Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Low latency matchmaking at work! Need more West European servers, doesn't matter how fun the game is with this kind of server matching. I had 1 kill the whole game (I am pretty bad tbf but there were some lag shenanigans in that game)

That "low ping"* matchmaking

Watch the grenades. That is what they said we would be getting

Wonder when people will realize you can jump to the center platform that AI spawn on outside Fortress on Summit from either side without having to go to the center where everyone chills when they have fortress controlled.

Snipers getting crept on :)

why is the aiming so bad in this game? It feels like there is massive input lag...

Maybe its just me not feeling accustomated to console shooters

That was point blank and the shot hit the wall where he was standing. Brehs.

I ain't on your skill levels, but that was no miss lol

I mean if you want to argue that there was input lag then sure maybe...but that shot went right where you aimed it to go.

You know people have become conditioned when they're complaining that Shotty/Snipers is ranked and should be social. Are people that fearful of being ranked? I mean their reason becomes 'I don't care about rank, I just want to have fun and screw around', which is true. But then why even care what the shiny medal says next to your name? The ranks are there for those that enjoy it. If you don't care about ranks, just want to have fun, ignore what you get for screwing around.

Alright guys I am almost, ALMOST ready to start Halo 5. Can a kind Neogaffer review what I have played/watched and let me know if I'm missing out on anything that could enrich my Halo 5 experience?

1) Played Halo 1 and watched all terminals
2) Played Halo 2 and watched all terminals and special Anniversary Locke prologue
3) Played Halo 3 and read all terminals
4) Played ODST and listened to all audio logs
5) Played Reach (didn't see any collectibles)
6) Played Halo 4 and watched all terminals
7) Did not play Spartan Ops but watched all the cutscenes with Halsey, Laskey, Palmer, Fireteam Majestic, Jul'mdama, etc...

and it's all still really fresh in my mind.

I haven't watched the the Forward Unto Dawn movie (it's on Netflix), nor the Nightfall show (I own it thanks to MCC), nor did I listen to the Hunt The Truth podcasts. Have I waited long enough and am I good to go or should I take the time to consume other "easily-accessible" media?

What I find weird is in the 130+ hours that I have invested in Halo over the past three weeks, I don't think I've ever heard mention of Blue Team...

It's just a stupid fucking mode.

It's existence isn't upsetting so much as the fact that people are voting it over legitimate, fun modes like CTF or even Strangleholds.

But the masses are composed primarily of morons, so nobody should be surprised.

You can very clearly see the cone of the shot and how it missed the body, with no lag.

Go for it and listen to hunt the truth whenever you want.

I'm not speaking about Shotty/Snipers so much as the fact people are complaining it's being ranked for the weekend. I think it's because people want a Team Snipers and not so much an Objective mode. Objective has always had it tough gaining wide popular support.

I can't get behind this. I will never, ever zoom in halo with the left trigger. Halo weapon zoom is on the right stick, end of story. It seems most people are accustomed to the "modern shooter" controls now, with zoom on left trigger, sprint on left stick and melee on right stick. It just feels completely wrong for me. Games with actual ADS on guns it's fine, ADS is perfect on left trigger. Not halo though.

Edit: Also, crouch on anything other than a stick/shoulder button/ paddle is crazy to me. This is halo, how are you crouch jumping!? Unless you are a dirty toggle croucher *shudders* lol
Agreed, LT to zoom in Halo just feels wrong. I'm still using Bumper Jumper in Halo 5 (I've been using it since Halo 3) and the only thing that is not exactly ideal is having thrust on the X button, everything else is perfect.

And now that you mention crouch jumping, I'd like to say I'm really glad Clamber has not made it completely irrelevant, which was my biggest fear with it. Having ledges that can only be reached doing a crouch jump + Clamber is nice. The importance of normal crouch jumps has definitely been diminished (as now it's only for saving those Clamber animation frames, or to make jumps without having to look towards the ledge) but still, I think 343 has made a really good job overall.

huh? The stick you click once for single zoom, twice for double.

What? I'm on default controls, left trigger is my ADS/single zoom. You know what, let me get home and I'll confirm.

Neither FUD nor Nightfall are a must. Forward Unto Dawn is a great movie by its own, but has no really additional value except maybe knowing the origins of Lasky and Sully.

Nightfall sucks don't even.

Hunt The Truth isn't required.

You are ready.

Blue Team has only approved in some of the original and one of the newest novels and in the Escalation line of comics.

Nightfall isn't an award winner but it's not as bad as some might say. It's basically an intro to Locke but they changed voice actors so the in-game Locke just looks like the guy.

Hunt the Truth adds context to what's happening in the universe but it isn't necessary for Halo 5. It is really good though.

Any mode that actively encourages camping by virtue of weapon selection is fucking terrible on principle.

I'd rather play fiesta mode than shotty/snipers

I voted for it because it has yet to be in Halo 5 unlike the other two options and its only for a weekend. Yes, I know that arena is a hopper playlist but I guess I'm just that moronic.

Why can I have my head shot off while I can't even see around the wall. How much wider is my head than fov? I feel like I'm in cover, but nope.

Weird how there's so many people who think that shotty snipers is a legitimate and fun mode. Huh. That's so odd that your opinion, which is innocent and pure, is getting overcome by all of the people who disagree.

And full disclosure...I voted for CTF. But I like shotty snipers as well so it's cool either way

Just wondering, because I'm not sure myself now, but are multiplayer matches supposed to start off with both teams staring each other down? I'm sure I saw it a few times near launch but now it's just your own team looking at the camera before you spawn.

Was this a thing or am I making it up?

Bumper jumper scuf is just too op. cant count how many times ive made someone dizzy in an encounter xD not having to take my thumbs off the sticks to do any thing in halo 5 feels so good.

The radar is fine as-is. Used it to my advantage to be a total asshole loll.

Why do you have to make them feel that way.

Hey man, I'm been outnumbered by Britney Spears and Transformers fans. At this point, I'm pretty comfortable being part of the sane minority.

Anyone got any tips for a lowly noob?

Last Halo I played was 2 way back in the day. Any general tips for multiplayer? I find the horizontal turning to be really slow even on higher sensitivities. Is this intentional?

Thanks!

I remember it.
It must have gotten purged to remove anything "bro"
(fun)

Learn where the DMRs and BRs spawn because the low amount of auto-aim on the pistol makes it hard to use.
