data, experience and competitive gameplay to really see a character's strength.

right but to be completely dismissive on the other hand is really stupid.

Also this is a good write up and you should read it, mirroring a lot of what art, champ, UD have said.

Honestly the fact that people can't figure him out is doing more to interest me on Sim so far than any other character has

Man, that last video from the Canada Cup selection is amazing. R.Mika Vs. Dhalsim looks like a match of crazy extremes. Pretty fun to watch (even if the play was a little rough around the edges).

Despite being one of those weird people that doesn't care much for any of the Street Fighter 2 cast members (except for Sagat and Claw; the latter of whom, hilariously, appears to be one of the most disliked of the bunch) I have been sold on Dhalsim. He is just so well done in SFV (aesthetically speaking, that is). He looks great. I also like how heavily they have redesigned his playstyle, though hopefully, whether it be through fans "cracking the code" or Capcom giving him some more tools, he ends up being viable.

Where did Snake say that? I saw this interview and he seems to like him

So, people have prodded around in the audio files and found announcer voices for urien, alex, ibuki, guile, balrog and juri.

Interesting stuff. So Fan/"Fun" is actually confirmed then? And the names of fighting game tournaments in there are cool, too.

I hope Guile's still a zoner and a charge character at least. He's one of my favourites because of his playstyle, even if I'm not fond of the character himself.

So the last character is actually named Fan? Maybe it's a Rashid/Rachid situation and Ken Bogard misheard the name hence Zen?
I was really hoping for someone more interesting than Guile to make it in. Maybe they'll finally revamp his character.
I'm sure he'll get cool new shit to play with

Probably, but when Rachid is the French transcription for the same name, on the other hand Fan and Zen sound very, very different... I wonder what happened here if that's the case.

He's played the same for 20 years, definitely time to change it up...and give him more than 2 specials for a change

I hope his v-skill and v-trigger are his glitches from world warrior.
Things like the 'super throw' where he doesn't even have to be near the opponent or his 'golden handcuffs' where the opponent just gets frozen and attached to guile until the timer runs out.

They said Balrog and Vega but no Bison, so it's probably the Japanese names for Vega and Bison. If it was the English names we would have heard Vega, Bison, and Balrog together.
Balrog, Vega and Bison are all there

Also Boxer's files (BSN) have been found anyway

Re: Zen/Fan - Maybe Zen is part of his/her name and Fan another part. Say Zen Fang, or something like that. "Fan" is only based on the 3 letter abbreviations, no?

Wow, nice find. Is the source reliable?
If so, Fan it is. It sounds Asian.

According to the audio files posted above, Fan is the actual name, not an acronyme. Or is the 'G' mute?
And yeah no clue about 'Zen'.

Ah yah Urien confirmed...

Jesus, the entire roster leaked.

Why would you put audio files with your entire roster in a PC beta.

Well there we have it, "TUT" refers to "illustrations" for the tutorial mode.

SfXTK did something similar with Dan explaining the game to the player.
