So if people are playing on PC does that mean I'd actually be able to play it if I got a physical pc copy early, even though it's a steam copy? I thought it wouldn't work until the game is on the servers and activated?

I am constantly blown away by the threads about this game. I cannot remember the last game with so many polarized opinions.

The game is looking great to me, I can tell I will have a blast playing it. I feel a little to sad for people who feel personally upset that this game isn't what they wanted.
Though I can understand the apprehension to the new conversation system, that's a mechanic simplification that can actually steal some of the fun of the game. It's mainly the Visuals that people are ragging on. Considering that not everybody had a high end PC version of the previous title, I personally still see this game as a great visual upgrade from the console version of Fallout 3, and I feel Bethesda RPGs are kind of a unique Beast mechanically.

People probably working mad hours on this game for the last couple years, I appreciate their effort. I'm looking forward to picking up this game.

Dude probably has a Russian copy. Things work differently in Russia.

The main thing that impresses me so far out of Fallout 4 beyond the previous Fallout games is how great the gunplay looks and feels for every single weapon.

That's seriously impressive that the gameplay has been massively improved like that.

Seriously though, I dunno how they're working it. I imagine that PC review codes would be workable right now, so maybe if you got a review copy?

I am really looking forward to the game no question about it. The equipment customization, the layered armor and the village building seem like a godsend from a role playing perspective. However a huge gripe that's been bugging me since E3 and all my friends think I'm crazy and I know this has been talked about to death, but I gotta get it out there.

I can not stand the voice acting on the main character.

It's not that the actor is doing a bad job at all. I think he does a fantastic job as a default voice. Just from a role playing standpoint it absolutely kills any immersion or depth to any character I make because now I have to "fit" a character I make with the voice that the actor has. It seems like a silly complaint but every so often I like to make a run through a fallout game as a wacky character that would in no way fit this guy's voice or delivery of speech. For example, a few months ago I thought it would be funny if I created Steve Urkel from Family Matters and play through the whole game with 10 Int 1 Per 1 Str 7 Chr and the like and I would imagine Urkel's voice and think about that characters moralistic dilemma concerning difficult life altering choices. It was really fun and that part of the role playing means a lot to me in these games. Unfortunately, it seems I can't have those fun times anymore until someone makes a "No MC Voice" mod on Nexus or something similar.

And what comes with the voice acting also comes the dialogue wheel which is another step backward not from a roleplay aspect but a design aspect. Fallout always had an image it could honestly call it's own and with the addition of a dialogue wheel now I'll forever associate it with Bioware games dialogue choices and that, in my opinion, never something anyone, let alone a big company like Bethesda, should do. It's one thing to draw inspiration from a created work but it is the same exact design with the same exact use. Up is more info. Right is an angry response. Left is nice. Down is sarcastic. I'm not saying that the old dialogue choice box was theirs from the start but it's one of the many staples of the series that they threw away and I feel like they could have implemented it in some way shape or form without resorting to use Bioware's design outright.

Sorry for stemming off topic but I really needed to get that off my chest. Like I said before every other aspect of the game looks great including most of the new stuff. Hoping I can find something new in this entry to fill a few empty voids.
To me it actually adds immersion - I hate games where the character doesn't talk. Characters talk to you and you're just mute pressing some text on screen. Actually hearing your character talk back is so much better for me - and increases immersion by making it more believable.

Preordered it yesterday for PS4 (as there are no other options for me).

No real interest in the setting. In addition I played F3 on my PS3 for half an hour and it was a garbage performance experience. Bought Skyrim on PS3 and while fun, 50hrs in everything was fucked.

And yet... I'm kinda excited. As long as my load/save files won't be fucked over like last gen on Sony's console, I will be fine. If they DO fuck it up again, I'm done.

You have no real interest in the setting, didn't get on with the last game too well, but you pre-ordered anyway? What is wrong with this pre-order culture!? I'm HYPED for this game but refuse to hand out money in advance, especially for a game with review dates that are embargoed until release day.

