Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Hey 343, could you lower the weighting of Escape from A.R.C just a tad? This is my game history so far. With the these 10 matches pictured as my last 10 games.

So what is the Req point breakdown for Warzone? What helps you score the most points to continually level up that Req? I have an assault rifle mod that requires 8 Req that I still have not been able to unlock in a match.

Regular Warzone seems cool, but Warzone Assault is a bit bollocks. People literally shooting at you from every angle, especially from behind, for what feels like the entire time lol.

I feel that way about regular warzone. I can't pop my damn head out without three people pegging at me with battle rifles. Warzone assault I can get into and rack up some kills.

Weird, what is your strategy with Assault? Bare in mind, I've never been the team at the base yet.

Good to hear most people are really enjoying Halo 5, but MP is completely broken here in Australia. Can't connect to Arena or Warzone games. On launch day here in Oz I had no issues, then as soon as the rest of the world went online with Halo 5 we suffered for it.

Widespread issue, apparently 343 know about it.

Shit sucks.

I'm in Australia and haven't had any significant issues. A couple of laggy matches but that's to be expected. My #1 issue is that I keep getting matched with players above my rank, but I think that's a completely separate issue.

This does not feel like classic halo made throwing

The arcs feel great. What I dislike is how frags hit the ground, bounce off, and then detonate 12 feet above the floor. I don't remember which Halo started this (definitely wasn't CE), but I don't like it.

I'm really, really bad at this game. It took me four Slayer games to even get a positive K:D ratio. I'm sure this will be shocking to no one that loves Halo for the reasons that make it Halo, but I've never played anything that felt like this. Most of my FPS experience is on PC so it's not really comparable. Of my console experience, it's just different. It's not CoD, it's not Battlefield, and it's not Destiny either. I've already seen two players that were doing crazy well and made me embarrassed to be on their team.

But as someone that hasn't ever played Halo online, I understand this one has some very unique changes from past Halos, but I fucking love it. I just picked up an Xbone so I'm getting a free Blops 3 copy as part of the gamestop promotion, and I honestly have no idea which one I'm going to end up spending more time on.

Good game in Warzone today folks, that train kept on choo chooing, even after a slight derail.

I thought every time you levelled up past level 40 you would get silver packs but besides when I landed on 40 itself, I've been back on Bronzes again :(

Got on and played today and feel like my aim is broken completely. Yesterday I was doing great, now I feel like I have no control over my crosshair. It makes no sense and feels terrible all of a sudden. I'm puzzled as to what has happened here.

Lol even my hydra shots do nothing.
I swear I'm a magnet, and shot nerf darts.

Went from positive to negative 30. That's how bad tonight is going.

Naw, helmet is called vector. Kind of Eva like, but I think I like it more. Visor is called muse and this doesn't show it off properly. It's red/blue depending on angle.

dang that looks dope

i like helmets that don't look like they belong in halo so i'm hoping i'll get the pioneer one soon

My biggest complaint with the campaign is the arena design and encounter design.

It is so incredibly rote and similar. Almost every encounter is coming up on an open area with 2-3 levels that enemies sit on and shoot at you and take cover. It looks like it was designed to be a fps encounter. You clear the area and move through a bottleneck into another arena that looks like a football stadium spread in front of you.

This campaign cannot compare to areas like the approach to silent cartographer, the move downwards into the map room, the gaping canyons of assault on the control room, the gondolas on delta halo, the desolation and civil war while running through high charity, leading a mongoose charge into a dried up lakebed against a scarab, or flying rooftop to rooftop at night rescuing civilians.

I don't dislike this game, I just feel nothing towards it. Even halo 4 had more interesting mission design. It feels like it the campaign was secondary.

The only real spark of clever design was driving around near the end to shoot those orbs that were holding the big ball in the sky. I enjoyed that a bit but it was over before you knew it and it was just too easy on heroic even.

I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. I'm not done.

This was me today...between FFA and Slayer i went like 1 and 8 today. My rank for Slayer went back sown to Plat1. Im surprised my kd was still above 1. Hah..my biggest hurdle is learning how to effectively maneuver during a gun fight. My brother has given me some tips but when im in the think of things, i revert back to my bad habits. Over a decade of Halo and im still trying to get a hang of it lol

Coming from Destiny, the multiplayer feels very very wrong. Like I die too quickly and I'll pump a whole round into someone and they live while I die. Grenade throwing is also ass.
Probably the wobble they feel they must add and all the nades are extra bouncy which can be gotten use to.. before of you wanted to throw a nade off a wall and land on a small platform it was easy. Now you need to throw it for a bigger bounce to land it on a small platform. Like the camp spot on rig. It's not better here but can be done with practice.

You're asking them to remake a nearly 10 year old game.

Even as somebody with a ton of problems with Halo 5, that's insane.

You'd get some diehard Halo fans, and lose tons of people who would ask 'why should I pay $60 for the same fucking game?!'
I wouldn't believe that. As long as the maps were gravy and the new vehicles and additions were a fit. I'm tired of everything needing a copy for.it to sell. Cod wasn't copying gears and halo to be a hit. It wasn't great but just running, good visuals and focus on shooting made it a hit.. I don't want open world games cause gta and creed were hits either.

