Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I'm on an almost 80 percent win percentage in Warzone, and half or more of my games I've played by myself.

There is an element of luck involved in the teams, sure.

But I've found that if you can do the most basic thing in your team, the randoms 'should' make the game at least playable for you.

The most basic thing being capturing the side bases, and never the middle one everyone fights over, it's harder to do on the ARC, but on Stormbreak and Apex, just have a little bit of patience and work your way around to the enemy base, capture and hold it.

Rarely have I found more than 1 person holding a base. They all seem to congregate around the centre.

Indeed, i've been adopting similar tactics recently, and amusingly ran into you a couple of times last night.

Is it just me or does it seem that playing a map gives it a far higher chance to be played again until you leave matchmaking?

HAHA!

I told my teammate, Andy, that I've seen that name somewhere, in hindsight, there's only very few forums I do visit.

My randoms were horrendous, me and Andy managed to get the west armory a couple of times, but man, it was no good with the people we had, just bleh.

I think I'm at a 45% win percentage in Warzone (might be less) but I've had fun even when losing. Even when getting curbstomped. I think people just expect to always win, as if the game owes them that W.

What's amusing is that they will go to BTB when it launches, and find the same issues... Plus the awesomeness of getting betrayed if you pick up a power weapon. Can't wait for that lol

I've played 84 Matches of Warzone: 44% Win Rate. 37 Wins, 47 Losses.

That's like 25 Hours of Warzone BTW. (Level 28 in Rank) I only have a KDA of 0.9, so you know i'm not good!

At this point, i've given up actually helping my team much though. I am just trying to Max out the Magnum and SMG Kills I get to get the Loadout Weapon Commendation.

Right now, I only get annoyed that I get Assists when I want kills so I can stop using those Crap-Tier Weapons and use a BR...and the DMR when the game gives me one!

Will love BTB though because it will give me a few more maps to play and small breaks from Warzone.

I was playing with a single friend last night in Warzone Assault, and at one point we took a corp warthog out by the armory, and sat outside for literally two and a half minutes killing the enemy team. Piles of Wheelman medals.

Rather than pushing in and capping the target, our entire team... sort of stood around near our warthog and never went in the building.

I've never seen anything like it before. Remind me to never provide fire support.

Almost matched by the game where I got a warthog gunner who, I'm fairly sure, was legally blind, five, or very, very confused.

How do you check Warzone KDA?

Did you have randoms such as xand on your team :( it's always bad times when that happens.

This is a great strategy, but frequently when I roll it, I get a very low score. Base offense/defense just isn't worth it for points - at least in my experience, it takes a ton of deaths and attempts to pull through. Maybe I just need to get better at capping points.

There are two things I wish I could add that would make replays of the campaign even more interesting:

1. More varied skulls. Halo MCC added a TON of new and interesting skulls that really changed Halo 2 replays up a ton, where as Halo 5 played it safe with the skulls. At the least, I would add a skull that removes AI teammates, or one that makes it so no reviving at all (Not the very punishing Iron version already in the game)

2. Once you beat a level, they should let you replay it as any of the 4 characters in that level. The slight stat differences, starting equipment and HUD is more than enough for me to want to play as every character in the stages at least.

Also the lack of mission scoring is saddening, especially when Halo MCC pushed that aspect forward more than ever

Got to vent. Im a father, and I love kids. It happens when you become a parent. I also appreciate the fact that you get less time to game as a parent and sometimes you try to game when your kids are around. When that happens, please turn off your fucking kinect or your mic so I dont need to hear your two sons screaming at the top of their lungs how they are hungry for breakfast while you decide to sit down and play a game of warzone. K? Thanks.

My friend has been bitching constantly about the aiming since the damn game launched. Turns out he never bothered turning on "game mode" with his sony 4k tv, now he goes positive every match and is my best sniper teammate lol. The aiming sensitivity felt a bit off at first, but I'm comfortably sitting at sensitivity 4 and pulling off Mag kills from any distance..

I think more people have this problem that have issues with games, and they don't realize it.

My TV has a game mode and it changes the display area and everything if I don't have it turned on when I'm playing a game.

The mute all button is your best friend!

How do I access this? Does it effect if im playing with my friends?! Or other gaffers?

Not sure if it also mutes friends (I've only played solo), but to access, hit the back button (or what used to be the back button -- maybe it's the menu button? can't remember) to see the scoreboard then hit X. Mutes everyone in the game instantly.

Hold the button with two squares (what the hell is that called anyway lol) whilst in the match and there's a prompt to mute all. If you are in a party chat it won't effect the party but if you're in game chat it will effect even the folks you don't want to mute.

