Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I dont think that clip was a good showcase of camo...

more like a good showcase of how the grenades are FAR too plentiful and powerful lol... what did you like chuck 6 grenades in the span of 30 seconds ;P

Edit: Yes... yes you did... 6 grenades lol (no hate here on your playstyle... id've done the same exact thing - just a commentary on how there are too damn many grenades and that they're too powerful on Arena maps.)

It really depends. On Fathom I almost always have grenades. Plaza they are less available the routes I travel.

As a side note, DMR and other regular weapon spawns seem quite fast on Coliseum. I'm almost never without one.

So...

White - Common
Green - Uncommon
Blue - Rare
Purple - Legendary/Ultra Rare
Yellow - Ultra Rare/Legendary/Exotic

It's not by accident that so many games use these colors, right?

I think Borderlands, DIablo 3, and Destiny all use the exact same setup? Is there some psychological thing at work here?

Just was winning 4 games to 1 on Breakout and about to win the 5th and got Connection Lost out of nowhere. No credit. I was doing awesome too, best Breakout game ever. WTF. Also lost my REQ card.

What's horrible about it? Same config since halo 3 for the most part, perfect for my tastes.

True... i just need right trigger for smart link and right stick melee with x reload b crouch.... for my personal preferences. Its so much easier to scope in with ranged weapons like the DMR and sniper and pull off precision shots using left trigger vs right click... i make fewer right stick slips when i dont need to click it as i aim.

Some games flip it around and it's confusing, but that said its a 'norm' and, well, purple/Orange is just a more powerful color

I can't get behind this. I will never, ever zoom in halo with the left trigger. Halo weapon zoom is on the right stick, end of story. It seems most people are accustomed to the "modern shooter" controls now, with zoom on left trigger, sprint on left stick and melee on right stick. It just feels completely wrong for me. Games with actual ADS on guns it's fine, ADS is perfect on left trigger. Not halo though.

Edit: Also, crouch on anything other than a stick/shoulder button/ paddle is crazy to me. This is halo, how are you crouch jumping!? Unless you are a dirty toggle croucher *shudders* lol

The best thing that you get in Halo that so precious few FPS games give:

The ability to "turn around" an encounter that you begin at a disadvantage through pure skill. I understand why other games don't do it, too -- having high TTK can make some games feel like an unsatisfying slog. I get it.

But damn, do they nail it with Halo, and Halo 5 captured that in spades. And the boosting only makes that interplay all the more satisfying.

The aiming is getting to me a little bit. I seem to have to keep changing sensitivity because sometimes it feels too fast and others too slow. There's something definitely not right with it.

I got the game yesterday and spent my first three matches trying to find a good sensitivity. 5 and lower has a ridiculous dead zone and anything above 7 is too twitchy. 7 has been good but I've had to learn to be more gentle with the sticks which can be hard in the heat of the moment.

Yeah, this is one of the biggest things that separates Halo from other FPS games I play. It goes a long way in making arena feel competitive and balanced. I don't really feel like i'm being killed with cheap weapons or abilities I can't counter, and getting a reversal is always satisfying (I love that the game recognizes that).

Lol i am always have been since CE... i know i know! haha can't help it... and the left trigger aim really does help me aim better b/c i dont slip as i press in R3 click as i used to one out of 10 times.

Agreed, however it seems far less than in Halo 3. I think it's the hitscan that does it, but across the map you can get shot in the back and before you can turn around you're dead. In H3 if you were shot across map you could easily get behind cover or outmaneuver to not die. In H5 if you're shot first you almost always die. especially if they're behind you.

HCS Prize Pool goes from $1m to $1.5m following $500k raised in REQ pack sales in the first week. Wow.

Yeah, it really is too bad other games don't strive for this. The creators of halo, for instance. If only destiny PVP were more competitively balanced *hammer clang*

Yeah, using the sticks for ADS like before seems like a bad idea in Halo 5. Won't even try. To each their own though.

Is anyone having a hard time connecting to a friend's multiplayer?

Just says Connecting to lobby and then fails, everytime. "There was an issue with the servers" error

We were playing just fine yesterday.

Warzone Assault is so horribly unbalanced for the attacking side on this map. This video just further cements that. Whilst you have an entire platform to manoeuvre around, they have small staircases and hallways, or small surface area hard to manage bits of rock and tree's.
That was normal warzone, but yeah I don't play WA because of balancing issues between attacking and defending.

Since when is a melee with the flag not a one hit kill?

Well, is possible this came as a pro recommendation (MLG CTF Flag carrier needed two melees for Kill in both Halo 3 and Halo reach MLG playlist), You have a gun too, so more or less you are on even grounds with your opponent.

Last night I came to the realization last night that I hate 4v4. I perform awfully for some reason. Both in kill/death and win/lose. I'm really missing big team battle. I guess I'll have to stick with Warzone until they bring back big team battle.

I agree. I miss the big team battle with the larger maps and vehicles. That was a blast. Makes no sense at all why they would not include it. For whatever reason 343 made the MP completely barebones.

I agree with having pro players tweak gunplay and movement but there is a whole world of previous Halo default gameplay entirely missing, it started with Halo 4 and it's gone full tilt with Halo 5. It's very cut and dry, Arena = pro play and maps with Warzone = large scale stuff.

I'm digging it but I have to be honest and say I really really miss 1 sided maps/objectives and also the old school default stuff of older games e.g. larger radar, bomb games, 4v4 with vehicles on mid sized maps that had stealth elements to them etc.

Haha they were camping in that area most of the match, the first 4 grenades were to flush them out so I could flank them. The last two were purely out out of reflex as I did not expect to miss that meele from behind lol

There are 3 different ways to get on that platform without taking the ramp.