I don't want tons of simulations cause gt and forza do well.

I really want a place for my halos, motorstorms , and my mario platforms.

As a game community. To see you guys say a hardwire game has to be socially adaptive to another game is saddening. Especially when that game trying to do.that has failed miserably..

When did gamers become so weak to a game being what it should be? Also, there is little proof that a game made to be a game in halo wouldn't sell. Quite the opposite actually

So I just beat the campaign on Heroic. I'm really divided on it. On one hand the rock solid 60fps is awesome and the actual gunplay is probably the best in the entire franchise. Also I loved the different environments you go to. On the other hand I HATE how little Chief is in the game, that's just flat out ridiculous. Also the game felt hella uneven. Like the first half is very slow and the second half is balls to the wall the whole time. The second half I think is vastly superior to the first half. Also that was one hell of a cliffhanger.

I'm excited to see where the story goes but basically have very mixed feelings about Halo 5 overall in terms of campaign.

Breakout is so hit or miss for me. Most times my bullets are rubber, and the Hydra launcher is absolute trash.

Edit: still feels bad to get nearly half the REQ points for an Arena match as a Warzone match.

Shortly after release, I got my CSR in Team Arena. Won most of my games but got put into Platinum (which seemed low--I was top 10% of Onyx in Reach and haven't gotten that much worse). Just played ten matches of SWAT, lost almost half of them, and got put into Onyx.

Strange.

Don't fret. It really is different to a lot of other shooters. There are definitely some Halo'isms you'll need to familiarise yourself with, such as using melee to sometimes finish people off as you draw close to each other, using grenades to soften people up before you mow them down, learning power weapon spots, using hip fire more than you're used to, sticking with others for extra back up, using your jump, boost and other mobility options often, switching to your pistol for any long range shooting etc.

I would argue that a lot of its core multiplayer gameplay benefits more from knowledge than actual pure skill. If you learn the maps, weapon and grenade locations, general flow of spawns etc, you'll fare better than you would just having good aim. Also, a lot of your kills and deaths will be from people who you either spawned behind or close to, or people who spawned right behind or beside you, so bare that in mind, and always be on your guard. Pay attention to your radar too in case you happen to see any red dots on it.

You'll have to stop assuming all halo fans all want what you want... I've already played a ton of Halo2-3. And if I want more I can play them at anytime. As such, simply remaking them with a modern coat of paint wouldn't suffice.

I like the way H5 feels AS MUCH as I liked H2 at the time. To me, it feels like Halo for the modern era.

Actually, IMO the H5 modifications to the formula are no more drastic than the modifications H2 made to the formula.

Edit: to be more clear, Sprint and Clamber don't break the Halo formula anymore than the removal of fall damage and health packs did in H2. yes, all of these changes effected the way maps are designed. Yes, all of these changes effected the way players move about the map, but at its core the gameplay loops are still similar.

Breakout is pretty short unless the teams are going back to back with round wins. Each match is like 6 mins I would say play for an hour you can get 6000-7500 Req points

Yep, it feels exactly like what Halo should be in the modern era, at its core it is still Halo.

Like I said. Let them try it and let the numbers speak for themselves. It has been a long while since we got that style of game. We liked it for reasons. I don't need halo 5 that much when cod, titanfall 2,destiny will be doing the same things. Just find one that does a little more i like. I hadn't been playing destiny but I think I should try it to see how the map design is. It was just ok in the beta but the shooting and movement did for better than halo 5. I'm still a bit weary on destiny though.

We were running 4-6 min Warzone Assault matches and getting 1100-1300 points though...

Edit: silver 1 for Breakout. Legit trash tier.

Just as I started the day with frustration from sucking in Arena, I end on a high note with a big win string. God I love the competitive MP in this game. Shame about the maps not named Coliseum or Fathom, though. Can we get Truth and Empire in Slayer? I feel like I am playing the same maps over and over again.

This modern era thing is just ridiculous. As if future like settings makes things modern now.. It isn't like these games were the first to have jet packs and sprinting anyways..

What makes sprinting and thrusters modern? Man this is just ludicrous to me. Do you guys realize what your saying. Modern is such a bad word for this, popular or overly used? Sure, but what makes it.modern? Does that really make sense?

Resolution, special effects, pk this is modern. Controls and controllers. Tvs and many things. But basic gameplay? So now gears of war also needs what to be modern?

Id also love for call of duty to go back to larger maps, vehicles, slower pace and feel like a war field myself. But in this modern era... Guess we can have such a thing.

I swear playing coliseum and fathom and doing poorly makes me want to fastball my controller into the television.

Fathom is the most halo like map in.size and spawns and u love it. Last game there went on a 17 kill spree and didn't die r for 6 and a half minutes. Decent map for halo play. If you notice, clamber is also quips nonexistent.

Sorry for autocorrrect..
