Looks like I will stop playing H5 sooner than I thought. I can't deal with this horrible delay I'm getting. Every match is me being shot through walls and that's not even the worst offender.
My AR and Pistol are also still shooting nerf gun bullets. I counted the Pistol shots that hit my enemy and it took 9 hits to kill him. Now, people would probably say "git gud", but all my shots have hit him and the 5th and 6th shot actually hit the other player right in the forehead. As an european, I'm pretty frustrated about this. I always had to deal with this in previous Halo games, but not on this level. The amount of delay I'm getting is beyond ridiculous.
Given my experience, I don't believe this "low ping" stuff 343i was throwing arround. If that's the case, then it surely isn't a problem to show ping times in the actual matches, right? I bet my ping to the server is well above 100ms, when I play against US people.
The only thing the video showed was that 343 brought in community cartographers to build BTB maps in Forge. Nobody said those were the only BTB maps, nor that they would count as any of the free maps that 343 has promised.
for me to be anything other than a liability given that I need twice as many shots as my opponent because every server seems to be based in the US.
The game is SO fucking good yet it's actively pushing me away from all the best bits.

I shouldn't be getting killed with an AR from across the map and 343 needs to make the pistols 4 shot kill....I get way too many shield pops and people running away.
Anything on breakout design I will just take a pass, it's too simplistic and doesn't help break the map apart at all.Really enjoying the MP, but damn do I hope the DLC maps take a different, more classic design direction. The maps as they stand now are all too cluttered, and lack that classic flow. They can be fun, but I want more variety.
Also, I hope they ditch that standard fare UNSC aesthetic, or at least deck it out more like Plaza.

When Forge hits, will users be able to build maps with the Breakout pallet? Overall, I've found that visual direction to be really pleasing.. I'd love to see something like The Pit remade with those pieces. Especially if they can be mixed with other environments and Forge piece styles.

Hope they add red and blue paint guns as well. Would be amazing to have people switch teamsI really hope this ends up being similar to Splatoon where every couple weeks we will get a new map/modes.
I like that you can survive engagements and not everything ends in a kill. It is what makes his game way more fun than Halo 2.

you are not alone in this. I really wonder were to european servers are. I just shot literally 8-9 times at an enemy so he died.
It's why I ditched Arena, really. Very disappointing. Luckily I'm still having fun with Warzone, though my idiot teammates have been getting on my nerves today.
Man I thought it was just me. You've described exactly what I'm going through. It takes me an insane amount of BR or Pistol to the head to kill anyone. I've never experienced this before in Halo or any other game. Something definitely feels off. I went from 1.40 k/d ratio in previous Halos to 0.80. Absolutely insane

I almost always get put into US servers full of US players, when I get a UK/European server the game feels totally different. I thought I'd try and get into Breakout and Swat but it's so frustrating when people eat shots and teleport and whatnot.
I love the game apart from this, I just wish every game was on a UK server. Low latency matchmaking indeed

Oh wow, didn't notice these posts on this page before I posted my experiences. Glad it isn't happening to me alone but it's crazy that it's being ignored. I don't understand why they went back on their plan to choose data centers, it works fine in Titanfall even with it's small population.
I was so looking forward to Halo 5 coming from MCC and it's imaginary dedicated servers but playing on US dedicated ones is almost as badit's really souring an otherwise great game.
I haven't touched swat in a couple days because I freaking can't stand playing on Orion five times in a row, and with pistols no less.
Weird. Online performance has been absolutely stellar for me. Even against US players I haven't had one game yet where I had the idea I had a lag disadvantage. It's definitely way better than MCC for me.
I think in my 10+ hours thus far I've had two teleporters, and that's it. Definitely better for me than MCC or previous Halo matchmaking experiences.

I'm having the same issues as IHaveIce. Constant disconnects, but my internet and Xbox connection are fine. Open NAT, about 30 Mbs down, every other online game I play works fine.

I've had that happen a lot, but I've always found that if you shut the game down and then restart it, they show up just fine.

That's hardly a solution. Losing spartan rank, GT and not gaining REQ points, only for 14 days.
They need to revise how the system works on their end. If you win against people of lower rank, you should not advance (much). If you lose against higher ranks, you shouldn't be penalized.
In Trueskill terms, add a coefficient to sigma that scales inversely with the mean of all players' ranks in a game (relative to the player). I'm sure they're already doing this under the hood. They just need to make it effect the rank/tier system.
