Response time is irrelevant, im on a BenQ with ~12ms of input lag which is near the absolute best.

IMO Halo 5 should of been delayed to early December/late November. Black Ops 3, next week Fallout 4, then Battlefront. This games population is going to get slapped. I'm the biggest Halo fanboy/MLG tryhard and I'm bored as shit and tired of trying my heart out EVERY game.

Anything above 5ms is bad for console FPS, especially Halo. the size also is important and if its LCD, LCD are the worst when it comes to input lag.

but I have the same fear. Maybe it would have been better to release Halo with a more fleshed out MP. it just feels so barebones.
Of course the Arena Lists are fun..but Warzone is just no replacement for firefight or BTB/social matchmaking.
 
Why are the controls so delayed aka massive input lag?

Cant hit shit in competitive. Im used to smooth and Preise controls since csgo on pc


Warzone on the other Hand is completely fine and fun.
So I started playing on launch day and never had a issue with the controls.

Then Tuesday I got on and within 5 seconds of my first match, I couldn't aim at all. I immediately said, "What the fuck is wrong with my controller.". I felt like I had a massive input lag. I swapped controllers, didn't help at all. I reset my Xbox, made sure my TV was in game made, and nothing worked. I gave up and was confused. Went out with my wife that night.

Came home, and turned it on. Everything felt fine and back to normal.

I have no idea what happened, but my game was definitely broken when I played that morning.

I'm on a BenQ with ~1ms of input lag and I don't notice any input lag. Maybe your controller needs to be updated?
 
No way man. H5s TTK is pretty much on par with the rest of the series. Also Halo CE had the fastest TTK.

Bungie made some horrible decisions like dual weilding, armor abilities, bloom, player models with different sized hit boxes, turning the pistol into a nerf gun etc.

Bungie made a a Bloom DMR, a lead shot BR and Armor lock, trust me, Bungie wasnt any better.

Kill times are fine as far as I can tell, now because there is more balance in the weapon, people have more means to kill you, the one weapon to rule them all phylosophy that was in place since Halo 2 is gone, this is more in line to original Halo, where every weapon was useful.

And I said this before, no matter what Halo you are playing if you face yourself with two opposing team, you dont figth them, you run away, odds are you are going to get kill.

The TTK is consistent with 2 and 4, slower than CE, faster than 3, actual engagement time is the longest in the series due to mobility options.

Wait...if you're supposed to be a badass super soldier, wouldn't it still make sense to die rather quickly against two other proficient super soldiers? Halo 5 standardizes Spartan abilities so everyone can equally earn longer lifetimes if they make the most of what they have. TTK seems the same as older Halo games if not longer once you get in the groove of using thrust/slide/shoulder barge/ground pound/clamber in conjunction with traditional Halo/FPS tactics and skill.

How could TTK be the same when AR is that much OP ? It's the most powerful AR to date and when two people praying at you , you are dead immediately even as fast as Cod ..

Don't hate me but Reach DMR is the most balanced DMR imo. Halo 4 DMR is OP which ı think everybody agree with me , Halo 5 DMR is not as good as Halo 4 DMR in close range but longe in longer ranges , it's OP because it has no bloom. In Reach , you can't spam the DMR in long ranges.In 5 , every open area turns into sit back and camp with DMR situation like Halo 4. This is not Halo..Kills and deaths feel cheap.

Maps are small and chaotic with infinite sprint.Useless radar makes it more chaotic.. You are always in a situation to get kill or get killed by someone. Gameplay is ultra fast.

I love Halo and i want it to be the most successfull game , it's my favorite FPS game by far but this game doesn't feel like Halo..I hope MCC holds it's community and ı hope people also play Reach when it launches with BC..

21 maps at launch with 6 being Warzone? Sounds like a bogus claim to me...


And 6 more Warzone Maps in future? More like 3 maps with variants for Assault.


I bought this for Warzone and it's 6 Maps...and it has 3.

Yeah there has indeed been some oddness... all the "missing" maps... no forge... broken map rotation... the jumping aim acceleration curve. Smooth launch overall but... can the player base help in any way 343i? Where the good at?

Dat Hyperbole, I have tried killing someone with the AR at close range against someone using a pistol and more often than not I get killed, the AR is nowhere near CoD kill times.

Halo Reach vanilla DMR was a piece of crap that made the game random because the bloom made the bullet land in a random spread, basically two engagement were a roll of the dice, in MLG you saw some players just spamming and getting kills, or you saw others pacing the shots getting similar results, it was the most random experience in Halo.

and Sprint is the worst tool you can use now in Halo 5, if you are sprinting, then yes you are going to get killed a lot, Sprint put you in a big disadvantage because of the Shield mechanic and because the maps are small.

This is my biggest issue. I was really bummed when I realized they inflated their numbers with remixes and forge maps. :- I hope that trend won't last throughout the whole run of dlc for Halo 5.

