Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

People Quit as much as they do now, if a player was doing bad in his KD, he was going to quit, maybe you didn't noticed people baiting you, but it was very bad in the second season of Arena.

Like I said the problem of using KDA as part of the factor for your rank is that you will have people from your team competing against you, even if you could end up with a W, you unconsciously will try to get more kills than your teammates, and more often than not, that same competition, will end up with players that had the Kill, just to be stolen by one of your teammate that is basically competing against you.

When Im with my teammates playing Halo Im Usually finish with this numbers similar to this : 9-6-7, You say "you didnt do much", but there is a meta game going on in Halo that goes beyond your KDA, from picking up and hogging a power weapon to calling out the position of a enemy spartan, to spawn canceling, etc, this subtle things that cant be quantified, are as Important as getting a Kill.

Good points. I still can't help feeling more satisfied with older ranking systems. I almost think the competition to get more kills (even if it was stealing the final shot) was a good thing, but maybe you're right. If they can just make quitting punishments more severe I think i'll be a lot happier with it.

Worth every dollah. Seriously. I'm going to put "jump" on a paddle for every video game I play until the end of time. It just.... Makes so much sense.

It's so damn good. I found the perfect control scheme for myself: left paddle = thrust, right paddle = jump, left trigger = ads, right trigger = shoot (duh), LB = grenade, RB = duck, x = reload, y = switch weapons right stick = melee.

Best controller ever made.

We (the charred, smoking ruins of Team Schooly D) are looking to get a weekly game night going. Current plan is to host Warzone Wednesdays to run Warzone with a full party every--you guessed it--Wednesday night. The TSD Programming Krewe has some cool stuff in the pipe using the Halo 5 public API that will eventually be tied in to the events, but that'll come later.

Anyone down to play at 8:30 PM Pacific? If so, reply or message me with your gamertag and let's do something great.

Despite being in the UK, this time fits me perfectly. I'm down.

This is my personal opinion, but I think this has to do more with the type of player that is playing, players of today, new comers have less tolerance to endure a match where they feel they are not getting the results they want, not to mention people care more about KDA now than before, Halo 3 didn't show that in the game, so people played more engaged and sometime even more goofier, now that your KDA is public to see, people tend to protect this number.

The problem with long banhamers is the fact that the more time you have someone baned, the more are the chances of loosing this player to another video game option.

This crashing in between rounds of Breakout bug needs to be fixed ASAP, nothing more infuriating than working so hard to rank up then going down because of the game crashing.

Just happened to me and a friend at the same time, not only fucking the two of us over but also fucking over our two friends who were still in the match. Ugh.

Left paddle = thrust
Right paddle = jump
LB = grenade
RB = melee
LT = ads
RT = trigger
LTS = sprint
RTS = crouch
X = reload
Y = swap

B and A don't get used at all anymore.

And yeah. Definitely the best controller ever made. Microsoft nailed it.

Is it just me or hasn't there been any blood when shooting the enemies, up until now? I am now in mission 10 and I am in this Ghost and shooting the grunts I see the blue blood appearing on the ground. That... surprised me.

Swap the RTS with RB and I think we're identical. Good show, chap. I may try your config; I really like the right stick as melee, but not ground pound. With that said, I don't necessarily like holding the trigger to fire then switching to RB for a quick melee; it feels like there's a split second gap there where you aren't shooting or meleeing.

Well, it's been a week. Diamond in slayer, breakout and team arena. My opinion hasn't changed, I don't particularly like the multiplayer.

That's all really. It's a weird game. Maybe I'm still not used to it, but I can shoot straight so that's something.

Hows everyone else feeling?

my playtime is spotty so I play warzone between doing things, but for the time I have spent in arena I like it but there needs to be more map choice, even if the same map is used twice but with a different power weapon... more is better.

Yeah I can't do ground pound on RTS. Just doesn't feel right at all.

I also use the longer thumbstick for RTS and the smaller concave one for LTS.

And my paddles are setup as such:

Once I stopped feeling it was necessary to ADS all the time (especially with the pistol) I started doing a shitload better. So if you are doing that a lot, I would recommend holding back and see how that works out.

Do you think the longer thumbstick gives you better accuracy? I gave it a quick try but it felt weird.

We're very similar, but I use four paddles:

Top left = sprint
Top right = boost
Bottom left = jump
Bottom right = crouch

... this allows me to always have my thumbs on my right stick to aim; and also means I never accidentally click the sticks, either.

Up until now, I've been playing Warzone thinking it was a good idea, but executed poorly.

Tried out some Warzone Assault. That's a goddamn terrible idea executed poorly.

Seeing that vote is making me think we will never see a dedicated objective playlist. God damn not even CTF can stand in the way of shotty snipers.

I have large hands so it's far more comfortable for me to have a longer thumbstick on the right with how I hold the controller. The left thumbstick I keep shorter so I can hit the dpad quickly. I've always held controllers unevenly (probably because Xbox has the best thumbstick layout) and it's really spooky how awesomely the elite controller can be customized to accommodate that.

I tried using 4 paddles at first but my brain imploded and I couldn't do it lol. So I went with 2 and it feels far more natural for me. I shall try 4 again at some point, or maybe just 3... I really like having jump all by itself and resting two fingers on that paddle.

I honestly don't understand how people can be happy with team slayer only all day. O,..o I mean I like slayer like the next guy but CTF is awesome and fun >.<

Went from 64% win to 59% win after loss after loss mostly due to shit server putting me with god knows magic space warlocks or something.

I need to find a team.

I need to learn to relax and accept the game is against me lol. Try to keep blood pressure down.

Behind a wall? Dead.
Behind a team mate? Dead.

Don't want to know how many rage posts I have now.

What are RP rewards cards?

I understand the XP ones, but does that mean you will get more Req Points at the end of the match if you use said card?

Edit: Ooohh, it's so much nicer to follow the commendations through Waypoint on the website instead of in-game. Nice!

The aiming is getting to me a little bit. I seem to have to keep changing sensitivity because sometimes it feels too fast and others too slow. There's something definitely not right with it.

I've used the blue or purple req points card a few days back and it gave me something like a 4,000 random bonus on top of my normal earned, it was nice and well worth using.

RP cards are rare as fuk tho.

Frankie, seriously what is up with the "retrieving.................error" after each match? I had it all last night and my team did too - having it again today. It's VERY unsatisfying to not see your rewards and experience after a match. This needs fixed now.

Nice, awesome. Yeah, I've only gotten two so far.

I'm a little close to finishing 5/5 on some Commendations. Does that give more than the usual Commendation rewards, maybe a gold pack?

Only prob with that is Halo 5's bumper jumper config for the rest of the buttons is horrible. The Elite (or NXBOE on the 12th) will allow you to move them all around. But i agree... bumper jumper = GOAT.
What's horrible about it? Same config since halo 3 for the most part, perfect for my tastes.
