I watched the PT over the last week, only watching parts of it each day because it's such a chore to watch. They drag on a lot without ever really moving forward. Some of the cgi looks bad too.

Man that kid in episode 1 was annoying. First time I've watched the film in years and I'd forgotten how much he annoyed me.

"Yippee!"

... Honestly, I'd just watch the Podrace and Darth Maul fight. Skip Episode 2 entirely (there was almost nothing redeeming there... Good grief). Then watch Episode 3 and fast-forward through the Padme/Anakin love dialogue.

Yep,pretty much the way to watch it.

I do like the scene in episode two with obi wan vs jango fight though.

I like it simply because Jango bumps his head on the door to his ship.

I'm going to the marathon for those sweet OTs. I've never seen them in theaters.

I really wish they would do a limited run of the movies individually. I'd love to see them in theaters again (the last time I was only like 8 years old, I basically just remember seeing the posters in the lobby after Hope and going "There's more of them? Lets see them all!") but there's just no way I'd marathon them. That's too much. One a day for a nice weekend would be great.

So just got done watching Return of the Jedi. Easily the weakest of the OT even though the Luke/Emperor/Vader story is a highpoint of the series.

Also I maybe wrong but do all Imperial characters who are not stormtroopers have a British accent?

Most of the officers are British, yep. It's nice to have a few more British good guys in TFA, even if Boyega is using an American accent.

Just because you number the first book "4" doesn't mean it still didn't come first.

It's like arguing you shouldn't watch Memento unless you watch that one edit that puts all the pieces in chronological order. That's not how the story really works, though. Star Wars has big fat episode numbers up front, but those were implemented as more or less a gimmicky conceit referencing the inspiration source.

The original three films set the stage, explain the way the world works, and establish key concepts that the following three films build from. The numbers on them don't change that.
I keep telling Star Wars fans this, and they keep saying "But George Lucas said this 1-6 was the intended order for watching!"

Both parts of the Obi-Wan vs Jango fight are great; the asteroid battle has fantastic sound and visual design and the brawl between Obi-Wan and Jango is a welcome diversion from the lightsaber battles.

Almost sure there is an officer shot by Han in A New Hope that had an American accent. It's where Han is in disguise right after they get onboard.

Spoiler Alert: Del Toro is reprising his role as The Collector in Ep. VIII

Double Spoiler Alert: Ep. VIII is actually Avengers: Infinity War

Triple Spoiler Alert: Thanos kills Luke

You gotta get Pixar tied in there somehow. HAHA! Imagine a Frozone, Nick Fury, Mace Windu team-up! Don't forget the Muppets, too! Man, Disney owns a lot of cool stuff, huh?

My BF won BF of the year award and got us a 65" 4KTV for my birthday. I then proceeded to watch this final trailer in 4K on YouTube.

There were no words.

Looks like he's docking since the door is coming down as soon as he walks under it.

No, it was intentional. There's even a "clang" sound in the movie when he hits his head. Apparently, it was just a little easter egg because of the Stormtrooper that bumped his head in the original films.

And I already covered that in an earlier post when I said:

That doesn't change the fact that I don't think watching the PT first enhances anything about the OT. If you want to watch the films in chronological order as a silly exercise to hype yourself up for the new films because you are able to do that, that's fine. It's not gonna make the OT any better in that order though.
I'm with you here. I've seen these movies so many times that I just start with whatever movie I feel like starting with. Usually it's ROTJ and then I just work my around to whatever.

Why is this even a discussion anyway? There's no "better" way of rewatching the films. You just rewatch them. Watch them 2 7 1 2 3 6 2 3 4 if you want. Who cares, no one's gonna judge you and I'm sure you'll get just as much out of it as watching them in whatever other order you come up.

If it's your first time viewing it, just go release order because you're likely to not like the prequels as much (if it at all) so there's no reason to sour the experience before you even get started.

I watched the OT with my son for the first time.

We meant to move on the the PT, but I realized the disc to Episode II wasn't in the case and I couldn't even find ROTS either. We might get around to it before TFA, but honestly I'm not too broken up about it.

Boba's Armor is not Jango's righ?

I remember he had the helmet in TCW. But he starts using a different model later on.

Also, his TCW helmet was based on the original concept for ESB right?

You guys are likely completely right. I never followed anything outside of the films and always assumed Boba's armor Jangos but painted over/modified.

The universe was definitely trying to tell you something there. ;)

The helmet is definitely different; Boba stuffed a bomb in his father's helmet to assassinate Mace Windu in The Clone Wars.

I see a dent up at the top of his helmet, though it does sit higher up than Boba's dent. They probably were just trying to make a parallel.

Oh my god, how do the prequels actually manage to look shittier than the OT.. I really can't get over the horrible costumes, CGI and 1080p.. You can really tell that nobody gave a fuck. It looks like that shit was taken straight out of Rebels.

I'm listening to the latest episode of Rebel Force Radio and they are interviewing Rancho Obi-Wan's Steve Sansweet. It turns out, Rancho Obi-Wan was involved in some capacity with that awesome PlayStation branded Battlefront trailer. Unfortunately, most of their involvement was cut. However, the bit with the kids playing with the flashlights with lightsabers was furnished by Rancho Obi-Wan. The dinged up mini R2-D2 from the beginning of the trailer was from them, too.

It's the same costume but a different color...what are you talking about?

Any of you come across that video "Easter eggs in Star Wars trailer" video and dont want spoilers id avoid it, dude just up and posts direct concept art leaks and claims they are "easter eggs" wherein fact they are just spoilers.

When was the first in-atmosphere X-Wing / Tie Fighter battle?

These things fighting among blue skies is a great visual but I don't remember it happening until... the Clone Wars cartoon?

I want to rewatch them but I don't own them and too cheap to buy them.

Wish they were on Netflix.

With the holiday season approaching, and with the new movie coming out, I'm sure you'll see some deals on the new Blu-Ray set.

I rewatched the trailer in QuickTime (have done this many times already). This time, however, I realized by pressing the left and right keys on my keyboard I could move the trailer ahead frame by frame. One thing I noticed that is a detail that will probably be missed by most. In the previous movies (especially the originals) when ships explode, it hasn't been typically realistic, physics wise. However, in the scene where you can see the dogfighting from the ground (the one where the X-Wing chases a Tie Fighter, nearly skimming the water) in the distance you can see an X-Wing destroying a Tie Fighter. The Tie Fighter doesn't just simply explode into a fireball and disappear. By going frame by frame, you can see the Tie Fighter being realistically broken apart. The solar panels can be seen shredding off of the main body. I think it is awesome that they put that much detail into the effects, effects that most people might miss. I wonder if they put a physics model into the fighters that easily allows for realistic destruction models.

Edit- I just noticed the crumbling structure in the background. Man, the effects are so stellar and we've barely seen anything!