I think your confused... .01 of a second is literally impossible to notice. I had a old Vizio 32 inch TV back when HD TV's were newish. That thing had 250ms of input lag, that is the shit thats noticeable, 1/4th of a second. I think halo 3 had 256ms of input lag for the controls, this feels just as bad to me. Then add in the ramp up in aim acceleration and its just annoying to shoot people. I place Onyx but the act of shooting is ugh.

Could def be my controller, its brand new and updated though...

It has 6 maps. 3 for Warzone and 3 for Warzone Assault. 6 Warzone maps.

Well Dice don't say their Rush Mode Maps or Squad-Mode Maps are different, that's what I gathered the guy who showed the Battlefield Maps was saying.


How would you feel if they only gave us West Armory, Spire and East Armoury from the Jungle Map and called that a free BTB map for us of the 6 they might give us?

Check and see if you have an update available. The input lag is certainly low enough to where it shouldn't be a problem. I have notice a few times where I had to hit Y to change weapons multiple times, but that is usually after I thrust and I may be hitting it too soon.

Check what the other poster said then, its possible that the games just get bugged and it need a reset or something.

Anyway, Anything above 5ms felt bad for me in Halo, in Halo 3 I used to have a LCD sansumg with 10ms, and I felt I was playing inside a Honey jar.

Yeah I notice that, but you still dont die as fast as CoD if those players are just shooting at you.

When two people come at you, sure, but that's Halo in a nutshell. Against one person though, even when you've landed several headshots with the AR, the TKK is still fairly long. Case in point...

Edit: What the hell, it may actually have bit hit detection delay or lag, just noticed in the video the death tick pops up in the bottom left really late lol.

It probably wouldn't have seemed so bad if they hadn't inflated the numbers before launch. I still would have been disappointed but thinking were were going to have more really pours salt on the wound.

Battlefield 4 launched with 10 maps.

DICE stated it launched with 10 maps.

All maps can be played in Rush Mode, like Warzone Assault...


DICE lied and really put 20 maps in the game, not 10! :P


Also, Battlefield 4's DLC launches with 8 maps, not the 4 they say because each can be used for Rush.


And I won't even go on to say how many maps they have if you count each Team Deathmatch and Obliteration Variant as a New Map...and the difference between Conquest Large and Small...


MCC's Map Count would be eclipsed by BF4 if I did that!
 
My problem with the maps, besides the low numbers, is that it seems to me that they spent most of their design time on Breakout maps and were fine having all the arena maps be garbage.
 
A good friend, Gazzawa (he is in Australia), us forced to sell H5 because he is unable due to high latency to play with anyone.

Petty sad.

Even people in EU are having the same issue from time to time.

Funny really.

Server seems RNG as to what region, if any, they put you in with.
 
In reading a lot of this thread over the past few days, it basically seems that the vast majority of people don't like Halo 5 because of a variety of issues, all of which basically ends up being "it's different than a previous Halo I loved". If you want the same exact Halo you played before, why don't you go back to that one?
 
Does anyone know the average turnaround time on having an application approved for the Halo stats API? Submitted my request yesterday but no response yet.

Also starting to feel slight fatigue playing this game alone.
Problem is i just wanna relax with it but my aim is all over the place and i cant figure out why, its like some counter-aim-assist going on while i keep getting put on servers outside my region or with people outside my region.
I wouldnt mind that if it was every now and then, but all games today besides 2 have been a complete shitfest with getting kills from the grave with ARs and 10 hitmarkers on enemies with the magnum in the head.

Can we not select a server region pretty please?
 
well theres a weekend playlist coming, that looks like its gonna be shotty snipers.

the new API that just launched for stats also revealed a string for something called warzone turbo, where everyone starts at level 9 req. no idea when thats launching.

Personally, i want my stupid games. I want oddball, and ricochet. the more fun gametypes no other shooter has
Sounds like a decent start. And yeah the reason why I love Halo so much is the stupidly over the top and fun game modes.

I play Halo to get away from the typical TDM/FFA/Domination game mode cycle. Stop making my only options TDM/FFA/Domination.
 

Lol i was camping that spot trying to do the exact same thing the other night... too funny when they have no idea it can happen!

I'd almost be OK with them keeping invisibility in Breakout if you could take out the powerup from multiple locations on the map just by shooting at it or a button on top/below it to permanently disable it for that round. (Still, the power weapons must go ;P)

How bout the aiming issue for some people? How about the lag issues for some as well? It doesn't make it different, it makes it worst for some people and I think it's really sad that some automatically jump at the defense without reading what some poeple are having issues with.
 
Ahhh, feels much earlier though.

I think because outside melee, this OV takes a lot of shots to take out, so a player could last like a minute with an OV.

This game is starting to frustrate me because of how inconsistent I'm playing. In all of the other halo, I was pretty good and very rarely went negative, and if I went negative, it wasn't by a lot. In this game though I either go really positive or really negative... And it's really starting to get to me mentally and makes me do even worse.
