"Why are people saying Alpha 2 is related to that?..."


Capcom made a video game based on the license and put some characters from that game in the background of an Alpha 2 stage.
 
Looks like the "Technique Challenges" are pretty basic stuff... for those worried about not being good enough to earn fight money-

ID_SYS_FP_0120 Perform a combo with 4 or more moves at least 3 times.
ID_SYS_FP_0121 Perform a V-Trigger cancel at least twice.
ID_SYS_FP_0122 Cancel from a special move into a CA at least once.
ID_SYS_FP_0123 Perform at least 3 counter hits.
ID_SYS_FP_0124 Knock down an opponent at least 5 times.
ID_SYS_FP_0125 Hit a grounded opponent with a forward jump attack at least 3 times.
ID_SYS_FP_0126 Perform at least 5 reversals.
ID_SYS_FP_0127 Perform a recovery at least 3 times.
ID_SYS_FP_0128 Hit a grounded opponent with a standing normal attack at least 10 times.

I don't think id be wrong in assuming this is similar to what is in the Iron Galaxy arcade ports and KI today.

Since everything is getting cracked early, what makes Capcom think fight money will be safe from cracks if it's just a simple value change?

Because if Capcom aren't total monkeys all of that will be handled server side and untouchable by anyone.

Based on keeping your fight money server side, is there any reason they can't make what you buy/earn available on both systems?

I'm surprised they released the last beta with so much info in it knowing there was a possibility of people hacking and spoiling the surprises, tbh. Perhaps it was partially intentional in as means to test their file security? The game has been in the works for yeeeears though, I would hope they had the foresight to make all Fight Moneys 100% server side.

I'm guessing the reason something like happens so often is because it's very difficult to scour all of the information out when you're building the game, perhaps?
 
I don't care about my ranking, I just want to get good matchups skill-wsie, and an honest match without someone simply trying to spam random stuff to meet a goal, so right now this is looking like more of a detriment to me.
If you want to learn match ups, I have a feeling people that are willing to throw matches to do stupid shit won't be providing that.

This is a huge relief. I thought they would be character-specific. I didn't want to use Cammy just to use Cammy, etc.

One thing I noticed in a match TampaBison had is that he did stomp OTG after a Psycho Inferno. I wonder if Psycho Inferno is untechable now...if so, untechable Psycho Inferno + motion input would be a happy balance on the move. Not as fun as Beta 1 Bison, but at least it would have a use.

I'm pretty sure that will happen too. In the Sim blogpost they mentioned 'leveling' up characters.
Yeah, but that's for the individual character rankings. I expect that. I can just focus on one character.
 
Sigh, no Cody. That's some bullshit. Cody is THE street fighter character in the SF universe.

Yeah, I think agree with you. I don't necessarily need more FF characters, but Cody is both a FF and SF representative and in a way is almost as pure in his SF blood as Ryu and Ken are.

He'd be a cool candidate for a slight redesign as well, I feel. Why not make him a cop/detective of sorts this time, completing his transition from a Street Fighter to Convict to Cop who gets to beat up people. I mean, why not? Would be a nice meta-narrative and it would imo make more sense than keeping him as an escaped prisoner from Alpha to IV all the way to V.

Edit: Scratch that, for some reason I feel like Cody kills Edi E in one of the Final Fight spin off games.

I want to be matched with people at my level who are seriously trying, and that level is not high, so I definitely could see those people screwing around more for these.

And, if thong Urien is a DLC costume, I'm buying that, too.

Heck, I think I'll buy every single piece of SF3 related DLC with real money.