There needs to be an individual mute function.

My workaround is that I just start my own party chat even when I'm playing solo so I never have to worry about muting anyone as I'll never hear them in the first place lol.

I guess I'm just so used to Destiny and the glory that is never being forced to listen to randoms that I just avoid it in Halo at all costs.

I miss the days where everyone used a mic on LIVE. Halo 2 was so much fun with proximity chat - tricked a lot of people with it.

Displays can make a HUGE difference! I was the same way... didn't even know about game mode... then learned years back.... then dropped LCDs... then went to Plasma... now that's died and I can't go back to a TV... BenQ gaming monitors have made such a difference for my FPS games. It's unreal how nice 1ms response times and not much more of input lag is.

For casual big-picture gaming i go into the home theater and hook up one of the consoles on the 144" screen/BenQ1070. (Cant wait to play No Mans Sky on it! omg)

Ugh, Yesterday I decided to play Arena with my friends, 2 of them are Onyx and, Jesus, My K/D when negative...lol won a lot of games, still Platinum in Arena.

Why was proximity voice removed for Halo 3? Would love to see it return.

Halo 3 had it, you could turn it off if you want it.

To hell i hope.

? If you were complaining about Breakout in Team Arena then fine but SWAT is its own playlist. If you don't like it don't play it

I can still express my dislike of it... video game forum...

I'm not saying you can't have an opinion but you made it sound like it should be removed from the game because you don't like it, even though it's a completely optional mode. If that wasn't your intended meaning then no qualms, that's just how it came off.

Add more maps and take away the bullshit forge maps they threw together the night before launch. God damn those maps are trash.

Fix the aim issue, and while we're at it fix the spawns.

Great game but minor annoyances like this really but a damper on it.

Those maps were in the Beta a year ago. Also I thought I would hate them, but they are actually some of my favorite now. The spawns do need some work though.

This makes me sad - like the others I wish more people used voice chat. The social aspects of halo 5 are non existent

I'm still friends and play halo with 'randoms' that I met on Xbox live back in the halo 3 days - there are a couple of people I met because we were all competitive with eachother in the pre game and post game lobby and partied up and ended up playing against eachother a few games in a row. Halo 5 sadly has none of this - frustratingly it also lacks a way to mute just specific people in the pre game lobby which is bizarre

Yep I think reach and halo 4 were forgiving to the point that there was no skill gap - it's nice to finally have a halo game again where there is one.

Is this a joke? If anything the skill gap has decreased with halo 5. Being able to do more, move faster, sprint forever, abilties etc does anything but increase the skill gap lol. Noobs can be pretty deadly in packs with how powerful automatics are now too.

Edit: I do agree with you on the social aspects though. What the hell is up with that, the game feels lonely as fuck without persistent lobbies, chat in FFA, pre game game tags/stats/banter etc

And the guy saying those that are bitching about the game must be doing bad? Nice one. I had a few shitty placement games, worked my way up to onyx with little effort and now win FFA matches frequently. In no way am I struggling with it, but theres shit that annoys me and I doubt I'll get used to it. I don't get that satisfaction from wins like i should, half my fuckin kills are just getting the jump on players already in a gunfight and stealing kills. What do you expect with the added mobility and unlimited sprint and abilities it's fuckin chaos.

Why was proximity voice removed for Halo 3? Would love to see it return.
Proximity voice was removed in H5 and probably for the reason that most players use Xbox Party chat now so it wouldn't be very useful. Plus the inclusion of proximity would just push players to use party chat instead of game chat so they couldn't be overhears by the enemy team.

No one is as bad as Andy. No one.

Yesterday, we played on coliseum, and where the rockets are, he went to pick them up, but they got pushed down on the floor by an explosion.

So a normal person would say, 'rockets on the floor', right?

Andy - Rockets on the fllllll fllllll fllllll lllllloooo flllllllllll fffffff ffff fffff

for a good 10 seconds.

+1

These are great suggestions, I'm also pretty bummed there's no campaign scoring of any kind in there. As someone who plays more Campaign than Multiplayer, it's lame that the campaign seems barebones in terms of bonuses.

With the Aim Assist reduce like never before, a better lateral movement in the players, this game skill gap is higher than Reach and Halo 4 by a mile, good players are destroying right now.

this is actually something I did expect to be in the game before I bought it.
I mean it is such a logical conclusion. you have 4 chars per team...why not give me the possibility before a mission to chose as whom I want to play >.<
