Final Boss - Fan Zhendong - Ping Pong Arts

Urien is a charge character.
Not to mention they're both popular and common characters in tournaments, I'd imagine they'd want both of them out before EVO.

Idk about you but I don't wanna see PR Rog playing anyone but the man himself at EVO.

I don't think they necessarily have to appease certain high-level players specifically, but yeah, this is why I think they get the edge over Urien.

I'd definitely like to see him and Dieminoin play their guys (though if they are not good, they might not anyway).

Ping pong based martial art?
Not bad.

from wikipedia:
He uses a Butterfly Viscaria Blade with Stiga handle, with black DHS Hurricane 3 National Blue Sponge for forehand and red Butterfly Tenergy 05FX for backhand. A right-handed shakehand-grip player, Fan plays an attacking style of table tennis using his explosive footwork and thunderous forehand loops to finish off his opponents.

Joking, but that description is so intense I almost believe.

Wow, she straight up says "Fan". I thought that it would turn out that Fan was just some weird coding thing people were misconstruing as a character, but there you go.

Quoting for new page. Also, she announces all the different ranks such as bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond.

I actually laughed when I saw that LP stood for League Points, but I didn't expect them to copy Riot's ranking system entirely.

Nothing inherently wrong with that, I just hope I don't get placed Bronze 5.

Hoping in 2017 we get two "seasons" of 6 characters each, so 12 in one year.

I hope one of those sessions will be the Final Fight season.

Cody
Guy
Haggar
Poison
Hugo
Sodom (Screw you Rolento)

Very excited about Alex and Urien. Interested in Fan and Guile. Meh about the rest.

I hope "season 2" has more of my favs and characters that haven't been included in awhile as opposed to tons of characters that have been in the spotlight so much already.

Did someone doubleck the audio files. How about if it's a fake? Imagine that 'fan' in the SFV beta files meant just that:

I don't think we'll get too many Final Fight characters this time around sadly. I'd like 6. We're probably getting 4 tops: Cody, Poison, Maki, and Haggar.

Do we have more information about how these challenges will be implemented? Sorry if it was discussed already and I missed it.

I'm interested to see all of them. I like how SFV is changing up some of these classic characters so I can't wait to see what they do to them.

Alex confirmed? BLESSED

Hoping Jazzy NYC '15 is the GOAT of all GOATS

Karin's theme already has that covered

I really hope these don't only count during real online matches, as opposed to being able to grind them out quickly in training or arcade mode or something. It would be really annoying every day dealing with having to do a specific thing or dealing with other people just trying to hit you with one type of attack over and over

I mean, they aren't really complicated or specific stuff. You'd likely get most of them down really quick just by playing matches normally.

On the one hand, it will encourage people to learn more about the mechanics, but on the other, if it overly incentivizes particular actions then it might be a detriment. I have to assume that the points for winning will vastly outweigh the points for achieving these goals in a match. At least that way people will still be trying to win and not just doing sweeps over and over again or whatever.

If they get it right it's a great idea, because everyone will enjoy gaining points for peripheral stuff even if they lose the match.

If people want to do random shit to get some achievement they can be my guest, I'll be taking those ranked points off their hands.

I don't care about my ranking, I just want to get good matchups skill-wsie, and an honest match without someone simply trying to spam random stuff to meet a goal, so right now this is looking like more of a detriment to me.

Capcom probably knows this, so wins will matter more than simply throwing out roundhouses.

Plus, it'd be easier to grind it out offline where no interruptions could be met.

It's like the 3rd Strike stuff on PS3.

If they fucking put out Guile and Balrog before Alex, Urien, Ibuki or Juri...Capcoooooommmm!

Yeah, that would suck, wouldn't it? They'll probably do this though...(with Alex being dead last, just to spite fans like me...)

Also, what was the latest info on Zen/Fan in terms of the data showing a lot of skeletal joint thingies or something, as if he/she might have tentacles?

Could it be the (lame) case that he/she, assuming he/she is the boss, ends up being an even more pissed Necalli clone perhaps (his hair being like tentacles)?

Personally I'm hoping Zen/Fan is a new Kung Fu user, possibly a monk. Weird that we know quite a bit about this game's story via character win quotes but still can't really pinpoint who would make a logical boss within the possible Illuminati vs Shadaloo vs ??? story.
