Fallout 4 has gone gold; leaked gameplay vids

Most small buildings have no loading screens at all. Larger buildings and dungeon type locations have Skyrim-esque loading screens. Loading seems to be faster than Skyrim though (on console).

It's identical to Skyrim. Tree branches sway and shake very realistically, as do grasses, but there's only ever a light breeze. The Witcher 3 nailed dynamic wind, but went overboard by making trees sway ridiculously, presumably to make sure players noticed the tech? One day we'll get a game with realistic gentle breeze (like Skyrim/Fallout 4) and dynamic wind strength like The Witcher 3, but that day is not today (nor is it November 10th).

Agreed man. It looks great in Witcher 3, but it's also unrealistic, cause it seems there is always some crazy wind going on, which makes no sense. Honestly i can't recall any of that in Skyrim anymore, never paid attention to it i guess.

Finally was able to put in my order for a 850 Evo SSD, the one i have now is not that great and only 120gb. Hoping for that preload information by the time it comes in.

Does anyone know how to preload a game to an external hard drive and then transfer it over though? I can't download the game on my internet at home and will have to use my university's internet.

Yeah, it's all about having that data in specific folder within Steams folder structure.

I don't want to look at the leaked videos but what is the music like? Ambient music tracks and the pip-boy radio? Are they great? I absolutely adore Skyrim and Fallout 3's soundtrack and I'm really hoping F4 delivers on that front!

Put the downloaded Fallout 4 folder in your Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common folder. Then install Fallout 4 in your C drive from Steam (assuming that's where you installed Steam) and then it will recognize the files are already in the folder and you'll be able to play it.

same thing as installing from an external? I just put it in the preload folder and it'll see the files and i'm good?

Nice! Did you order from amazon? They're shipping the pip boy edition and the strategy guide on the 6th i think.

Nah. I ordered from Austria (I'm in Germany though) and they also said they ship on the 6th...

I believe Inon Zur is composing the score so it is most definitely going to be good, and like Fallout 3 all things considered. And more licensed tracks than 3, so expect to be pleased there I'd say.

I presume you ordered from gamesonly.at? When are you expecting to receive the game?

The other one. (Yellow/Blue) Well I don't think they will dispatch it today but tomorrow seems to be a good guess. It should arrive on Friday then. (Saturday the latest)

One of the biggest benefits of going all digital is knowing exactly when you will start playing and not nervously checking Spielegrotte every 2 mins to see if something happened.

Same for me (pipboy edition).

I've never preordered from Best Buy before, does anyone know if they usually get things shipped on time?

Should be fine.

I've had my shipment delayed due to UPS sucking ass, not Best Buy. Best Buy gets it out on time. Whether UPS or USPS, whichever ends up delivering the game, gets it to you on time is a completely different issue.

I had never preordered from them until Yoshi's Wooly World and it got to my house at 3pm on release day. I was very surprised, I didn't know BB did release date shipping like that.

Saw this on Reddit, i always like this stuff, oh and LOL at folks that actually said it barely looked better than 3.

Post on reddit said the ending is on instagram so i'd recommend staying away from /v/, /vg/ or /new/ of /r/fo4 or /r/fallout.

Just got a notification from Game UK about a delivery today. I thought "there's no way they'd have fucked up and sent me my copy almost a week early, wtf?"

Turned out it was the bobble head I'd ordered........disappointed

Wait, you have to order the bobble head separately? I thought it was free for preordering?

No worries about r/fallout, since the mods decided for the entire sub that no spoilers/leaks would be allowed at all.

They didn't decide to not allow spoilers. Just not leaks. They only were going to make sure people posted it was a spoiler before they allowed it to show. Which I was happy about honestly. They reversed it so you only get punished after you post a spoiler and don't mark it properly (which means it can happen and some one can maliciously post a spoiler). It's too bad but they probably realized they don't have enough mods to do that properly.

Got the PS4 version of the game.

What does everyone want to see?

So far I have (including suggestions from GAF users):

  • Character creation
  • Conversation with branching dialogue
  • Any glitches/funny parts, etc.
  • Loading times (difference in loading interior, exterior and just overall)
  • Crafting and settlement
  • Easter eggs
  • Cameos
  • Glitches
  • Spec Build
  • Different variables
  • Value perks

What's the ratio of open buildings to closed ones in the first town? How many buildings there have loading screens?

I just had to miss my delivery today.

I have the Pip-boy Edition pre-ordered and with GAME UK it comes with a Bobblehead and I have missed that delivery :( Got to pick it up tomorrow instead.

When saying there are spoilers, can people be a bit more precise in what's getting spoiled? There's a difference between "this shows early gameplay bits that have also been partially shown in official videos" and "this spoils the very end of the game".

I ordered there too and expect it earliest Friday (if we are lucky) latest Saturday. Thursday is not really realistic. Definately ready for the weekend =)

Ending spoilers, for me, mean big twists or the reveal. Not taking any risks.

Someone is probably going around saying the big (if there is) reveal at the end of Fallout 4. Pretty shitty people out there.

I have been on blackout essentially untill the last few days and even then- its the odd screen shot etc.

is there any build calculators yet? or ideal preset builds? I never got that far in 3 and my OCD has me staring at character creation sliders for hours on hours. I just want the most logical way to distribute starting points

thanks !

I never finished the main story line of a Bethesda game just simply because it is boring and I don't care enough.

Side stuff is way more interesting. Hope this changes for once with Fallout 4.

You have 1 in every SPECIAL and can distribute 21 points to your liking.

if you want to click around your stats: http://vault111.com/character/
It's often down, so you gotta try a few times.

If you want an example build, look for my detailed build a few pages back.

But seriously I'd be fine if this was true, so many girls/women I know still think of gaming as something just for kids despite the fact they play lots of mobile stuff they don't even associate with gaming.

Really hoping to figure out which bubbleheads are right by the game beginning so I can save points for other perks. I know there's one near the intro.
