Hmmm. So smaller than Skyrim. Sucks because i put 450 hours into the game (still haven't finished the main story) and explored every inch of the map. I walked everywhere too. I wanted FO4 to have that same space, or even bigger.
Whatever, at least it's bigger than FO3.

Err, what does that even mean? You could pry run across the entire length of Skyrim in 15 minutes, doesn't stop it from being a huge world with plenty to explore.

PC streamer's been playing for hours and he still hasn't roamed beyond the 4 way intersection toward the northwest corner of the map.
Really happy to see all of these HUD options. It's huge for me.
Bethesda has given out playable PC copies, and by looks of it it's 100% offline meaning it's not connected to Steam in any way. Very ballsy move by Bethesda as they basically put all trust in randos not to create .torrent from 100% offline PC version of FO4.
Ballsy move that they most likely regret now.

Why does map size matter? They have ALREADY said it's a bigger game than Skyrim. Nevermind that the Skyrim map is wider with more non-walkable terrain inside it's play area.
The streamer on right now has been playing for a good while, and hasn't even made it to Diamond City.
TLDR: Map comparisons are irrelevant.

Yeah I think I'm fast approaching my limit for having more spoiled, especially the open world exploring. If the map seems small to some already playing I really don't want one of the main appeals of these games - exploration and thrill of discovery, to be dashed so soon.
That said,
That revolver rifle looked fucking awesome. Gonna love customizing guns in this.

Meh,I really hope theyve done a good job with optimization,I'm gonna be playing this with a 560 Ti (1 GB) and considering I've played through Witcher 3 on this,shouldnt have problem in theory
Don't forget all the vault, cave, and subway / highway tunnel spelunking as well.

Not gonna take part in either revering or hating on the map size, but to me it's actually interesting that it seems to be significantly smaller than Skyrim's map. Interesting because almost without exception devs have only made the maps larger when moving onto next gen. Some even a lot larger. Seeing bethesda's new game on next gen actually be smaller than their last game which was on last gen is a bit of a surprise. I do hope that FO4 has a lot of density

I have very hard time trusting these FO4 map measurements. Shit is thrown to the wall based on one running video and few leaked map layouts without any knowledge of scale.
So lets say Core @ 25% lasts ~8 minutes. That is ~32 minutes for 100% Core and with Int 9 perk you can double duration of Core, so you are looking at ~1h of Power Armor gameplay / 100% Core.