Got the PS4 version of the game.

What does everyone want to see?

So far I have (including suggestions from GAF users):

  • Character creation
  • Conversation with branching dialogue
  • Any glitches/funny parts, etc.
  • Loading times (difference in loading interior, exterior and just overall)
  • Crafting and settlement
  • Easter eggs
  • Cameos
  • Glitches
  • Spec Build
  • Different variables
  • Value perks

The game is only a 28 GB download on Xbox One? Yeah, I won't be preordering. If the reviews are great, I'll download it then.

Seeing the higher difficulty modes would be cool.

Can you get some high-res screenshots/video? Most of what's leaked has been potato quality.

Is there any noticable input delay on the sticks? After playing so much 60fps games i cant stand even the slightest input lag.

Why on earth would you buy a game if you aren't interested in the setting and didn't enjoy the previous game?

What is the framerate like on PS4? Is it stable or are there a lot of drops? Pretty much anything else I can handle but if it can't manage 30fps then forget it.

To be honest, at this point I would not spend my money on the game. Everything that FO legacy stood on is basically non-existent here apart from the color palette and some artstyle. All the leaks show that the writing is still bad and that's the thing that I value the most, even more than gameplay. Then comes the eye-candy, which is predictably missing. The gameplay looks like it hasn't changed much from FO3, with some tweaks. It's still not Deus Ex in terms of player's freedom to tackle objectives. The only freedom so far comes from the usual fact that you can put buckets on people's heads and hoard stuff.

So what's ultimately there for me? Probably nothing but a timesink, a collectiblefest, that plays on my completionist nature. This and the nostalgia, the dream of how things could have turned out. Will get it from my friend, because there is no other AAA RPG release until the second Witcher expansion.

I gambled fifty bucks not my soul, I will be fine. ;-) With my expectations so low, Fallout 4 must be really atriocious to disappoint me in a serious way. And I love being able to play from the start and be part of the discussion, that's half the fun. *shrug* Even if I don't particularly like it in the end, I have hard time seeing how it would be a total waste of time on money.

Well If you don't mind I really wanna know how the loading screen looks is it like Skyrim's?

Still haven't found confirmation either way whether bobbleheads still give +1 to their attributes (so +1 to STR from the Strength Bobblehead for example) - if you come across any, please make note what you get from them when you pick them up.

Edit: Nevermind about that, found this pic that tells you what you get.

Think he means when you holster your weapon it doesn't show up on your character visually. Idk if it's true or not btw.

That'd be annoying, and it'd make this official render the worst kind of bullshot:

Has there been a verdict for multi console owners on which version to get?

I'd prefer buying on Ps4 but I'm afraid performance/visuals will be favored on the Xbox One, due to Bethesda's history with Xbox.

If they to something like that, they can fuck themselves really fucking hard.

I don't think they will, but the df article will show.

I NEED to know if there is an internal language selector, not changing the language from the system, no, if the game specifically has an option to do this.

No, of course not yet. Theoretically both versions look/run the same (resolution, fps, IQ etc.) but I'd get the PS4 version in your situation. Most reviewers received the PS4 copy and this is a nice indicator which version might run or look better in general. Also most third party games seems to run/look better on PS4 this generation and I doubt this one will be an exception (was vice versa last generation, especially for bethesda games).

People should really stop with this conclusion.

The PS3 was every developers nightmare with its alien architecture and technology.

The PS4 is a straight forward piece of technology that was designed by sane people and is simply more powerful than its direct competitor.

Conclusion: FA4 will at least be on par, but most likely run a little better on the PS4.

I mean there's little architectural difference between the PS4 and the XBone. It's not like last gen when Sony went full retard with the Cell.

The ports should more or less be close to the same code. Each company will run their respective skins on top and they'll tweak the settings on each because slightly different hardware.

I think this is bullshit even on fallout 3 they show even your weapons in elder scrolls show, I won't believe that until I see it. (not that I care much about it though)
